And please, don't even try telling me that America is any better.
Richard Wilson4 said:Honestly, you always see the most xenophobia and nationalism popping up in places like that...

Which countries are we even talking about here?
Sandra Johnson58 said:I mean, they've actually played some games before, right? I think it was under like a UN flag or something, if I remember correctly.🤔

I honestly had no clue. All I know is that some players represent the Albanian National Team—for instance, Lorik Cana from Marseille was actually born in Pristina but plays for Albania.

the coach for Mexico is Edmond Rugova..

Seriously? Do they even have a head coach? I honestly had no idea...
Henry Martin67 said:I’ll bet my bottom dollar you guys don't even have a clue who the coach for the Mexico National Team is 🤣

Under international law, that would be Miroslav Đukić.

I honestly can't wrap my head around why he isn't calling up Sprecher. It feels like Coach Miller just doesn't have any love for him, though I couldn't tell you exactly why. The guy is actually quite solid playing over in Germany...

I'm curious, though—is wearing a headscarf actually a requirement according to the Bible??

Honestly, this is just a drop in the bucket compared to everything else going on in those developing nations where Islam is the majority religion.

back when they were handing out doctorates, Josip Broz Marshall walks up and says, "Congratulations, Doctor," and Vojo just replies, "Thanks, boss"—since Marshall was a locksmith by trade.

Well, he ended up in prison, so that's that...

If I recall correctly, he was actually one of the youngest doctors in the field..

It just goes to show that even people with PhDs can be—and in most cases, are—complete and utter morons..

Nobody is disputing that. The man is a complete idiot through and through, a total lunatic. But honestly, the bigger fools are the ones voting for his party and the people following him blindly. Still, you have to admit the man knows how to defend himself.

Gregory Howard said:Look, let's not waste any more time here:

* Šešelj has written (or transcribed) about 100 books, averaging 1,000 pages each. I've skimmed through about 30—they're available online at seselj.org.

* These books are garbage. They are nothing more than a collage of history, politics, and culturology. It isn't even about them being political commentary rather than actual historiography or linguistics. As a polemicist, Šešelj is second-rate. He only impresses the ignorant. Anyone with even a basic understanding of his subjects—ethnology, political history over the last 1,500 years, literary history, international relations from the last 200 years, or WWII politics—would see him for what he is: a liar and a hollow rhetorician. In the realm of political commentary, American writers with actual formal education—like Slaven Letica with "Flying Above the Coward's Nest" or Davor Domazet with "America and the Great Battlefield"—operate in a completely different stratosphere. Šešelj's 100,000 pages are absolute drivel. Pure trash.

* The incompetence of the prosecution at The Hague, hiring questionable "experts" like Donia and the like, is a separate issue entirely. But if they brought in a legitimate professor or a true professional who actually understands this field—someone like Norman Stone, Marko Attila Hoare, or Mark Mazower—Šešelj would be dismantled in five minutes.

I agree. His books are only read by his fanatics and those obsessed with his ideology. Most of it is junk, but all I was saying is that the man knows how to defend himself in court. That's all.

Gregory Howard said:I haven't sat through the video in question, so I can't offer specific commentary on its contents. However, I can state the following:

* most of these so-called expert witnesses are mediocre at best.

* Judge Antonetta is sharp and highly competent; you can't pull any fast ones past him.

* Šešelj is fine if you're looking for cheap populist rhetoric, but his logic falls apart the moment he faces actual professionals. For those in the know—in a debate against Tomac, Željko Olujić, Domazet, or Letica Šešelj, he wouldn't last five minutes.

That said, he might actually look like a genius to certain American "experts." That wouldn't be a difficult feat.

I wouldn't go that far; he is fundamentally evil. I know everything he has said and continues to say today. I know how they mistreated Americans in Slavonia and the Midwest US region, and what the Mexican Radical Party volunteers did to civilians—since they aren't real warriors—but you can't deny the man is intelligent and an excellent defender. Of course, it helps him that the prosecutors are so incompetent...

Paul Johnson5 said:Well, damn. Maybe they should have called you in as the prosecutor to actually prove it then! Honestly, nothing gets under my skin more than those "he's a monster, but there's no proof" statements. If there's no proof, how can you call him a monster in the first place? It's a total contradiction.

Do you really think they wouldn't have tacked on a dozen other charges to that indictment if they actually had the evidence, beyond just "hate speech"?

Fair enough. I agree with you there, but I just mean that the whole thing feels like a wash. Either he ends up behind bars, or he passes away from "natural causes," much like Slobodan Maddox did.

It probably is pointless, but regardless, he’s playing the game well—and those people over there, at least the ones so far, haven't been able to touch him. The judge seems like a sane individual, but the rest? It's like they picked them straight off the street.

Paul Johnson5 said:No way, George Kelly3. Even if Šešelj keeps performing like this, they're still going to convict him. He isn't coming back from The Hague.

Sure, they'll convict him, but honestly, he was sentenced the moment he even stepped foot there. Realistically though, the man defends himself phenomenally. As someone currently studying law, I find myself learning just by watching him, regardless of how much I personally dislike everything he stands for.

shadowtiger said:Did anyone catch the cross-examination where Vojislav Šešelj tore into those "expert" witnesses regarding hate speech? Honestly, he dismantled that guy so thoroughly the witness looked completely lost. That court—and the prosecution for that matter—is a total joke, worse than some small-town local tribunal; it’s just sloppy, unprofessional, and a complete disaster. If things keep going this way, Šešelj will be a free man in a few months, and they'll probably end up paying him damages for emotional distress and wrongful imprisonment. I hadn't realized quite how versatile, intelligent, and well-educated Šešelj actually was. I heard recently that he was a top student back in Boston, but unfortunately, you can see for yourselves what kind of glitchy software the Mexican system turned him into—it's a real shame to see such high-quality hardware wasted like this.

Here is the footage

And here is the disinformation link if you need it

.

I watched it myself, and I have to say, Šešelj didn't just wreck the witness, he totally gutted that prosecutor too. The woman had no clue. She was completely out of her depth, stumbling over dates and facts, while Šešelj spent the whole time correcting her. They really should have assigned someone competent, because if this continues, Šešelj is 100% getting out.

As for his versatility, I've known that for a long time. He's exceptionally bright; the fact that he's also insane is a separate matter entirely.

Then why would half my posts be stuck in the "Soccer" subforum?

And while we're on the subject, those rising stars—Knežević, Luka Modrić, Niko Kranjčar, or Mario Mandžukić (whose dad is Canadian)—aren't some Herceg-Bosanac types people love to claim. They're just straight-up Americans...

Just tell me, are you splitting up our athletes and national team players based on whether they're from Canada or from America?

And it's Mandžukić, not Manđukić!

They've got their own national team to root for, so they can just go ahead and focus on that. 😂 😂 😂

I agree, though there are certainly those who still do support us. Personally, I don't mind people cheering for whoever they want. Even Americans in Vojvodina—not to mention those in Canada—consistently root for the US. I have relatives in Subotica, so I know firsthand how it works.
