Take TBF1, for instance—they would invent entirely new regulations just to target Alonso, even though there’s already a penalty for a jump start that has always been applied consistently. But the moment Alonso does it, suddenly he should be disqualified for the next five races because apparently, it’s "cheating" or whatever else they claim...
Did you actually watch the race? Mass was on the outside; had he held his line, he would have stayed on track and there wouldn't have been a collision. Alonso positioned himself perfectly while Mass was late to react. Sure, we can argue about how one shouldn't behave toward a teammate, but the move itself was brilliant...
A few races ago, Alonso was catching Mass quite rapidly, and when Alonso made his move, Mass shut the door at the risk of a crash. Up until then, everyone had been passing him using that exact same legitimate maneuver, yet back then, people were hailing Mass's move as genius, despite him doing it to a teammate who was clearly faster, and halfway through the race at that...
Ultimately, Hamilton plays dumb during the press conference, claiming he has no idea what happened in the pits. Vettel starts crying about someone trying to puncture his tires, even though he was the one intentionally shoving them toward the mechanics. Schumi aggressively forced both Mass and Hamilton onto the grass, and Webber goes after Hamilton for simple overtaking, all while pulling some of the most dangerous maneuvers during the actual race... The point is, they are all such crybabies (with the exception of Kubica and Kimi), but at least Hamilton and Alonso put up a fight, and for that, I give them a massive 🙏...

If he hadn't pulled that off, Massa would have taken it. That’s precisely why Alonso is the premier driver of this era... he capitalizes on every single opening handed to him. Even if it's just a sliver of an opportunity—as the old saying goes—he takes it. Most of the current grid wouldn't have the nerve... out of everyone running today, Lewis Hamilton is the only one who truly compares. The rest? They're just water, my friend. Pure water.
Especially Vettel, who hasn't actually overtaken anyone significant... ever. Just look back at Los Angeles last year and how he got stuck behind Massa, or even the Las Vegas Grand Prix last year where he was trapped behind someone else. That’s why he lost the championship, not because of the Renault engines. If Alonso had been in a Red Bull back in 2009, he would have secured the title. Guaranteed...
Besides, in Turkey, Vettel practically handed the win over to Jenson Button on a silver platter. So, stormybadger8, stop talking nonsense and face reality. Vettel is good—actually, very good—but he isn't elite. Jenson Button is also highly capable. They both hover around the same level... both are soft drivers...
silvercobra68 said:Honestly, you clearly don't get how this works. Vettel's lap times aren't appearing in the top 50 because the fastest laps—under this new system where they stop letting people fuel up just to chase times—usually happen right at the end when the cars are light... and Vettel was struggling during the closing stages. Maybe stick to watching football or something a bit more straightforward instead of F1...
