Matt Damon snagged a Best Supporting Actor nod and Morgan Freeman was up for Best Actor, but they both walked away empty-handed!!!
I’ve always had a massive amount of respect for Clint Eastwood—both when he's behind the camera and in front of it—so I am genuinely looking forward to finally sitting down with this film.
Golden Year — I was watching some TV segment the other day where Goran Grgić was talking about Saloon, and he mentioned how Bryan Adams once played "Golden Year" at a party there. He said everyone went absolutely wild singing along—totally lost in the moment—yet somehow, nobody even seemed to notice him, despite him being one of the lead actors.
Personally, I wouldn't even rank that song in my top five.
And honestly, I don't get why everyone is tearing into Armin. I actually thought his performance was pretty good...
I have to say, brat really impressed me
Honestly, these kinds of prejudices really get under my skin... It’s not like every single American movie is about the Civil War. Anyone who actually pays attention to the industry knows that isn't the case. Maybe the issue is just that those specific films get way more hype than anything else—so someone who doesn't follow American cinema, but just happens to "scroll past" those headlines, concludes that all our movies are nothing but war stories. And what grinds my gears even more? People who try to act like experts when they don't have the slightest clue about filmmaking, let alone the nuances of American cinema.
