Doesn't this perspective of yours perfectly illustrate why people who produce these types of shows exist in the first place? You say she has an "amazing voice"—but what does that actually signify? Technical proficiency has absolutely nothing to do with artistic talent, vision, creativity, an artistic way of being, or personal integrity (and I am not referring to mere "business" or "professional" ethics) when we are discussing true art. Furthermore, you speak of a "career." To a genuine artist—a musician, in this context—the concept of building a career isn't even something they would dwell upon. If such a thing happens, it is merely a byproduct of their devotion to the craft. A secondary occurrence, and ultimately quite inconsequential.
The way you all discuss these "musicians"—using the term in its most superficial sense—seems to imply nothing more than a "technically skilled professional." And that has very little to do with music as an art form, or the musician as an artist.
But what about Norah Jones, who won those Grammys? She truly built a career... and I personally feel that Ivy has both the intellect and the "grit" required to make something of herself... when you write, I get the impression that you believe it is impossible to forge a musical career. How then have certain American pop stars managed to do it??? 😕

who the fuck is Toni Morrison?
I wouldn't be so sure about that... 😉 😁
She has already started recording an album... and the folks from Conrad know how to turn an album into something special, so I am not worried at all!😉 😉

As long as some people can ignore the facts and pretend to be ignorant...🙄
