A new hope? Iva Ajduković

I suspect most of you might not be familiar with who she is... since it seems like the discussions here mostly revolve around rock and similar genres. But that’s alright; those who are interested are free to read and share their thoughts! 😁

Iva Ajduković was a contestant on the musical competition series Showtime. She really stood out to everyone as an incredibly talented performer, and there is a lot of buzz predicting a massive career ahead of her. I can already hear some of you thinking, "No way... she'll just be another forgotten face from a washed-up reality show!" However, many of us—myself included—don't see it that way at all. In fact, she has already begun recording an album, and given her powerhouse vocals and the fact that she's working with top-tier producers like Shalla and Natko, she has a very clear path toward stardom.

I would ask that, rather than simply dismissing her as another fleeting celebrity, you actually take a moment to listen to her music; I truly believe her voice will win you over! 😉 Many people have even drawn comparisons between her and Nina Badrić! I personally adore her talent and sincerely hope to see her achieve the greatness she deserves!

Iva is an absolute queen! She totally owned the entire show—her vocals were on a completely different level. That rendition of I Will Always Love You was just everything! Honestly, I think she’s basically the next big thing, like a modern-day Nina Badrić 😍 A total icon. As soon as her album drops, you can bet I’ll be first in line to grab a copy! For those who aren't aware, you can actually head over to the Showtime website to listen to some of her performances. She has covered such a wide variety of songs, hasn't she? From "You Were Always on My Mind" and "I Will Always Love You" to "Respect," "Just Like a Pill," and "When You Believe"—even "Niše Mi Svejedno"... she really does touch on everything.😁

Iva was hands down the best one there, her voice is just flawless... and I know she’s gonna kill it...

I can't help but wonder what those who haven't really gotten to know her will have to say... 😁

In my opinion, she was definitely one of the standout talents on the show... I wasn't glued to the screen every single week, but she really seemed to have that spark, you know? Like, she could actually make it big if she plays her cards right 🙂

The issue with these kinds of competitions—where someone wins and gets instant fame among a voyeuristic crowd of people with boring lives who just love peeking into someone else's private affairs—is that the whole machine is rigged from the start. You’ve got these massive corporate institutions, like a giant conglomerate like Sony or Universal, that don't actually care about the music; they just care about the bottom line. Everyone involved in this entire cycle, from day one, views music as nothing more than an abstract technical skill—in this case, just hitting the right notes while singing—but they have zero artistic soul, zero creativity, zero vision, and absolutely no personal integrity. More often than not, it isn't even about seeing music as a craft; it's just a naked grab for cash and celebrity status.

The entire process is upside down from the get-go. Anyone with any actual respect for music is going to find this whole setup repulsive.

I can't quite wrap my head around why she didn't take home the win on that show, though I suppose everyone has their own reasons... but honestly, she has such incredible potential. With a voice that powerful, what could possibly stand in her way as she builds a career? 😕

It doesn't matter if someone gets famous by winning or just being on a reality show. It's all the same.

And honestly, what you're saying right there is exactly how the people who produce these shows think. You say "great voice"—yeah, and then what? Technical skill has nothing to do with artistic talent, or ideas, or creativity, or an artistic way of existing, or personal integrity (not "business" or "professional" ethics, but actual integrity) or anything else that matters when we're talking about art. Then there's this talk about a "career." To a real artist—a musician, in this case—the concept of a "career" wouldn't even cross their mind. That's just a possible byproduct of making art. A byproduct. And a trivial one at that.

The way you guys talk about "musicians," in your best definition of the word, usually just means "someone technically proficient at their job." And that has zero connection to music as an art form or a musician as an artist.

She has such an incredible, powerful voice! I honestly think she’s got what it takes to break through in the American music scene and really make a name for herself long-term! 😁
