I have actually stumbled upon another driver who bears an even closer resemblance to the individual in this photo than Collins does, which is André Simon, though there is a frustratingly small number of his photos available online, leaving me somewhat uncertain. That said, he too was driving a Ferrari at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

He drove for both Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, and if you're suggesting it's 1955, that seems plausible; André made his debut in '51 and had his final race in '57, and during '55, he was indeed driving for both Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz...

So, everything seems to align perfectly; it is likely him...

I find myself pondering the aesthetic choices behind Brawn GP's current look—why go this route? I suppose there is a certain striking quality to how that loud, vibrant green clashes against the stark white, especially considering they have almost no sponsors on display at the moment. It stands in such sharp contrast to the old BAR days, where they sported that iconic, seamless combination with Lucky Strike, or even the truly bizarre era under Honda, when they actually featured a world map printed right onto the car's livery...
