Did I mess something up then?? I missed it! That’s what I was seeing in RivaTuner... and look, you know I don't exactly claim to be an expert when it comes to overclocking—I'm no pro—but I think I might have actually screwed up here... If I did blow it, my bad...
By the way—I went ahead and overclocked my GPU too...😉 But I’ve gotta admit, I’m feeling a little uneasy because it’s running incredibly hot (using an 8800 GTS)... Anyway—I think the clock speeds are sitting at around 770/1190 MHz.....🙄
The foundation of any solid, safe, or high-quality overclock is decent cooling—start there. Make sure your thermal management is dialed in first, and then you can push those clocks as hard as you want... If things go sideways... just reset the CMOS and get back at it. Repeat the process until you hit the absolute ceiling for your CPU or GPU!
But there's one thing I'm still scratching my head over... I hit a Blue Screen of Death twice—just my luck—but everything seems to be running smoothly now.😉
Should I go for the record? I honestly don't get how nobody else is hitting this benchmark yet. I wasn't even trying that hard! But man—it’s just a blast working on this rig! 😁 Now, I'm diving straight into overclocking the GPU...😉
What kind of resale value am I looking at for this one from Kingmax? Is it really that much of a piece of junk? Think this Overcklock is decent enough? (wiredmarlin5—I wish you were here just so I could see that smug look on your face...😁)
Suckers...... Check out my killer Pij setup... 🙂 The photo is a bit blurry—not entirely sure why! I tucked a second window behind this one just to keep things private since my Memu is acting up like crazy... but I'll get that sorted out soon enough! 😉 By the way, it's running perfectly fine at 4.2 GHz—that Mini Typhoon really gets the job done....😉
Well, I just couldn't help myself—I had to run Super Pi (just like Steve suggested using Pi 1m) and I clocked in at 12.348s... I'll post a screenshot later! By the way, regarding the cooling issues... it isn't actually a case problem—it’s just that my desk is too cramped... anyway, I've gotta run... catch you later...
Hey! So, did I make a mistake here?? The guy over at Ve-Mil told me this was the best bang for my buck—best value by far! Just to brag a little—I managed to push the proc to 4015.2 MHz (actually hit 4146 MHz once, too), but it stays stable at 4015.2 MHz... (that's 414.6 x 10)... temps are sitting right between 54 and 57 degrees! Haven't pushed it any further yet. That OC is actually pretty interesting... Heading into work now—I'll catch you guys later... peace!
Honestly, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to things like Super Pi or 3DMark—to be frank, I don't even care much for them—so... someone please point me in the right direction...😁
Finally, Mike is checking in with his own results... I picked up a new CPU cooler—which, honestly, I wasn't even feeling at first—and after a massive headache trying to get everything to line up, I finally managed to seat it in the case... It’s a Typhoon...and yeah, I actually pulled it off. Right now, I've only run Super Pi...I'll be back tomorrow with some other—hopefully better—results. I'm too wiped out tonight. I might even snap a few photos of the rig so you guys can see my mod and how the whole thing turned out. And btw, to everyone praising this specific cooler... sucks to say it, but it feels cheap and flimsy. It wouldn't even cool me down if I were running a fever...😉 Here is the Super Pi run:Link> _______________ For the record, I couldn't care less about overclocking... I'm doing this all for wiredmarlin5......😁> Btw, I managed to push past 4 GHz using just the stock cooler.....😉>
Just wanted to confirm—I managed to push the Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 up to 4.0 GHz (actually 4.02 GHz) without any issues, even using the standard stock cooler...😉
