I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to talk him into it more effectively than I could—you've definitely got more wits about you than I do—so hopefully that clears things up a bit... My apologies once again....🙂
Well, now you've gone and offended me! Everyone tells me I'm way too sensitive...😢 I really need to work on my attitude regarding that! My apologies, wiredmarlin5!
But honestly, there’s just no point in trying to push an E6700 any further... I'm going to go ahead and reset my BIOS—just let it run on the defaults for now—since it’s performing perfectly fine as it is...
Go ahead—keep going... I’m just messing around here, while you’re clearly out to get me... Fine, keep talking... it’s not like it matters—I was rocking an E6700 long before any of you were even crawling along on Pentiums... Sorry, but you're just being difficult for the sake of it... Look, I’ll tell you what—if you can actually prove me wrong, I’ll give you my E6700 myself...
Take a look at a few of my previous posts—I’ve already given you plenty of validation... I’m not going to bluff my way through this when I’m not even sure myself... You know overclocking isn't really my specialty—you could embarrass me before I even realize what happened—so I stay quiet... you know that too. Honestly, it was just fun having my own processor back when nobody else had one—that's all there was to it—but that's out of style now anyway. I can't accurately judge its overclocking potential, so I’ve given up on it. But listen—if that thing runs rock-solid at 4.2/4.3 GHz for three days straight at room temperature, I will hand over my own CPU to you on the spot—just give me any old Core 2 Duo in exchange so I'm not left without a computer... there—that's my offer.
wiredmarlin5, that chip just isn't up to your standards—sorry... I was pushing that processor to 4.2 GHz back when you were still stuck at 2.8 GHz with your E6300... sorry, but it's just the truth... Go ahead and try to overclock it to 5 GHz now if you want; I’ll be keeping mine at a steady 3.0 GHz... but honestly? I'm still the winner here—it's just not even close... sorry man...
I definitely wouldn't recommend overclocking with that stock cooler! It’ll serve you forever if you just stick to stock voltages—but the second you decide to push an OC, you really ought to swap it out...
