Lewis, Kimi, Alonso... those guys were much better at playing that game.

Out of that whole lot, maybe only Raikkonen was truly pure.
A total gentleman. Just a guy who didn't give a damn about anything else. 😁

Alfa Romeo playing their own tune in an Alfa. 🙂

Another penalty: 🧐

Elizabeth Adams said:Bravo, finally someone using their brain.

I'm not entirely convinced 😁
but, sure, Lewis is fast, and wouldn't it be brilliant if everyone was driving identical cars?
Then we'd actually figure out who possesses true speed.
But of course, that's never going to happen; this isn't Indy or NASCAR. 🙄
Look, whether you love him or (more often😁) not
, it would be a stretch to say that the "gangsta" Lewis isn't an incredibly fast Formula 1 driver.
You’d have to be a complete moron to even attempt that argument.
Some drivers might be more likable than others, but I don't root for anyone from this current crop of talent;
ever since Jacques Villeneuve retired... it’s been easy. I truly believe I’m impartial.
Even back then, I couldn't bring myself to spout that "Schumacher has no clue" nonsense that one friend of mine kept blaring about.
A man has to show respect where respect is due.
Now, if we’re talking about the personalities of both Schumacher and Lewis...
well, many legends are built that way.
It’s just part of the game—think Vettel, Alonso... or how Senna was in his prime?
He’d act like a total diva the second someone didn't give him the racing line. 🤦😁
Elizabeth Adams said:Taj Hamza needs to shave his balls dry because he was dragging his feet way too long getting to the starting grid yesterday.
And Max too, since everyone says he’s just messing around behind Hamza's rear wing.
So basically, a collective ball shaving session for both of them.

Why on earth would this be considered a penalty? 😕
You pay massive amounts of money for exactly this kind of thing.

Aha, I see what you mean now.
But if we follow that logic, it would imply that the speed trap is far more critical than it actually is.
The order there is often, shall we say, quite peculiar. Jovanovic, George Russell, Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda... 😕
Take the last US Grand Prix, for example.

"You hardly gain anything, but you can lose a lot” said Sergio Perez regarding the sprint race. 🤣
It’s obvious they didn't tell him just how much ground Lewis Hamilton made up.
Which is bizarre, considering he finished right behind him. 😁
"We'll be keeping a close eye on them," they say over at Red Bull 🤣

graniteharbor502 said:Our colleague is being ironic, of course; however, there truly are those who aren't joking when they suggest that one must drive quite differently when paired with such an incredibly fast car on the straights...

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you mean by "mastering" it like that.
Jack Kelly5 said:Actually, it wasn't Bottas hitting 27 km/h, it was Lewis. So it isn't just about the car; it’s definitely something with the driver.
😬

I can practically feel the stench of irony wafting off this situation.
How on earth can a driver be faster than the car itself? I mean, think about the physics of it—how can an individual's pace actually outstrip the technical capabilities of the machine they're piloting on a straightaway? It defies logic! 🐔
It would be absolutely absurd if he were forced to run with minimum downforce; the entire setup would be completely nonsensical.
It’s quite obvious, isn't it? Lewis certainly has the more modern engine under the hood this time around.
And I hear he even has brand-new underwear. Bottas has a wife, for crying out loud—he certainly has a washing machine! 😢
I believe we all noticed how Lewis was practically dragging himself to his starting position
but of course, the reason behind it was immediately obvious. though, just as you pointed out...
it was likely against the regulations, but what can you do? I can't bring myself to wish an additional penalty on him just yet.
that would be excessive; it is much easier to simply overlook it as 🙄

wiredjackal12 said:Fernando Alonso had a decent start, and he's sitting right on Lewis's tail today 😁 I'm fairly certain he'll try to make a move somewhere... 😂

I would say the exact same thing
but then I remember how he started during last night's sprint race, looking like a total sloth
so... yeah... 🤷
But honestly, I'm rooting for the old man; I love seeing him back at the top. He's a legend.
And nothing beats the feeling of watching Vettel - Raikkonen - Alonso lined up one after another in a race like the last one 🎉

There's a new drama brewing on the docks 🎉 🤦

Maybe this time they should just let Sergio Perez go ahead and inspect everything thoroughly and get to the bottom of it, rather than 😳

Let's shake things up around here for a moment.
The other day, I made a recommendation over at "what movie to watch"
but it seems I haven't seen anyone else bring up this particular scene yet.

https://www.gamesradar.com/exclusive...deleted-scene/
Fortunately, they left this out of the final cut of the film.😬

You can find the clip on YouTube, though you'll have to jump through those annoying age-verification hoops first.😁

If Valtteri Bottas had botched his start while Max Verstappen executed a perfect launch, we would be looking at a completely different race dynamic right now.
Lewis was just... mediocre, if we’re being honest. Valtteri really should have shown more aggression when pushing against Max Verstappen, but that was that.
He didn't want to, that’s just how he is—pure ego. And honestly, maybe what you all mentioned is true; perhaps he's doing this now just to save face for the sake of the team.
Which one is going to kick him out? But honestly, I’ll take that first part on faith for now.

Furthermore, considering how incredibly cautious he was right at the start—losing two positions in the process instead of playing it smart—it’s just hard to stomach. It’s like watching a driver hesitate when they should be attacking; you can't afford that kind of indecision if you want to stay competitive.
Most drivers would have turned up the aggression to claw back that position—or even both of them—but he just kept pushing in that exact same, stubborn manner.
That’s exactly why I believe Daniel Ricciardo managed to pull ahead; he simply wasn't prepared for such pathetic acceleration out of the corner.
(Especially when you consider that one Mercedes driver) So, let me ask you this: was Daniel being too aggressive? I know he certainly forced the issue.
The state of those tires entering Turn 1—even if he did manage to navigate the corner without incident—is a massive point of contention that warrants much deeper scrutiny.

There is one specific thing about Valtteri Bottas that absolutely fascinates me—something I haven’t observed in any other driver on the grid.
When you look at the two heavyweights—Red Bull Racing and Mercedes—it’s clear that he can be incredibly fast, but there's a catch: he only finds that pace when everything is functioning exactly according to his design.
Securing pole position and taking the lead right from the lights out means absolutely nothing if you can't maintain it. It is frankly infuriating how a driver can look utterly unrecognizable once they fall out of that top three or four bracket. One minute they are dominant, and the next, they are completely lost.
It becomes particularly infuriating when you consider how they handle start penalties from the back of the grid. Or even look at the current situation—when someone finds themselves stuck in that exact position.
It’s exactly where we left off after that incident. There is virtually zero progress being made. 😕 It’s almost as if he’s absolutely terrified of even a hint of turbulence.
It’s either that they have more pace than the rest of the field, or—more likely—they're simply terrified of getting caught in a wheel-to-wheel scrap.
To reach the absolute pinnacle of this sport, you have to be a complete bastard. You need that ruthless, uncompromising edge to dominate. And frankly, looking at him? He’s just not cut out for it. 🤷
Many people lose their edge once they get married. Perhaps that's just how it goes. 🙂

There aren't even any actual rules here; it’s just pure guesswork based on score predictions.
If I try to comfort those sitting at the bottom of the standings, I’ll be stuck in last place for an eternity. It's a total deadlock 😁
And what happened to the schedule? Why wasn't this week's matchup the Saints - Buccaneers?? 😳
