Ocean's 13

The second one? Honestly, when I watched it for the first time, I was just baffled. Total nonsense. But then, a few months later, I gave it another look and realized it actually holds its own—not quite hitting the heights of the original, but definitely solid enough.
As for the third part, I’m just hoping they fixed whatever mess they made in the second one and brought back those classic touches from the first film, rather than doubling down on the mistakes of the sequel.
I just realized all the numbers I threw out there actually add up to 13.😬

Part one was absolutely flawless.
I went into part two totally blindsided—honestly, my first reaction was just, "What on earth were they thinking?" It felt like such a mess. But after letting it sit for a few months, I revisited it and realized it actually holds up quite well. It doesn't quite reach the heights of the original, but it’s definitely solid enough.
As for part three, I'm really hoping they've smoothed out those hiccups from the second installment and brought back that genuine charm and cleverness we saw in the first movie, rather than repeating the mistakes of the sequel.

In my book, it’s easily the best spot for movie trailers.👍

Fahrenheit 451

Then again, most sci-fi films and books dealing with totalitarianism have looked pretty much the same since Orwell. And Orwell was likely inspired by that Russian, Zamyatin (I think that's the spelling). Somewhere in that mix, you've also got Huxley. I believe Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 a little later.
And Truffaut drew some lovely inspiration from Hitchcock and his Vertigo. You have an actress playing dual roles, that phantasmagoric dream sequence, and even Bernard Herrmann handled the score.👍
What I find fascinating about the movie—which looks so wonderfully anachronistic, a style I personally adore—is how they actually predicted the existence of flat screens in the future.😁
I really love the way those TVs turn off—everything just collapsing into a single point, the way things used to be. And the fact that there are phones everywhere in the house. There's that moment where the wife claims the Firemen were putting out fires rather than burning books, and he just snaps back, "What nonsense—who told you that?" I appreciate how everything feels so streamlined (like when the protagonist tells the operator his wife swallowed more blue and red pills, and the guy immediately knows exactly what needs to be done! For me, it's a great film.👍
