There isn't much to figure out here. RPM just means revolutions per minute. Since smaller fans have to spin faster to move enough air to cool things down, and those Celeron builds usually use tiny fans that cap out around 5000 RPM, you might want to go into the BIOS and set it to run at 100% constantly if you're planning on trying to overclock it.

I doubt you could get much overclocking out of it, Celerons aren't really built for that kind of thing...

I wouldn't push it if you're already hitting 50... besides, you usually adjust the FSB in the BIOS.

Yeah, the FBI gets multiplied by the multiplier.
Maybe try sucking on the CPU fan for a second to drop the temps down a bit.

I pushed my Kingmax 2 x 512 onto 677 MHz to try and hit 800 MHz. I'm assuming there shouldn't be much of an issue since Kingmax lists both speeds as basically the same thing, right?
I disabled Cool & Quiet and set the PCI-E back to the standard 100MHz. Bumped the CPU voltage from 1.375 up to 1.4V and cranked the FSB by 50... Ran Prime95, and it stayed stable with temps hitting a max of 50 degrees. SuperPi also passed every single time I bumped the FSB by 5—everything seems fine (the 1M test went from 54 seconds before the overclock to 41 seconds after)
Since I'm pretty new to the whole overclocking scene, are there any other potential headaches I should look out for?

Yeah, if they say it's DDR, you can pretty much assume it's got 184 pins.

If you've got 184-pin RAM, I guess you're pretty much stuck with that specific type. You probably can't just swap in 200-pin or 240-pin modules; they likely won't fit, or at least they won't work. Maybe check the specs first, though.

DDR has 184 pins, while DDR2 uses 240. You can only fit DDR if you have the 184-pin slot... anything else probably won't even go in.

Nah, you just pop them in and the PC handles the rest... Just make sure they're the same brand and speed, I guess.

Now, I have one more question...

I've got a single 512 MB stick of RAM in my PC. Can I just buy a 1 GB stick and add it to the existing 512 MB, or should I get another 512 MB stick instead? Or would it be better to pull the old 512 MB out and just swap in two 1 GB sticks?

I'm pretty sure your motherboard doesn't support dual channel. You could probably grab an extra 1GB, but the issue is that the new 1GB stick and the old 512MB one might not play nice together. Honestly, you're probably better off just getting two 1GB modules to avoid the headache. That'll run you about $133
