Grab the 6750

Look, if it works for you, fine, but that doesn't mean it's the gold standard or something everyone should be buying right now. Corsair makes solid power supplies, except for that CX series which is pretty mediocre—the V2 is better, but the original version was kind of a disaster. Mushkin is a decent manufacturer too; their units just recently hit the US market, and they aren't bad by any means.

Who's the PSU manufacturer and what's the specific model?

Also, yeah, you can probably throw just about any PCI-E card in there.

What CPU and how much RAM are you running?

There’s this passive heatsink that doesn't even need a fan. If they're selling it that way, I guess it has to be able to handle the heat on its own, otherwise everyone would just be filing warranty claims, right? Maybe the only thing that would actually mess with the cooling is if you put it in a tiny, cramped case with zero airflow.

The difference is there isn't some fan out there that can buzz and make that much noise. So I guess they're just 🙂

If the card looks just like the one in this photo, it's definitely PCI-E.

What are you even playing? Newer titles or what? I'd probably look at something like this:

I guess if you aren't running anything too heavy, you could maybe find a cheaper, quieter passive setup instead.

It’s better because it actually has decent protections and higher-quality components inside. Plus, it can probably pull a true 500W, whereas yours might only be hitting maybe 300W if you're lucky.

That power supply might hold up, but I'd probably just shell out a few extra bucks and grab an XFX 450W instead; it should handle it fine without any issues.
Honestly, don't sweat those manufacturer recommendations too much—they usually just overspec everything so they don't get blamed when cheap units fail.

Do $100 you won't find anything smarter in the budget section, and I doubt that Office Edition actually packs 550W... If you can swing a few extra bucks for the Strider, it’d probably be worth it.
