Well, look, if we aren't talking about massive performance gaps here, I’d honestly rather just go with passive cooling... anyway. Besides, I’m going to run into a bottleneck regardless; that Intel Pentium Dual-Core isn't exactly built to push things hard, so I won't even be utilizing the full potential of the card...
As for the graphics card, I’m still weighing my options and seeing how things shake out... I’ll likely end up grabbing a Radeon HD 7750 because of that passive heatsink; I have a soft spot for those silent builds. Once that's sorted, I'll probably hunt down a quiet PSU to match... maybe something like an EVGA 460W unit...

Should I stretch my wallet just a bit more $60 to grab an EVGA model? (I heard the cooling is superior to the standard PowerColor version, but then again, would a 6770 be a smarter play at that point?) 3. Which PSU should I go with?
I'm trying to be as frugal as possible here, so the plan was to just grab the basic 6750 for $223 along with a budget power supply. But now I'm second-guessing everything... why shouldn't I just invest in a beefier unit now? Something that might actually handle this 6750 in a Crossfire setup a year or two down the road...
Is anyone out there? Come on, hardware experts, help me out! 😁
@Jason Fisher59/">@@Jason Fisher59 Just grab a 4870... absolute beast of a card... a buddy of mine has one and says it performs beautifully... only catch is it pulls a lot of power, so if your PSU is weak, you might run into trouble...

Jeffrey Peterson said:Has anyone here actually messed around with Inter-Tech power supplies? A buddy of mine is running one right now and swears by it—claims everything is working just fine. He even mentioned they can handle some pretty beefy builds without breaking a sweat... Personally, I don't know. They look way too cheap to me. Feels like a gamble on reliability if you ask me. 🤷
Has anyone here actually messed around with Dell power supplies? A buddy of mine picked one up recently and he’s swearing by it—claims everything is running smooth. He even mentioned they handle high-end builds without breaking a sweat... I don't know. To me, they just look a little too budget-friendly to be legit, almost like they're cutting corners somewhere. 🤷
Forget about that XFX unit, honestly. I’m not exactly planning on dropping cash on a new power supply tomorrow, and the local shop doesn't even carry it—plus, seeing it on Newegg right now? Way too overpriced... so really, I just want to know what you guys think about these two specific options. Is the CX430 actually quiet enough to not drive me crazy?
I’ve been hunting for some advice on a quiet power supply for this specific setup: an Intel Core 2 Duo E5700, an ASUS EN210, an ASRock 4coredual-sata2, 2GB of DDR2, a 160GB HDD, and a DVD drive... and someone actually suggested the LC Power Super Silent Series 600W. Now, look, I was originally planning on grabbing a Corsair Series unit, but since I was handed this cheaper alternative, I can't help but wonder if it’s actually worth anything. I mean, 600W for $117... seems a bit sketchy (to put it bluntly, it feels like Scrap Yard) 😁... doesn't it?
And they’re nearly impossible to track down now... 🙄 I remember about six months back, I used to see that specific 512MB DDR5 model popping up all over the online retailers, but lately? Gone. Just vanished from the shelves...
Alright... but let's be real here, the fact remains that pairing a powerhouse GPU with a weak processor isn't going to do much for you—especially when you're looking at those frustratingly low FPS numbers in games, right?
Is it actually true that having a beefy graphics card doesn't mean much if the CPU just can't keep up? Like, if it's too weak? I was talking to a buddy about picking up this, but he told me the card wouldn't even matter because my Intel Core 2 Duo E5700 is way too slow to handle it... is there any truth to that? 🙂
I sent a message over to Tyndall nearly two weeks ago and haven't heard a single peep... yet I see some people who reached out after me have already had their nick changed... 🙂 😁

....can you please, just for the love of everything, explain to me what "modular" actually means? Thanks! 😁
