ruggedhawk20 said:Yeah, but that lead is shrinking. The gap between Mercedes and Red Bull back in Australia was massive compared to yesterday at the Circuit of the Americas. That's my point—Red Bull is closing in on them every single day.

And they haven't even "unlocked" the Renault engine yet.

We'll see what happens once that potential actually hits.

A lot of people mocked me for claiming the Renault engine is mechanically superior to the Mercedes one—that it has better, punchier torque. It’s just a matter of fixing the software; that's the only real bottleneck right now.

Joe, let's be real—they've still got plenty of room to improve and close that gap.

I'm gonna slide a little something into my aunt's purse at the local grocery store—with her $33 permission, obviously... 🤣😍☕

I'm with you on this one.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Ferrari—even if Free Practice 1 doesn't tell us much. At least they aren't completely falling apart or looking like total jokes, which is a change from what we've grown used to lately. Was there anything actually interesting happen during the session? Anything worth noting?

That’s exactly what I’m worried about—but hey, let's see how it plays out... ☕

You mean Lanny Barbie Esperanza Gomez. ☕

For me, it’s Ricciardo—pretty much the standard answer.
Or maybe Hulk, if we're picking the best of the rest?

Adrian Sutil... though his shelf life was probably a bit shorter. 😉

My bad, seriously. I just can't get into this whole Alonso vs Kimi thing regarding the Monaco Grand Prix. Sorry, it’s just not working for me. I tried to capture the vibe of that back-and-forth with three GIFs, but whatever...

Moderators, please delete my last two GIFs.
Thanks

EDIT: Had some extra time, so I just cleaned it up myself.

This whole Mercedes drama feels staged, honestly. It just screams dominance and untapped car potential. Everything became obvious after that first McLaren safety car caused the simultaneous pit stops; everything else was just theater for the octane circus.

Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, Felipe Massa, Kevin Magnussen, Esteban Ocon, Jenson Button and Jenson Button 🙏 Hats off to the young Frenchman—congrats on those first points.
I caught the Maestro on screen twice, both times clipping the chicane perfectly coming out of the tunnel. A bit too brief to make a real impression, though.

Sebastian Vettel is finally getting back what he’s been sowing over the last few seasons—I guess the universe eventually balances things out. Kimi had a great first half, but unfortunately, he got lost in a string of bad luck later on.

All in all, a solid weekend in Monaco. But Montreal is going to shuffle the deck again and maybe finally put some things in their rightful place.

Mark Lewis54 said:Look, you've got a point there—anything can happen. But I'm listening to the experts who say it wasn't intentional. Honestly, the most convincing take comes from the veteran drivers; based on how Miami moved, they’re saying it wasn't on purpose.

If you're talking about Herbert and Hill, then Herbert thinks it was intentional, while Hill doesn't. So yeah—it's basically a 50-50 split.

Mark Lewis54 said:Disaster. Sky is obsessing over the boxings and everyone’s basically claiming it was intentional..

Why is this suddenly such a disaster to you?! Formula 1 history is littered with this kind of crap—some of it isn't even that long ago.

I don't see why Rosberg couldn't try to make up for a lack of talent or raw pace by playing dirty—not saying he did, just saying it's entirely possible.

Lujo is going to catch him off guard tomorrow—honestly, if he doesn't, I don't know what will. It’s going to be absolute chaos at the St. Devote corner. ☕

Two Mercedes, two Ferraris, two Red Bull Racing, and two Haas made it into Q3. Toss in Kevin Magnussen and Sergio Perez, and there's your lineup. ☕
