I love my people more than anything else in the world, and we always come first for me—but I don't hate anyone, seriously. And no, I don't go around shouting ZDS or wearing any extremist symbols or whatever, because that stuff isn't actually about being patriotic, it's just plain stupid. I don't feel like I have to prove to anyone that I'm proud of where I'm from, especially not by acting like those kids at his concerts who have zero clue what they're even doing. They just scream "kill the enemy" and all that nonsense, which doesn't even make sense since plenty of people from the other side fought right alongside us in the war.

Plus, my neighbor is a Mexican, and honestly? I'd say he's more of a patriot than Thompson is. He's out there every single day grinding and trying to actually build something for this country, while Thompson just sings some songs and whines about patriotism. Most of what he does boils down to "I'm such a big patriot, I'm such a hero," blah blah blah. It makes it seem like you're only a true patriot if you listen to Thompson, and if you don't, you're a traitor, a Mason, a Jew, or some other crap.

So please, don't start coming at me with all that "traitor" and "Mason" nonsense. Just tell me—how exactly do you think Thompson represents our identity? And also, what on earth would a bunch of 15 or 16-year-olds know about history or political movements? Just to be clear, I don't support any of those old factions because, in my eyes, they were all criminals, but that's a whole different conversation...

EDIT: I gotta add one more thing. Are you even realizing how many people head straight to a country club to listen to pop singers right after an MPT show? But then, they're the loudest ones at his concert, waving flags and screaming slogans. Then they go party to pop music and sing along like crazy. That's probably 90% of those kids at his shows. Yet, those same kids are the first ones to talk trash about anyone who doesn't listen to Thompson, calling them traitors or whatever just because they spoke up against him. And I'll bet anything that Thompson himself listens to pop stars like a regular guy in his free time.

I honestly don't get why this thread is even still open. Like I said before, you just can't compare Thompson and Tony—they are polar opposites. I mean, I'll listen to Thompson, he's got some decent tracks, but as for dropping cash on his concerts or whatever cause he's pushing? Yeah, no way in hell.😁It's the same deal with Tony; sure, he has a few good songs, but generally speaking, I couldn't care less about him either. Neither of them is really my vibe, and it’s totally delusional to claim Thompson sings better than Tony since their voices aren't even in the same league.

Man, this whole debate about Tony and Thompson is just impossible to settle.
Tony is way better when you look at pure vocal talent, but Thompson? He’s definitely the better songwriter. Honestly, they both have this crazy charisma that draws people in—doesn't really matter what kind of crowd it is, I guess. Everyone has their own thing, right? Some people vibe more with Tony's stuff, others go for Thompson's. It just comes down to personal taste.
And honestly, that's pretty much where the conversation ends. You can't really compare them anymore or even argue about it because they're polar opposites. Like, their whole outlook on life is just totally different...

I'll be real, I don't really care deeply about either MPT or Tony—God rest his soul. I mean, obviously, I felt bad when such a young guy passed away, but his death didn't hit me any harder than, say, hearing about some guy dying in a car wreck yesterday and leaving a family behind. I feel for them, sure, but at the same time, it doesn't move me personally, and I just move on with my life. What is he to me?

So, here’s my situation. I’m 19 and really looking to get into BJJ. I'm based in the Chicago area, so I was wondering where all the clubs are at and if they actually take older beginners? Also, I’d love some advice—like, is BJJ or just submission grappling something that's actually safe to jump into? I'm not even talking about injuries, mostly just wondering about my build. I’m pretty tall, like 6'8", and weigh about 205 lbs, so I guess I'm wondering if being that tall is gonna be a total headache for wrestling-style sports.
I'm genuinely curious about this, but then again, if I’m way too tall, I doubt any real pro would recommend anything else that might fit me better.

I mean, looking at the domestic league, everyone already knows how this goes. The Los Angeles Lakers are just gonna steamroll through everything. I guess some teams might even throw a game here or there just to line some pockets, you know?😉 As for the Champions League, they’ll definitely cruise through the group stage. I honestly think they could make it all the way to the semifinals, but then we'll just have to wait and see.
