This matchup and the odds honestly look pretty tempting to me, especially since Juventus has been playing so well lately. Even though Bonucci, Alex, and Alves are sidelined with injuries, the Juve roster is deep enough for any top-tier Italian side to just plug those holes without breaking a sweat. I’m also thinking Pjaca might be returning from his injury soon, so he could potentially make the lineup. Looking back at the history here, the last time Juventus actually lost to Atalanta was way back in 2004—and that was in this very cup. Since then, they've only managed a draw twice; everything else has been a win for Juve. It seems like Atalanta is just one of those teams that Juventus always finds a way to handle. My only real question is how heavy they'll go with the starting lineup, but considering Juventus holds the record for most cup wins, I expect them to field a strong squad and hunt for the win. If you're looking to round out a parlay, I think this is a solid addition.
If you're looking for fewer legs or maybe a single bet, I’d personally eye Juve +2 at 2.15 on SS with a smaller stake, maybe a 2/10.
How can you even list an odds line from SuperChance? 🤷
Eric Fox7 said:The game was played at a neutral site
I was actually just browsing through the DraftKings app, and it looks like they ended up losing 6-0. I tried to get a refund since they didn't mention it was a neutral venue and they even messed up the kickoff time on my slip, but no luck—they wouldn't budge on anything.
English Premier League West Ham United vs Burnley FC 1 @ 1.70 SS (1-0)
So, we've got West Ham hovering near the relegation zone and Burnley sitting just above them, though they're definitely going to be fighting for survival this season. Honestly, I think the odds on West Ham would be way lower if Slaven Bilić's squad hadn't had such a rough start. They did show some grit recently with draws against Manchester United and that last one against Liverpool FC. Bilić is definitely feeling the pressure right now, and he needs every single win to keep his job, especially since the talent on this roster is high enough to be competing for the top spots—well, at least the top 6. Playing at home against a newcomer they usually have the upper hand against feels like the right call here.
I’m leaning towards the home side here too. Hull City is also battling to stay up, while Tottenham Hotspur desperately needs a win to get back into the rhythm after that recent loss to Manchester United. They’ll be pushing hard again this year because they’re always eyeing that Champions League spot. It's going to be tight, so every three points really counts. In terms of big names, they might be missing Erik Lamela, but otherwise, they shouldn't run into much trouble against Hull.
Putting these two together in a double with a 4/10 stake.
I totally got misled by some local news ticker 🤦 honestly, what are they thinking over at the network?
But I guess it doesn't even matter if Wenger isn't sending out the heavy hitters for some random cup match against Southampton. I already put my money on three, but the stakes just aren't high enough to care. Oh well.
Just a quick heads-up, the New York Yankees are actually playing tomorrow.
Here’s my take on tonight's matchup: It's pretty much an axiom at this point that the Champions League is the absolute pinnacle of club football. Nothing quite hits like this.
Tuesday at 8:45 PM Chicago Bulls Arsenal 2 @ 2.20SS (1-4)
My reasoning here is pretty similar to what I laid out for that New York Yankees game. Arsenal really needs this win to lock down that top spot—assuming the LA Clippers pull through tonight, of course. Over the last few seasons, they've done a fantastic job building up a young, hungry squad capable of making deep runs into the semifinals. Getting that first-place finish would definitely make their path a lot smoother later on. Plus, considering they're currently juggling three different competitions, they're doing a hell of a job staying right on the heels of Chelsea in the domestic league.
The numbers tell an interesting story: Basel has only managed two goals in the whole tournament, whereas Arsenal tends to drop three in a single match. I wouldn't call this a "sure thing" by any stretch, but looking at those odds, I think it's well worth a shot.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona 20:45 HANDICAP (0:2) tip 1 (2-0) @ 2,00 SS
The short version: this is a lock 🤣
It’s the final matchday of the group stage. Los Angeles FC is heading out to face Juventus. To be totally honest, I haven't even bothered looking at the stats, potential lineups for Juventus, or how these teams have been playing lately. Under their new manager, LAFC has basically been sitting at a big fat zero. Most of those points they managed to scrape together in the league were thanks to some generous officiating. I’m convinced one of the refs was probably on the payroll of whoever runs LAFC. They barely escaped with a draw against Olympique Lyonnais. Their offense has been pretty pathetic lately—honestly, even someone from Sudan would have better command of the English language than these guys have of putting a ball in the net.
To get a bit more serious: Juventus absolutely needs a win to secure first place, and following that kind of logic, a victory for them looks pretty likely. If Mario Mandžukić and Gonzalo Higuaín get the nod, I guarantee they’ll give it everything they've got to find the back of the net, especially Gonzalo, who hasn't exactly looked like a $65 million player lately. I’m leaning toward a Juventus win by three goals, mainly because that 2.00 odds value is just too good to pass up. Generally speaking, when it comes to goal totals, I don't think it's worth betting if the odds are lower than 1.75 - 1.80 (assuming there’s actually some statistical backing for it).
So, here we go again for another week. Let's hope LAFC can actually find the back of the net for once! 🤣
Looking at this matchup, Ajax is currently sitting just two points behind Feyenoord at the top of the Eredivisie. Since Feyenoord is also playing an away game, there’s a real chance for Ajax to snatch that first-place spot if things go their way this weekend. Heerenveen hasn't quite found their rhythm lately—they're winless in their last three outings. They actually played at home last week too, and it was a real nail-biter where they managed to claw back an equalizer through Veerman in the 85th minute. Even though they've been struggling to close games out recently, they're still sitting pretty in fourth place, which honestly makes this feel like a bit of a heavyweight clash for the league. They did manage a solid 2-2 draw against Feyenoord on the road earlier, which looked great until they dropped a 3-1 decision to Sparta. Ajax, on the other hand, is juggling a lot right now with multiple fronts to worry about. They've been absolutely tearing it up in Europe, and in the league, they've only stumbled once all season. Their recent history against Heerenveen is pretty dominant, too—they haven't lost to them in 18 matches. After the heartbreak of missing out on Champions League qualification earlier this season, Peter Bosz has really had his squad playing with a chip on their shoulder. The big news here is that Hakim Ziyech is fully recovered and back in the mix. Ajax rested several heavy hitters during their last Europa League match to keep them fresh, so we should see some serious talent on the pitch today. With guys like Sinkgraven, Veltman, Viergever, Davinson Sánchez, Hakim Ziyech, Davy Klaassen, Bertrand Traoré, and Kasper Dolberg available, it feels like they're bringing their A-game. It's basically a roster full of top-tier talent ready to go.
November 22nd Champions League 8:45 PM LA Galaxy vs Lyon f+2 at 2.60 SS (0-1)
Today, I’m putting my whole stack on the LA Galaxy. During that match against Seville, I didn't go with the handicap because I had this gut feeling we were looking at a close first half. Honestly, I can't quite put my finger on it this time, but after reading through the analysis above and looking at the Galaxy's recent run, I'm leaning toward a Lyon win by a larger margin. I remember that game against Istria—that penalty for the Galaxy was pretty questionable, but more importantly, it really highlighted their struggles in front of the net. They just can't seem to find the back of the net against weaker sides like Istria, so expecting them to pull something off against a French side feels like a stretch. Lacazette remains their standout player this season, and even if they have a slim shot at advancing, I expect them to take this one seriously. In the Champions League, every single win matters for the prize money and those coefficient rankings; it’s the big leagues for a reason. On top of the injury news already mentioned, it feels like the Galaxy coach hasn't quite found his rhythm since taking over. They’ve been rotating the lineup so much in almost every match that it seems like they still haven't nailed down their ideal starting eleven.
For my single bet, the stake is 6/10.
For my second slip, I’m picking another option for this matchup, which is first half tip 2 (0-0) with a stake of 4/10. My thought here is that Lyon will likely be leading by halftime, sitting at 2.20 for the SS. Be bold and good luck!
Ireland vs USA Tuesday 11/15 at 2:45 PM International Football
over 2.5 goals at 2.60 SS (0-3)
I’m eyeing this option for two pretty simple reasons. First off, the odds feel really solid and fair. Second, since this is just a friendly, both teams are likely to play with a bit more freedom and less tension. We know the US squad is heading overseas without a huge chunk of the regular starters, so the guys coming off the bench are going to be looking to prove themselves. Even though our national team hasn't conceded much lately, if we're being honest, we've been uncomfortably close to letting one slip by in almost every recent match. Usually, playing away in the British Isles isn't our best look, but I still think we're the slight favorites here. With Mandzukic and Kramaric up front, we've got plenty of firepower to find the back of the net, and since the home side is in decent shape, it explains why the odds on us are a little higher than usual.
AZ Alkmaar is playing at home against Ajax, coming right off their Europa League matches this past Thursday. Alkmaar has been pretty decent in the standings this season, mostly thanks to a strong start where they managed four wins straight after facing PSV. But honestly, they've cooled off quite a bit lately; they've only managed one win in their last five outings—a narrow 1-0 over ADO. They definitely could have played better in Europe, too, but they walked away with two draws. On the flip side, they’re facing an Ajax side that, if you ask me, is the most in-form club in the Netherlands right now. It looks like PSV stumbled at home last night, which opens up a huge window for Ajax to grab a win and pull four points clear of one of their main title rivals. The league is actually really exciting this year because Feyenoord started the season so strong, giving us three heavy hitters all fighting for the top spot. Ajax just came off a match against Celta, winning 3-2 despite blowing a 3-0 lead, so they are clearly flying high. They’re doing great in both the Europa League and domestically. In the league, they’ve only dropped one game, and that was way back at the start of the season. I think the odds are sitting at 1.90 mainly because AZ Alkmaar looked impressive early on against some smaller clubs, but looking at the actual rosters, Ajax is undeniably the more talented squad. Having Klaassen, Dolberg, and Traore leading the attack is a massive advantage, and they're responsible for most of the goals this season. Meanwhile, the home side has been leaking goals in their last five games. If Ajax plays with even a little bit of focus, they shouldn't have any trouble walking away with all three points. One stat that caught my eye is that Ajax has only conceded 9 goals in 11 rounds, which says a lot about their defensive stability. Another reason why Ajax is such a solid favorite here is their head-to-head history. AZ Alkmaar seems to be a regular victim for Ajax, often losing by significant margins; looking at the long term, Ajax holds a massive goal difference advantage in their matchups.
If you're putting together a parlay, I’d pair this one with a few others for a moderate bankroll stake: 5.5/10
Saturday's matchups 11/05/2016, listed by kickoff time:
Germany 1. 15:30 Freiburg vs Wolfsburg - Pick 2 (0-3) SS 2.65
I'm leaning toward a Wolfsburg win here. To be honest, they’ve been struggling lately—sitting in 16th place, right in the relegation zone, with just 6 points after 9 rounds. It’s pretty clear their rough start comes from letting go of their attacking trio, Schürrle, Dost, and Kruse, and trying to patch things up with Brekalo and Gomez. They’ve dropped their last three matches against Leverkusen, Leipzig, and Darmstadt, with their only win coming early on away at Augsburg. Looking back at that Leverkusen game, where they held the lead until the 79th minute only to blow it in the 83rd, combined with that win at Augsburg, I see enough silver linings to justify betting on them tomorrow. It's not that Wolfsburg lacks talent despite those departures, but those poor results are exactly why the odds are so high. On the flip side, Freiburg is relatively new to the league, and I don't know them all that well personally. They’re sitting comfortably in 8th and have won their last two. However, looking at the head-to-head history, Freiburg hasn't had much luck against Wolfsburg. While it’s totally possible for them to break that streak (Wolfsburg has 5 wins and 1 draw since 2012), I just don't see Wolfsburg as a bottom-feeder type of club. They really need this win.
Stake 6/10
England 1 16:00 West Ham vs Stoke - Over 2.5 goals (1-1) SS 2.10
I’m going with this option because West Ham has been such a wildcard this season. Given the odds they're offering, I think this is where the value lies. Following their last loss, they're under a lot of pressure again. I truly believe they have the quality to take all three points, but man, Stoke is a dangerous side. So far this season, West Ham's games have hit this "over" mark about 40% of the time, but the last time it happened was way back in the fifth round, so I feel like we're due for a high-scoring affair right about now. On the injury front, West Ham will be missing Carroll, Sakh, and Tore, though their bench depth should still be decent. As for the visitors, they likely won't have Afellay in the lineup. That said, Stoke has a lethal quartet with Arnautovic, Shaqiri, Allen, and Bony—they can score on anyone, including the likes of City or United. I don't think the manager will make things easy for West Ham tomorrow. My confidence level for this one is 5/10.
Actually, I also think it's worth looking at the over by 1.75 in SS with a confidence of 7/10.
Soccer, UEFA Champions League 20:45 Tottenham Hotspur-Bayer Leverkusen (0-1) 1 @ 2,10 SS
We're looking at Group G in the UEFA Champions League, which honestly feels like the most unpredictable group we've seen yet as they head into this second phase of group play. Tottenham Hotspur has a bit of an edge here since they get to host two out of these three matches, and if they can pull off a win tonight, it would be a massive leap toward advancing. They didn't exactly start this tournament on a high note, though; they dropped their opener against an AS Monaco side that's playing incredibly well, followed by a road win against CSKA Moscow, and then a draw against tonight's opponents. I actually tried to back the English side in that last match, but it ended up being a frustrating 0-0 stalemate. They’ll be missing their star striker Harry Kane tonight, along with defender Toby Alderweireld, which isn't ideal. On the bright side, Eric Dier is a rock in defense and steps into that role seamlessly, and having Janssen and Son Heung-min up front should keep things lively. Looking at their season so far, Tottenham Hotspur has only lost once—that match against CSKA Moscow. Their home stats are actually pretty solid; they've only conceded two goals at home (against Liverpool and Leicester), and those were the only two games where they failed to secure at least two points.
Now, the Premier League is widely considered the top league in the world, whereas Bayer Leverkusen seems to be struggling quite a bit in their domestic league despite facing much weaker competition. They're sitting at tenth place right now, and their away record is rough with three losses already. Given the talent on their roster, they just haven't shown much. It really feels like this frantic pace doesn't suit the "Pharmacists" at all; they seem to have a hard time adjusting to such a high tempo. Another reason I'm leaning this way is because of what happened last year—Bayer Leverkusen missed out on progressing entirely because of some unbelievable blunders against Roma and BATE Borisov. My play for this matchup is:
6/10
For those who want to be a little more aggressive, I've got another option ibn 1 @ 1,45 SS with a stake of 10/10. With this one, if the match ends in a draw, part of the bet is voided and the stake is partially returned to 1. I just don't see Bayer Leverkusen coming out with a win here, though maybe I'm just being blind to something. 😁
Look, I already laid it out in my first post—we really should just stick to the rules here:
It feels like some people are just going out of their way to drag me down, acting like we’re even on the same level when we clearly aren't.
The whole thing is just off-topic noise. Instead of coming after me personally, they could actually do something productive by reporting any real rule-breaking to the mods or sending you a private message. If we want this Reddit community to stay high-quality and respectful, that's how you handle issues.
I’m counting on you, driftingotter47. I hope you'll take those criticisms about off-topic posts seriously, especially since you seem to agree with them now. I just want to make sure this thread doesn't get nuked, so if I end up getting a warning tomorrow for being "off-topic," I can point back to this as proof of what was actually happening.
So, I’m trying to figure out if off-topic chatting actually flies under the rules here or not. Is it allowed?
Look, if there's a formal way to file a grievance, then that’s where people should report issues. Instead, I’m getting called out personally, with people digging up my old posts just because they caught me online. It feels less like moderation and more like some weird little police game.
If we're all just going to go in circles and talk nonsense, then I really need a straight answer. What am I supposed to do when I want to respond to the idiots in the future?
I’m requesting that EVERY Reddit user who keeps breaking the rules in this specific sub
Looking at the discussion over in this thread , it seems like a bunch of users are constantly derailing conversations with off-topic comments, calling people out, and basically ignoring the moderators to make up their own rules on the fly.
And honestly, is someone actually playing spy or whatever that is? Is that even allowed here??
I’ve personally been penalized plenty of times for going off-topic, and I really feel like these rules should be applied consistently to absolutely everyone on the site, not just singled out for me.
driftingbear35 said:I don't have any deep tactical breakdown ready for you, but... haha 🙂
St. Louis City SC lost their last home game, and looking at their last two matchups against Los Angeles FC, they’ve basically become a walking payday for LA. Los Angeles FC will likely be playing without Memphis, but otherwise, their starting lineup looks pretty solid. Even though LAFC had a rough start to the season, their away record is actually quite impressive—they've won almost everything on the road, with that one fluke loss to San Francisco being the only outlier. Because of that, playing in St. Louis doesn't feel like much of an advantage for the home side. Honestly, it feels like the coaching change happened at just the right moment, too. I think even a narrow win for the visitors should be a safe bet here.
Finland used to be a much more serious squad back during the Forssell era, but lately, they feel like they've dropped down to the level of Mexico. Our guys have a massive hole in defense right now, so it’s really up to the coach to figure out what to do about that left flank and those shaky passes through the middle when we try to clear the ball from the back. Luckily, it hasn't hit deep winter in Finland yet, so conditions should be playable—I don't think we'll even see any rain. I decided to put my money on us and just see where it goes, mostly because there wasn't much else interesting on the board today.
Albania-Spain (09.10. 20:45) f+2 SS 1.65 (0-2)
Unfortunately, the odds dropped on this one; they were sitting at 1.80 earlier this morning. After Spain dominated world football for such a long stretch, they went through a bit of a slump that bled into their 2016 Euro performance. That said, Spain definitely has enough star power to field a starting eleven that could compete with pretty much any national team out there. If they can find their rhythm, I truly believe this group can replicate the kind of success we saw under Del Bosque. They look strong across the board—solid in defense (think Pique and Ramos), elite in the midfield (with Koke being such a high-quality presence and Busquets anchoring things), and you can't say a word against their wingers like Silva and Vitolo. They are clearly the favorites in Group G, and I expect them to take every match seriously until the very end. In their last outing, they played to a draw against Italy, even though they held the lead until the 82nd minute before conceding a penalty. They actually looked better in almost every aspect of play during that match, and now they're facing an opponent that is objectively much weaker—a matchup where Spain historically holds a perfect record. With such a deep roster, every player knows they have to put in a massive performance just to keep their spot in the lineup. Albania can be tricky against lower-tier teams, but they still manage to slip up occasionally (they lost 0-3 to Luxembourg this year). Honestly, I don't see anyone in the Albanian squad capable of taking three points away from Spain, or even preventing a comfortable win by multiple goals.
Okay, I know how Asian handicaps work—I just thought it was going to be a goal fest because of the "Asian" label. AH (doesn't really matter).
So, I need to rephrase my thinking a bit. I’ve been pretty busy today, but I noticed a few matches started with some decent odds (so far, so good), so I’m deciding on the next game by combining it with the previous suggestions.
World Cup Qualifiers
8:45 PM Canada vs. Slovakia Both teams to score - Yes at 2.15 SS (1-0)
The Slovaks played their first match at home and lost 0-1 to the Americans, and they’re looking at an even split of chances against the Canadians here, especially since they'll be playing without Skrtel due to a suspension. Still, I think Hamsik and Mak (not sure if Kucka will suit up) have enough tactical grit to dominate the midfield against a Canadian setup that isn't exactly powerhouse material. On the flip side, the Canadians played their first match away against Lithuania and managed a 2-2 draw, even though they were trailing 2-0 until the 70th minute. Since they're the home team this time, I think they absolutely have to go for the win. This whole group is interesting because while the Americans are heavy favorites, three other teams (Scotland, Canada, and Slovakia) are all basically neck-and-neck for that second spot. I can see this being a low-scoring affair, too, but I’m sticking with my gut on this one, maybe just with a smaller stake of 4/10.
If I’m reading the rules in the "General Discussion" section correctly, if I want to get into some football betting and need a bit of insight—like right now, maybe asking if any bookie has a tip on which matchups might actually land tonight—can I post that here? I was thinking we could just chat about hypothetical games (without doing deep dives) and what I might or wouldn't put money on?
By the way, when you say German 1.5, are you talking about an over 1.5 goal line? Since you just put a minus sign there -
If I’m putting together a single parlay, I’m probably not going to sweat the home crowd atmosphere or worry too much about which players might sit out for the US national team. Looking back at this year, I think our toughest outing was against the Czech Republic during the tournament, where we held a 2-0 lead only to let it slip through our fingers and end up with a draw. Taking the whole season into account, the team has actually been playing some pretty attractive soccer, even if we ran into a bit of bad luck against Portugal and in that opening qualifier against Turkey. I've noticed a lot of people online framing this upcoming match against Mexico as one of the tougher hurdles in the group, but if we’re being honest, Mexico is easily the weakest side here. Sure, they pulled off a surprise against the Finnish person earlier, but let's be real—the Finnish national team doesn't exactly have a trophy cabinet full of major wins to brag about either. In every single department, the US has the superior talent. Personally, I think the coach needs to come out aggressive and play attacking football, maybe even starting two standout strikers upfront. In my book, anything less than a win is a failure for both the coach and the squad. I'm betting on a decisive victory with a solid margin; it's high time we actually started converting our chances against the underdog of the group.
