It’s wild how some local institutions just stay frozen in time for decades. I honestly thought the leadership in our local programs would never change, but seeing a long-standing streak finally break makes me wonder if everything is about to shift. Do you guys think a fresh face is actually better for a legacy program, or does it just mess with the tradition?

It’s true that trailers can be a bit of a flawed tool. So, like most people, I guess I never make any kind of final decision based solely on them.
I guess, aside from the bigger budget and a few recognizable names, I’m getting a vibe here that doesn't differ much from that top-tier masterpiece back in 2000. Maybe it's just me.

I guess I should probably say something here. Maybe. WarcraftMaybe yes, maybe no. I guess. Maybe Seventh Son wasn't exactly a masterpiece. I guess it was just okay.Maybe either. I guess. Eragon...or any other from the bunch. Fantasy is an interesting genre, I suppose. It’s certainly ambitious. The sheer amount of mediocrity that has flooded the American film market over the last two decades is, I guess, somewhat staggering. It’s been a relentless onslaught. 🤷

On the other hand, I also dealt with quite a few assholes, I guess. It feels like self-parody at this point. I guess. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. I guess it might actually be worth watching. I suppose we should get started. Maybe.Well, I suppose this might work.
If things head in that direction—which I suspect they might—then I guess we'll see. 😁I suppose there might eventually be a way to make it work, maybe. bluebison8 He says it's quite amusing, I suppose.

I got so used to Kevin's twisted character in that flick that I never really thought about who else could play him, though, I guess we can always mix and match actors for roles. It's wild seeing this pathetic guy being interrogated here (Leland Orser) playing a forced "executioner" using a specific kind of "tool" that—honestly—even horror buffs probably won't find easy to watch (when you think about what the victim actually went through), especially since just a few years later he's playing a deviant similar to Kevin in "Bone Collector."

Sometimes the way things happen is way scarier than the actual weapon or tool or even the atmosphere of a scene where an axe or some amount of nasty blood just can't compete. So, while this topic is pretty specific, it could totally be expanded, or maybe it'd work better as its own thread about "cult" moments in thrillers or horror that left people feeling uneasy, if not straight-up terrified.

I don't know which of the "seven" was more unsettling, scary, or gross for me, and I don't even need to mention the ending of the movie. Sadly, that stuff isn't just fiction captured by a director's lens. Also, "Bone Collector" holds its own when it comes to those "flashes" of a warped mind (or just ripping ideas from crime novels).

I can't find any full scenes from "Bone Collector" (like the one with the rats, man, it's not showing up, probably copyright issues or whatever); here's one that's creepy enough for the vibe:

Watching this for the first time as a kid left a permanent mark on my memory, and not in a good way.

I’ve seen much more grotesque, disturbing, and psychologically taxing stuff in movies since then,
but this was one of the first, and the thought of it has always lingered in the back of my mind.

I’ve watched the film a dozen times, and judging by the last 10 seconds of this scene,
it always felt like Mills and Somerset were only just realizing how truly messed up this individual really is.

Top-tier scene, top-tier acting, and in my opinion, still the best film ever made within this genre.

There isn't any violence in the scene per se, but it's implied, which serves as its own warning. I won't be posting a picture of the weapon.

And to connect a little trivia to my previous post,
the guy being interviewed by Mills (Pitt's character) is the actor who shot Brandon Lee on the set of crow.

I happened to stumble upon a movie the other day, and I must say, it was pretty chilling. I guess. The plot seems thin, I guess. Maybe it’s just me. He plays an action star who gets killed off during a movie shoot, I guess. Maybe.
If they had used a real bullet instead of a prop, his son might have actually ended up killed on set fifteen years later. I guess it was just a matter of time. The Crow.

The movie is pretty mediocre, but let’s be honest—seeing Connery play Arthur might be enough alone to make the snowy scenery, the pig-like eyes, and that irritating Ormondica tolerable.

He was one of my favorite actors from the '90s and early 2000s, I guess.
The guy had everything, especially an incredible amount of talent.
It's a shame he just vanished so suddenly. I would have liked to see him in more movies.

Yeah, honestly this thread probably shouldn't have all the "too graphic" scenes, but some are so intense, how do you even skip them? 🙂

To me, it remains one of cinema's greatest treasures—perhaps the only pure, soulful adaptation of the Arthurian legend.
Even thirty years after my first viewing, it’s still the first image that flashes in my mind whenever I hear the word sword.

A terrible Poirot. Both his performance and the film itself.

I haven't seen Potter, but his Henry V is perhaps the best Shakespeare adaptation I've ever seen.
Even Hamlet isn't bad—even if Gibson makes him look a bit rough here—but I suppose I can forgive him anything because of Henry.
