IRS and Tax Filing Issues in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Hannah Harris6 said:Hi there!
I’m looking for a little bit of guidance here. My annual digital certificate subscription expires on November 15th every year. The IRS just sent over an invoice for the base amount $130 plus sales tax. Here’s the kicker: I’m currently in the middle of closing down my LLC through that streamlined process they introduced back in April 2019, which should wrap up by December 31st, 2019. Since the business will technically be considered closed at that point, even though I still need to file certain forms (like those for the Treasury or other filings), am I stepping into any legal gray areas if I keep my access to the e-filing portal active? I tried calling TaskRabbit for some clarity, but they couldn't really give me a straight answer. Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences? Thanks in advance!

On a related note—but also totally unrelated—
Do they send the invoice before or after the certificate actually expires? Since the certifications last for two years—I mean, when exactly does that bill show up?
I’m losing my mind here—I've been banging my head against the wall for two days trying to fix this myself, and I'm officially out of ideas. Here’s the deal:

The laptop I'm working with is a Dell Latitude 5400. It doesn't have an HDMI port, just VGA. I have a Dell Docking Station at two different locations—and of the "useful" video outputs, it only has an HDMI port. At one site, it's hooked up to a Dell monitor and works perfectly.

But at the other site, I'm using a Philips LCD monitor that only takes HDMI. Since I have an HDMI to HDMI converter, I had the whole thing running without a hitch for about six months. And then suddenly—poof—nothing. I thought maybe the converter finally died, or maybe it was the docking station. So, I brought over a second docking station—still nothing. A second converter—nothing. Just constant "NO SIGNAL."

Tried the usual suspects—updated the graphics drivers—no luck.
Updated the docking station drivers—nothing.

At first, I could at least see the macOS boot screen when I turned it on before it hit "no signal" on the LCD, but now I can't even get that. Which makes me think it’s probably a software issue... but what else is left to try? 😵

Today's email exchange.

"Our client purchased investment gold at either our New York City or New York City branch. We can only process buybacks in cash if we happen to have sufficient funds on hand when you arrive."

I can't help but feel—especially after that recent robbery—that they might be running a bit low on liquid cash. Today, they told me they could buy back three Philharmonic coins 😁 😁

Anyway, let me know how the deal goes—I'm really curious to see what happens 😉

Just wanted to pass along the answer I got from Mora—turns out there aren't different exchange rates.

"If your gold wasn't originally purchased through us, we'll just wire the payout directly to your account—you can choose between dollars or euros, whichever works best for you.
The funds hit your account the same day if you get here by 2:00 PM; otherwise, it'll be in by 11:00 AM the next day.
The Purchase price is simply whatever you see listed under the 'Purchase price' column, and we lock that rate in the moment you arrive. If you need to see the conversion to euros, just hover your mouse over the price for a second. We use the specific rate posted right on our website."

Is cash&carry gone for good? Or is that just for larger amounts now?

Are you selling back in Austria or staying local here?
I was looking at the rates online—it looks like someone in Italy pays maybe an ounce or two less than they do in Austria. Though, if you're looking at the sale side, the spread makes the trip worth it anyway.

Since this new app for disability claims is out—and most of my forms are basically identical to last year's—is there any way to just upload my old paperwork? (Or am I stuck spending two whole days clicking through everything again?)

Do I just clear it out in Chrome from that same list in my trusted folder, or is it tucked away somewhere else too?

Regarding the installation—should I go through that whole process using the FinTech app, or is it enough to just hit "make available" in the active client?

Thanks for the help! 😉

Carol Price4 said:Once you plug the key in, go down to the taskbar, open the active client, right-click the certificate, and select "make available in Windows"—do that for both of them. That might be the hiccup! After that, check your Chrome settings to make sure it's in the trusted root tab—you'll need to see fin RDC 2015 there...

I've gone through every single step—all the certificates are exactly where they should be...
but it doesn't matter—it isn't even asking for my PIN, it just jumps straight to

Having some trouble with the IRS e-filing system—has anyone dealt with something similar lately?

I run my own bookkeeping business, and honestly, it was my own oversight—I missed the deadline to renew a client's digital certificate. (I work directly with their security tokens)

The client went ahead and filed a request for a reissue through Chase, then handled the power of attorney with the IRS (since they're brothers sharing one token). By the next day, I had the new token with the updated certificates. I installed everything, they show up fine in the active client software, and I can see they were issued yesterday and are valid for two years. But when I try to log in? Nothing happens.

Using Chrome, after I select the certificate, it just throws a proxy connection error. Using IE, it says no certificate was even selected. I called Chase (their support line), and they were super helpful—they confirmed the certificate is totally fine and told me to contact the IRS. So I called the IRS, and the agent there said everything looks processed and updated on their end, so it *should* be working. They suggested I just email the e-filing help desk.

The thing is, I sent that email back on Thursday—complete with screenshots—and, naturally, I haven't heard a peep. It’s already the 20th...😵

Sam Cook10 said:I ran into this exact same headache, and after a fair amount of overthinking, I finally cracked it. It’s a bit of a workaround, but it works. If the asset isn't being used or hasn't been written off yet, just set the write-off rate to 0%. If it's already sold—meaning no depreciation was taken—and it’s fully written off, go with 100%. Now, if it's been sold but you *did* account for depreciation, you have to reverse-engineer their math to find the specific rate that satisfies that whole "Net Value * rate / 100" formula they insist on. It feels a bit silly, honestly, but it's the only way to get past the system. In my case, I calculated it as (Book Value * 100) / Net Value. I got lucky and ended up with exactly 27.5%, and it cleared without a hitch.

So, what should I enter if it's still in use, but we didn't run any depreciation for 2015? 😵

Just a quick heads-up—if the rules allow it—bet365 is actually offering 1.95 on that same outcome.

Just wanted to ask before I make my first deposit... are there any welcome bonuses running at BetMGM right now? 🙄

I've skimmed through the last ten pages or so, but I haven't seen anything specific regarding my question—so apologies if I'm bringing up a stale topic... plus, the internet at my job is slow as hell ☕

Anyway, after being clean for about 5 or 6 years, I've decided to start betting online again 😁
A colleague recommended FanDuel, so I set up a (new) account—since I have a new email and couldn't get into my old one. Since I noticed Moneybookers (aka PayPal nowadays) isn't quite what it used to be—and my old account is locked 😢—I'd rather avoid any hassle there. I don't plan on depositing or withdrawing massive sums, so I just sent a transfer via my Chase bank account (which I also use for PayPal). I see on the FanDuel site that this is an option—but I'm wondering—are there any issues with depositing or withdrawing that way?

The second thing I'm curious about—are there any first deposit bonuses? I tried Googling "FanDuel bonus," and a ton of different codes popped up. I tried entering the promo code "MAXBONUS"—and I'm just wondering—will my deposit actually be doubled (followed by the usual wagering requirements like the good old days), or is that not how it works anymore?

So, thanks for any answers or clarifications... 🙂

Sorry for jumping in out of nowhere like this;
I haven't really been betting with offshore books in a while—I've still got accounts open at places like DraftKings, Pinnacle, and Gamebookers, but they've just been sitting idle for a long time... 😁
Back when I was actually active, I used to move my funds through Moneybookers (which I see is Skrill now).

I’m looking to deposit a little bit of cash just to have some action on handball—nothing serious, purely recreational, no massive stakes or big withdrawals—just enough to throw some singles down since it feels like we're basically handing our money over to these local sharks here...

Does the old trick of depositing discreetly with a Visa and then withdrawing back to the same card still work? (Or is there a reason why hardly anyone does that anymore, if I'm seeing things correctly)?
Do you guys recommend opening an account somewhere else entirely, or...?

Thanks for the advice 😁
Got another quick question—this one should be pretty simple 😁

I've got a cell, say A1, containing a number like 013 (it's either formatted as text or using a custom format for three digits)—the key part is that first zero.

In another spot in my spreadsheet, I have some text, and I'm pulling that number from A1 into the string (using something like ... &TEXT(A1;2) ). The issue is that "013" keeps showing up without the leading zero, and I really need that zero in there 😁

Any help would be appreciated.
My access to that macro station is blocked, but that first code from Kyle Johnson2 works like a charm—it was exactly what I needed, thanks!
I think you misunderstood my point— 😁
names and numbers can stay in their own cells, but what I really need is for the names from the second column to be paired up with the amounts in the first one... basically grouping them all together.
I think I have a pretty simple question here:

I've got this Excel sheet with four columns

Mark 200 Pero 300
Pero 900 George 100
Chicago 300 New York City 400
Los Angeles 500
George 500
New York City 50

What's the best way to combine the names from both columns? 😁
Basically, I'm looking to get this

Mark 200
Pero 900 Pero 300
Chicago 300
Los Angeles 500
George 500 George 100
New York City 50 New York City 400

Thanks!

Dana Flores3 said:From what I know—none of our stingy local sportsbooks offer any deposit bonuses, and on top of that, they all hit you with transaction fees...

Just head overseas... Bet365, Pinnacle...

That’s actually my plan too (I’ve got SS and William Hill, but I’m pretty fed up with the low odds and those fees)

Well, I was thinking about the overseas options too.. 😉
I'm checking out an expert's offers right now, and it looks like there's up to a 50 Euro bonus on the first deposit... 🤣
But the first deposit is still an issue.. I see my PayPal is locked up.. man, so much going on lately... haha
