Reminds me of that Manchester City captain crash—you know, when he picked up that Indian family in their little purple car and ended up killing two people.
😢
Man, another legend gone way too soon—RIP to the Flash. 😢

Well, we absolutely crushed them, you moron. 🙏
🤣
Watching Krpan miss those shots against Romania—seriously, hitting the target from five yards out twice in a row? That’s just Stele's luck at this point. 🤣
Can we please just get off the national team topic? Thanks.
I don't even have a driver's license. ☕
He’s absolutely killing it at practice 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Yeah. It’ll keep dragging on—right up until the moment you finally turn your back. ☕
Robin Fox2, man, get off this site—you've got a friendly match waiting for you down in Florida. ☕ Sportivo24 and Noah Ross7 too.

And man, what a slap in the face. 🙏
graniteotter6 said:Mićko, if you pull the trigger on this, people are going to flock to it. It’s a solid concept, and I’m fully behind it. I suppose I should sit down and actually parse through the rulebook before I make a formal suggestion, but overall, the vision is excellent. By the way, the finals really ought to feature two players. Who cares if there aren't many matches in the semifinals? You'll still rack up plenty of points regardless of the sample size. Again, I’ll need to look closer at the details first.
We don't necessarily need 32 participants; for our tournament, 24 players would be plenty—essentially eight groups of three, with one person getting a bye. If we end up somewhere between 24 and 32, some groups will just have three people while others have four, and two move on. Just drop a few national teams and we're good to go.
Following the recent trend seen in places like London or Sochi, I’ll preemptively set the stage with a title: "The World Cup through the lens of the US Soccer Federation." ☕ I just hope nobody tries to screw me over. 🙂
I can do 24 too; thought of that a bit later. 🤣
Alright, I'll start the thread now so people can begin signing up.
I’ll open up the sign-up thread and the chat room shortly—just gonna hang back for a bit to see what everyone else is thinking regarding the semi-final and final rosters. A few days before we kick things off, I’ll also get the thread going for posting scores and stats. There should be plenty of interest, I reckon. But let's be real: if we can't pull together a full 32 players, the whole thing isn't happening. ☕
We can hammer out those final details—provided he’s actually a decent tipster—because I'm really not looking to collect any yellow cards here... I just wanted to gauge the mods' vibes and see what the rest of the crew thinks about my proposal.
I'll take a fantasy one. ☕
Here’s how I’d run it—give me your thoughts before I pull the trigger and start a thread:
1. signups
There's room for 32 players to sign up—everyone gets randomly assigned a national team from the tournament. Simple enough.
Basically, every player is going to be facing off against another one based on how their national teams matched up in the first round—sort of like a mirror image of the opening bracket.
Like if a player gets drafted to play for Team USA—they’re playing against Mexico, then Cameroon, then Brazil.
2. rules
Round one—let’s go.
Before that first whistle blows for any given round—three rounds ahead, naturally—every player posts their picks for all 16 games:
* nailing the exact score = 3 points
* nailed the exact difference = 2 points
* correct guess = 1 point
Say, if it’s USA vs. Brazil and we end up at 3-1—but Player A calls it 1-0, they walk away with just 1 point; call it 4-2, they get 2 points; call it exactly 3-1, and they snag all 3. Simple enough, right?
The winner for this round is whoever racks up more points—they walk away with three—and a tie earns you just one. Simple enough.
It’s basically 3 sets of 16 games—then everyone in first and second place moves to the next round, paired up like A1 vs B2, C1 vs D2, and so on. Just like a real tournament setup. Even the tie-breakers follow the standard rules. ☕
Round of 16, game two.
So, all eight matchups are set—and here’s how the points stack up:
Winner gets one point. Simple as that.
So, imagine this—Brazil beats Chile 3-0, but some player calls it 4-0 and walks away with one point instead. Just typical stuff.
If you pull off a draw but grab the win in overtime or via a shootout—that’s 2 points on the board.
So, say France and Nigeria tie 1-1—France moves on. But if a player calls it a 2-2 draw and then France wins it on penalties? That’s 2 points. If they call it a 2-2 tie but Nigeria ends up taking the whole thing—that's just 1 point. Simple enough, right?
Exact score = 3 points.
Say, like if the US played Chile and it ended 3-0—if a player calls that exact score, they snag 3 points. Simple as that.
Score a perfect draw—meaning you nail the exact scoreline before heading into overtime or a penalty shootout—and you walk away with 5 points.
So, say France and Nigeria tie 1-1. If you call it a draw but then bet on France to win the shootout—bagging 5 points—while Nigeria ends up taking the whole tournament with just 2 points... that’s some wild math right there.
Bonus info—if a player nails 6 out of 8, they grab 3 points; 7 out of 8 gets them 4; and if you go a perfect 8 for 8, you walk away with 6.
The player with more points wins—straight to the quarterfinals they go. Simple as that.
Game 2 of the quarterfinals.
It’s basically like the round of 16—except instead of eight matchups, they’re just throwing four pairs at us. Real efficient.
Bonus rule—if you nail 3 out of 4 semifinalists, you grab 1 point; if you go 4 for 4, you get 3 points. Easy enough.
Second semi-final, third-place match, then the big finale.
They're running both rounds at once just because there aren't enough games—classic.
The player hands over their picks to the host—then we just play by the standard tournament rules for the round of sixteen and quarterfinals across all four games.
Plus, besides his usual finishing touch, he’s throwing in extra combos for all the other potential matchups—just because.
So, here’s how it works: if you pick the USA, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil for the semis, and then nail the third-place match and the final—great. But—and this is the kicker—if you miss even one semifinal winner, the whole strategy falls apart. You’ll end up scrambling and sending in different combos just to salvage the last two games. Though, if you actually call the semifinal winners correctly? You snag a 5-point bonus. Simple enough, I guess.
Post some pictures already—it’s impossible to follow this without them.

Happy 50th birthday to Rocco Siffredi! 🙏
Yeah, honestly... I can't decide what's worse—their actual job performance or Perišić just throwing his hands up in the air like that. 🤣
