Lately, I’ve been dealing with a massive health crisis and I am at my wits' end.
Here is the rundown: I haven't had mouth ulcers in years, yet suddenly I’m getting THREE in a single week. My tonsils are aching, swallowing has become difficult, and food keeps going down the wrong pipe—it’s pure chaos in my throat, causing this constant scratching and pain. My eyes are perpetually bloodshot (dilated capillaries, seriously, all the time). My lips are constantly dry and cracking, and no amount of ChapStick helps. My nails have become sensitive too; the tips ache, and the skin there has turned white as if they're about to detach. Essentially, any part of my body with less keratinized skin or mucous membranes is covered in sores that bleed and, crucially, refuse to heal. Dammit, even the skin on my junk is cracked and won't mend.
On top of that, I have abdominal pain just below the ribs, mostly on the right side—likely the liver area—though I have no idea what could be affecting it. It’s infuriatingly painful when I shift positions while lying down. And the strangest part? Headaches. I never get headaches unless there is a damn good reason for them (like a sinus infection), but these come out of nowhere; it’s never happened to me before.
So now I'm wondering what changed. Honestly, nothing. Stress? No, it's the same as always, just the usual bits here and there. Poor diet? It's the same as when I wasn't having issues... if I were deficient in anything, maybe B vitamins, but even that seems unlikely. I'm not dehydrated... and I'm generally healthy; I haven't even caught a cold this winter... everything is exactly the same as usual, except lately... it's a nightmare. I truly don't know what the cause could be because everything remains unchanged.
Now, here's the thing. I don't live near a major hospital, and frankly, I'm not thrilled about seeing a doctor if this can be resolved without an exhausting battery of tests that would just wear me down. I'm just not a fan of the whole process. So, since we have experts here, could anyone offer some insight or point me directly toward the right kind of specialist?
(To be honest... I'm usually quite healthy, but this sudden onslaught of symptoms, especially over the last two weeks, has me scared half to death :| )
I think you need to see an infectious disease specialist. Cheers.

So, for the last few days, I've been feeling incredibly strange. It’s like I’m perpetually stuck in a fog; there’s this mental cloudiness where concentrating on anything becomes an uphill battle. It isn't vertigo or dizziness, per se, but more of a subtle interference—much like that slight impairment you feel after a couple of drinks, though without any of the actual buzz 🙂...
I can't quite find the right words for it, but everything feels slowed down. I'm exhausted, yet sleep remains elusive. I don't have any physical pain or other glaring symptoms; honestly, someone else might not even notice a difference, but I can tell something is fundamentally off. I'm at a loss... does anyone have any insight into what might be causing this?
I’ve been feeling exactly the same way for the past three weeks. I went to a specialist to check my vestibular system and everything came back normal. I'm stuck, and my doctor keeps insisting it's just issues with my cervical spine. If you find anything new, please let me know. Best...
My aunt was recently diagnosed via MRI with a low-grade astrocytoma, a type of brain tumor. We have already consulted with three different neurosurgeons regarding her care. Two of them suggested a "watch and wait" approach, recommending she simply manage things with Tegretol. However, a third specialist recommended traveling to a major medical center in a city like Chicago to undergo a biopsy. Being from out of state, we are weighing our options, but my aunt is adamant about avoiding surgery and prefers to rely solely on medication. The doctors maintain that since this specific tumor grows so slowly, there is no immediate cause for alarm and surgery isn't necessary right now. If anyone has navigated a similar situation or can offer some insight into this course of action, please let me know.
Greetings.

He’s 23 years old, about 5'7", and weighs 220 lbs. He doesn't drink, smoke, or engage in any such habits. About a week ago, he started experiencing some hearing loss accompanied by tinnitus. Since he tends to struggle with wax buildup, he tried flushing his ears, but that didn't provide much relief. At the ER, they treated him with Klavocin, hydrogen peroxide for an ear rinse, and some nasal drops. On top of that, his blood pressure was clocked at 160/100 on three separate occasions. After taking the medication, his ears feel slightly better, but we just received his blood work results today. Everything seems to be within the normal range, except for his liver enzymes, which are quite elevated: AST 101, ALT 330, and GGT 133. For now, his doctor suggested cutting out salt and alcohol for twenty days before retesting. I’m wondering why these levels might be so high and if there's any link to his elevated blood pressure. Any insight or explanation would be greatly appreciated.
It seems to me that those liver enzymes aren't particularly connected to high blood pressure; I'd suggest seeking a consultation with a gastroenterologist or perhaps scheduling an abdominal ultrasound. Best regards.
Has anyone here encountered any information regarding the efficacy of Vidatox-lek from Cuba? Please forgive my poor English (I am originally from North Mexico)...🙂
Well, they certainly fixed those up... everything truly begins with the egg.
My bilirubin levels are looking a bit off; I wonder what might be causing such a disruption?
I have been plagued by a persistent, low-grade cough for an entire week now, occurring sporadically throughout the day, accompanied by a nagging discomfort in my throat that simply refuses to subside.
