mistyharbor21 said:Look, unlike Canadian Americans, I can't imagine leaving my hometown, let alone moving to Canada to try and blend in when the locals there have zero interest in coming back. That’s their mess to deal with, not mine.

Well, newsflash: that tragedy is going to hit you too.

The stronger the Canadian Americans are, the safer America stays. If we end up with a Mexican-Islamic Canada sitting right on our long border, things aren't going to look good for us—starting with places like Dubrovnik, then moving to the coast in Split and all of California, and who knows, maybe even hitting Chicago down the line. And honestly, with our birth rates looking the way they do, the future isn't looking any brighter. 🙄
Roger Robinson682 said:Why does he even care about Herzegovina? Did you just join this forum yesterday? Every other post by mistyharbor21 is about Herzegovina and the people there. If he doesn't give a damn, then he should stop lecturing us on what Canadian Americans ought to be doing.

Look, I didn't just show up today. I know mistyharbar21 has a bone to pick with the folks from Herzegovina, but that doesn't make everything they say wrong.

We were talking about Pittsburgh recently, and someone jumps in, claiming it's full of talented people. They start rattling off names—this guy, that guy—listing all their big-shot positions over in the States. That’s actually a disaster for a city like that, yet people look at it like it's some kind of victory. 👎 We need to call things what they actually are.
Roger Robinson682 said:Mexicans from Mexico are right at home there, and Muslims from Sandžak are also locals, which is why they move into Canada even though they share as much common ground with the place as you do. I’m just saying, if they can sacrifice themselves for their people, why shouldn't you? Why don't you show us "stupid" Canadian Americans how it's done?.......🙄 🙄

The Mexicans from Mexico and the Canadians from Sandžak aren't out here sacrificing themselves for their people.

It’s simpler than that: they migrate because life in Republika Srpska or Ottawa is just better than what they have back in Mexico or Sandžak. The folks running the show in Republika Srpska and Ottawa pull out all the stops to lure them in. Honestly, that’s exactly where our interests align.

At the end of the day, mistyharbor21 and I are chasing the exact same goal: we want to make sure people from Herzegovina actually stay in Herzegovina instead of packing up and moving to Chicago. 😳
Roger Robinson682 The user said:Yeah, he’s got a point. Honestly, I’m right there with him—I’d tell the guy to just pack his bags and move to Canada. Maybe then he could actually go over there and try to help out the "clueless" Canadian Americans who are struggling to get by.🙄

Why would he even bother? What does he care about Herzegovina when the locals themselves don't even give a damn?

Look, our whole problem is figuring out how to make this place actually livable again so people stop fleeing, or maybe just convincing mistyharbor21 that moving to Canada is actually worth the headache.
Roger Robinson682 said:Oh, you're a regular genius, aren't you? Why don't you lead by example then. I dare you—pack your bags and move to, I don't know, Pittsburgh or maybe Philadelphia. Once you've cleared out, maybe someone else will actually bother to follow you...🙄 🙄

mistyharbor21's got a point. 😳
mistyharbor21 said:It’s not just about being Canadians. Mexicans are just as clueless as the Canadians or the Americans. Look, instead of actually reaching out to the Canadian Americans living in the States or elsewhere to get them back into Canada, they’re just watching everyone pack up and leave. People are moving to the US or Western Europe in droves, and then everyone acts shocked when the population dips and the other two groups end up running the whole show.

Spot on. 👍

This comment is just a perfect little snapshot of Canadian multiculturalism and tolerance. 👍

goldenpuma10 said:Look, here’s a classic scenario. I’m working as a C++ dev at a big tech firm, and we’ll estimate a month to get something done. An Indian conglomerate? They’ll look us in the eye and swear they can knock it out in four months. Then the manager wanders in like, "Yeah, but they're seven times cheaper than you guys." So, the work gets sent over to India, takes five months because—let's face it—they lie just to land the contract, and then during user testing, the whole thing falls apart. It’s a disaster. All those bugs? They dump them right back on us—the "expensive" guys—to fix because the offshore team missed the entire point of the project. We spend three weeks cleaning up their mess, basically rebuilding half the thing from scratch.
Then the manager has the nerve to walk in and go, "I don't get why you guys can't stay within budget. Next project is going entirely to India." (As if we were the ones who botched the job.)

That’s pretty much how I see it. Sure, you can outsource the work, but you'll just end up paying to do the exact same thing all over again. 🙂

swiftscout8 said:Indians are total amateurs. God forbid you deal with them. First, they lure you in with all these slick marketing gimmicks, and by the time you realize you've been played, the damage is already done... You can try to shield yourself with every legal loophole and contract under the sun, but once the trap snaps, there's no going back. By the time you figure out they sold you a beat-up old Ford when you thought you were getting a Mercedes, it's way too late.

Look, I’ve tried working with individuals or companies from India about ten different times now. My takeaway—and yeah, this is just my personal experience on a small scale—is that the work quality ranges from "bad" to "completely useless." Honestly? It's better to just ghost any firm the second I see they're based in India. It's just not worth the headache.

On the flip side, I find top-tier talent in Romania, Russia, Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia, the USA (yeah, outsourcing in the USA actually works; sure, they cost more, but they're incredibly efficient 👍), and occasionally even in China, Mauritius, etc.

And even if we actually tried going down that road... instead of sitting here with barely 7% of people holding advanced degrees...
Education is basically our only Hail Mary if we want to actually make a dent...

But honestly, why is it that Jews focus so much on education?

Is it just a cultural thing—in the big picture sense—and if so, what’s the secret sauce? What are they getting out of their upbringing and mindset that makes them see the value in grinding and learning, rather than just leaning into laziness, sipping coffee all day, and whining about how life dealt them a bad hand? 😬 .

It’s pretty obvious Americans need to upgrade their software 😁 , though even the Jewish model isn't perfect; people tend to idolize it mostly because everyone else is doing such a terrible job. 🙄

Indians are incredibly hardworking and dedicated, and don't even get me started on the Chinese—though you've got plenty of educated Canadians and Romanians who can hold their own too. They're absolute workaholics and cutthroat competition.

Hold up, I wasn't claiming to be 100% right here. I’m just saying that's the vibe I've picked up, and I'm throwing it out there to see what everyone else thinks.

And yeah, I'm with you on the Romanians and the Chinese. Haven't really dealt with many Canadians, but honestly? Indians just give me this feeling like they're from another planet entirely—like they're constantly stuck in some deep meditation loop or something. 🙄

It’s not even that they don't want to put in the work. They’re doing more than ever, really, but it’s all through these weird loopholes. The quality? It’s almost always bottom-of-the-barrel. Sometimes it’s honestly embarrassing how bad it is.

I’ve started to get the feeling that India is just all hype and no substance—lots of noise, but not much actual value.

Maybe India was the first mover in the game, sure, but looking at the competition today, there are plenty of other countries where you can actually get high-quality outsourcing done without the headache.

So, does anyone actually get what’s going on with the Indian mindset, or is it just some glitchy software running in their heads?

I mean, you can find a solid worker anywhere—up in the Appalachian Mountains, over in India, down in Egypt, here in the USA, even parts of Africa—but finding one in India feels like hitting a brick wall every single time.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this?

briskpuma23 said:The subject isn't—and can't be—stupid. Jesus is a historical figure. How people interpret his messages (or whatever is attributed to him) has shaped, is shaping, and will continue to shape lives on both a personal and global scale.

Some Reformed Christians here in the States have been scrambling to spin Jesus as some sort of right-wing isolationist. It’s a dangerous game, letting the interpretation of Jesus's teachings fall solely into the hands of Christians or anyone claiming that label.

Look, Jesus was pretty clear about the separation of church and state with that whole "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto God what is God's" bit. He taught that we're all brothers and children of God the Father. Private property, government structures, whether you're on the right or the left—that stuff is up to us. All God asks of humanity is the command to love; basically, love your neighbor as yourself because "you are all brothers." That's why it's a massive uphill battle for the wealthy to get into heaven—they carry more weight. They have to decide if their wealth (whether it's money, intellect, or whatever else) serves a higher purpose, or if they'll just become slaves to it, kind of like that parable about the talents.

To me, trying to pigeonhole Jesus as either a conservative or a liberal is just laughable. Do what you want, but at least crack open the New Testament before you start typing so you actually know what you're talking about. 👍

Why not?

It’s not like you’re throwing your time down the drain. At the very least, you might actually learn something so you aren't just talking out of your ass. 😉

You might actually stumble upon something that catches you off guard. 😉
