Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I've just been diagnosed with a fibroma and oral cancer.
Does anyone know of any top-tier specialists or clinics I should reach out to?
I’m open to private options too; cost isn't an issue. I just want this thing out of me once and for all...
Found a growth on my palate... in Health ·
I mean, I already said they hadn't gone in yet?
It was closed up until today, and honestly, I don't even get how a layer of skin could have just fallen off. Unless it dried out, but that sounds pretty stupid... And where did the hole come from if they cut it flush? I'm more confused than anyone else here, which is why I'm asking...
Whatever, it doesn't matter. I can deal with this for a month, it's just a small wart...
Lock it if you want

I don't see what's so interesting about this; I'm not dwelling on the past, I'm dealing with the present. This growth showed up a few months ago, but that doesn't really matter now because I've just been talking nonsense. I guess I was trolling
Everything is moving so fast: they cut it out because they suspect it's a papilloma and sent it off for testing, so the biopsy should tell us what it actually is. In the meantime, I've started developing these two leech-like things around the area
So, why do you think I'm posting this stuff? I just want to know what's going on and what I should do right now, but they're telling me to wait for the results. That’s another month of waiting
These leeches are small for now, but if they keep growing over the next month, there's no way I can deal with them in my mouth
Do you honestly think I'm enjoying this? I'm just rambling because I'm fascinated by how weird this is. Yesterday it felt like a little divot under the skin, but today the skin is gone, and now there's just this raw, red hole that stings...
I could go to a doctor who will probably just tell me to wait for the lab work again, or I could ask here and get accused of trolling... or maybe I'll just plug the hole with some gum so food doesn't get stuck in my palate...
I can see this is a forum where most people are experts on diseases and illnesses, and out of respect for everyone dealing with actual sickness, I wouldn't be making up these rapid developments if I didn't mean it. Honestly, I'd much rather not have ended up on this forum in the first place😢
Found a growth on my palate... in Health ·
So, I had this growth on my palate about 1.5x1x1.5cm. They cut it out and sent it off for pathology, suggesting it might be a papilloma.😕
Now I’m dealing with a bit of a mess because where the growth used to be, there’s basically a hole. My doctor told me to just wait a month for the biopsy results before we figure out the next steps 😠, but now these two fleshy, leech-like things are growing right around the edge of the indentation. It isn't really a hole itself, more like skin that's receded, leaving a gap.
I'm feeling pretty anxious about it.
What should I actually do? Who should I talk to? Should I just let it heal on its own while waiting for the labs, because right now, eating is a nightmare.
I don't get how a papilloma could cause something like this... everything I've read online about them doesn't match what's happening with my growth, and my girlfriend's Pap smear came back negative too.🤷
I wanted to ask if I should be doing something differently or if I should just let nature take its course and let it grow out.
Hopefully this isn't a troll thread...

Yeah, I know what I'm talking about...
It’s about this girl, Kuxxi. I kept things strictly platonic because, honestly, I didn't want to deal with any of those sketchy types, and I was worried about catching something from her... so we stayed just friends. But even that friendship ended up being contagious. She turned on me for it and spread it anyway, and given her profession, she really should have known better... some people...
She’s a member here on the forum, but whatever, let her live her life in the shadows...
I don't get how we live in a world where friends turn on you just to vent their own frustrations...
.. but karma always finds a way...

What does it actually mean to have the HPV virus?
Honestly, I’d rather deal with cancer than this... at least then I wouldn't be passing it on to anyone else...
Heh, if those bumps had shown up a few months ago, I’d know exactly where I picked it up...
Poor girl, her whole mouth is covered in papillomas now...
Sharing a drink or smoking the same cigarette...
GIVE ME CANCER, JUST NOT A VIRUS

Let's just hope it doesn't take three whole weeks to get those lab results back
not sure if my local doctor's office will be that slow...
thanks everyone

Heh, I really need to light up right now, but my mouth is killing me... these sores are stinging so much...
I should probably quit whatever this is... though I've been a heavy smoker for 10 years straight...

So, my doctor gave me a referral for the oral and maxillofacial surgery ER yesterday. I can't quite remember the exact term they used...
Well, they just finished cutting out a little bit of everything, and now I've got this report in my hand detailing all the stuff mentioned above...
I was over at the Mayo Clinic
They asked if I was okay with the procedure, then they just went ahead with the excision and that was that...
What does all that stuff above actually mean? Like, the diagnosis?
Is this a tumor? in Health ·
They actually cut out my mole during my PhD exam...
Right now, the diagnosis says
Papilloma labii oris sup et palati
Does anyone know what that actually means?

general observations
you don't exactly need an MD to realize that if a lump of flesh is growing uncontrollably and looks all lumpy and uneven—like, just bunched up under the skin—it’s a tumor
it's several centimeters wide too, so it doesn't exactly look like it's there for any good reason...

So, I went in today, after noticing it had actually grown a bit more...
The doctor gave me this really strange look while he was writing out the urgent referral, saying it looks like a tumor.
Maybe I’m just overthinking things, but I don't like the sound of that at all...

Yeah, I did some digging;
Apparently, when a tumor is benign, the body recognizes it and keeps it in check, so it just sits there. But if it's malignant, it starts spreading because the immune system can't shut it down. That’s what Google says, anyway—it even mentioned that a tumor might actually be an early stage of cancer. If that was the case with me six years ago, maybe it isn't even a tumor anymore...
Either way, I'd rather have it be nothing. I'm headed in for the biopsy tomorrow, so I'll just wait and see what the lab results say.
The doctor tried to play it cool and used really soft language to describe the tumor, but my Pisces intuition told me he was being way too cautious. He gave me this look, too...
It just makes me think of my grandparents and how they both passed away from cancer, all those swollen lymph nodes and everything else...
..just paranoia, I guess...
Is this a tumor? in Health ·
It's a tumor, since it's growing and malignant. If that lymph node was connected to it six years ago, it's likely cancer by now...
but I won't know for sure for a few more days, and I'll definitely be looking for some advice then
thanks

Yeah, I’m leaning towards that too, but who should I actually see?
Should I hit up my primary care doctor or go straight to the dentist? I wasn't sure if this growth falls under general medicine or dental stuff...
And I didn't mention earlier that it started out looking like just a tiny little slit. Now it’s grown to about half an inch thick, an inch and a half long, and maybe a bit wider... and the texture isn't smooth at all. It looks kind of like a turtle shell with those bumpy ridges on it...

I’m gonna be the first one to lay this out there... here’s my situation:
A few years back, I had these two identical bumps on the left side of my doorframe, but I just ignored them and they eventually faded away.
But then, a couple of months ago, things changed. I noticed a wart on the left side of my upper lip, plus this larger, fleshy, light pink growth on the left side of my hard palate. It's actually growing. Also, the left side of my face looks slightly... I don't know, asymmetrical compared to the right? It wasn't like that before puberty. I did a little digging online and now I'm spiraling, thinking this could easily be a tumor—maybe oral or airway cancer. Breathing feels fine, though.
Should I go see a doctor? (Honestly, I really hate going to them)
How much do these symptoms actually align with a tumor? And is there any way to tell if it's malignant or not?

I'm really not looking to get into an argument over different opinions here...
Memory isn't directly tied to the registry, but Windows needs memory to search through it.
Take this for example:
Uninstalling something like ObjectDock, Nero, or your antivirus, then installing something else for the same purpose.
If you install a different dock, what is Windows actually looking for in the registry when you launch the new one? It’s searching for the new dock's entries AND the Internet Explorer entries for the dock—both. The problem is that the old dock's key often lingers in the explorer settings. Depending on who made the software, this is why you see people all over the internet asking: "Why are two identical docks launching at startup?"
What happens if a few keys from uninstalled programs stay stuck in your startup list? Do you honestly think things will run just as smoothly? Some random dock might end up waiting in line while Windows tries to figure out that those other keys in the startup folder are dead ends. It might only be a second at first, but eventually, that turns into two, three...
The registry is such a buggy, sensitive part of macOS, and honestly, you should try to keep it free from unnecessary clutter. Not only can extra keys slow down the system, but they can also lead to much more serious errors.
If you think I'm wrong, go ahead, be brave... open up the registry and manually add 40 useless keys (just like the dead ones), pick which DWORD goes inside them, and then restart.
Again: I don't want to bicker, but I really think you're mistaken, except when it comes to defragmentation (that part is definitely important). Let people clean their registry occasionally, just don't overdo it.

And sure, you're right that Windows won't hunt for unused keys, but it *will* still hunt for the ones that are actually being used.

Benjamin King2 said:Those supposed "errors" in the registry—basically just keys that aren't being used anymore—don't actually impact your computer's performance. This kind of "junk" usually piles up when you uninstall software because the uninstallation routines were poorly written and didn't clean up everything they should have.

It might be helpful to defragment the registry once in a while, but cleaning out unused keys isn't going to give you any real boost.

unused registry keys actually slow down how Windows reads the registry. Even if it's barely noticeable thanks to how cheap memory is these days, it builds up over time and Windows starts feeling sluggish... you definitely ought to clear them out
I'd highly recommend using Registry Cleaner, just stay away from those pirated downloads
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Hey there! My computer has been lagging like crazy lately, and I have a Windows 7 disc lying around, but honestly, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to actually installing it. I'm definitely down to hunt for a quick little tutorial to get me through it...
thanks in advance
