So, I had this growth on my palate about 1.5x1x1.5cm. They cut it out and sent it off for pathology, suggesting it might be a papilloma.😕
Now I’m dealing with a bit of a mess because where the growth used to be, there’s basically a hole. My doctor told me to just wait a month for the biopsy results before we figure out the next steps 😠, but now these two fleshy, leech-like things are growing right around the edge of the indentation. It isn't really a hole itself, more like skin that's receded, leaving a gap.
I'm feeling pretty anxious about it.
What should I actually do? Who should I talk to? Should I just let it heal on its own while waiting for the labs, because right now, eating is a nightmare.
I don't get how a papilloma could cause something like this... everything I've read online about them doesn't match what's happening with my growth, and my girlfriend's Pap smear came back negative too.🤷
I wanted to ask if I should be doing something differently or if I should just let nature take its course and let it grow out.
Hopefully this isn't a troll thread...

I suppose I should start by saying that there isn't much to go on here—just a single word, really. It’s a bit like being handed a single puzzle piece and being expected to reconstruct the entire landscape of the Grand Canyon. I guess I'm just sitting here, staring at this blank slate, wondering if there was supposed to be more context provided. Maybe it was an oversight, or perhaps it's some sort of minimalist social experiment—though, if it is, it’s a rather underwhelming one, I must say. If you were looking for a deep dive into a specific topic, I'm afraid you might have missed a few steps in the process. kaže:
...and even her Pap smear came back negative.🤷
I find myself wondering—and please, feel free to correct me if my intuition is off here—whether I ought to step in and attempt some sort of intervention, or if it might be more prudent to simply let this thing run its course? I’m torn between taking a proactive approach and perhaps just... letting it grow.
I certainly hope this thread isn't just some elaborate troll post—though, given the current state of the internet, I suppose I shouldn't hold my breath.

I’m sorry, but how am I supposed to interpret your argument as anything other than blatant trolling? I simply cannot wrap my head around the idea that everything unfolded quite so rapidly in your experience—nor can I believe that things progressed with such staggering incompetence—especially since none of this actually adds up. To make matters worse, I tried doing some digging myself, and I couldn't find even a shred of evidence to back any of it up.

So, you're claiming your girlfriend tested "negative" for a Pap smear—honestly, how does one even manage to be negative on a Pap test? 🤦

Just to clarify—and I think it’s important we get this straight—my dad isn't going to be showing off his results; he’s undergoing an HPV swab for genotyping. They also perform a swab of the oral cavity, which is then used to draw certain clinical conclusions. But honestly, forget about her for a second—you should probably focus on yourself (specifically regarding what was done to you during those tests, assuming you were even subjected to them in the first place).

In that previous thread, you claimed some female user had somehow "infected" you—which, let’s be honest, isn't exactly something you could verify—and now, suddenly, you're claiming to have a girlfriend. Interesting development, I suppose.

I don't see what's so interesting about this; I'm not dwelling on the past, I'm dealing with the present. This growth showed up a few months ago, but that doesn't really matter now because I've just been talking nonsense. I guess I was trolling
Everything is moving so fast: they cut it out because they suspect it's a papilloma and sent it off for testing, so the biopsy should tell us what it actually is. In the meantime, I've started developing these two leech-like things around the area
So, why do you think I'm posting this stuff? I just want to know what's going on and what I should do right now, but they're telling me to wait for the results. That’s another month of waiting
These leeches are small for now, but if they keep growing over the next month, there's no way I can deal with them in my mouth
Do you honestly think I'm enjoying this? I'm just rambling because I'm fascinated by how weird this is. Yesterday it felt like a little divot under the skin, but today the skin is gone, and now there's just this raw, red hole that stings...
I could go to a doctor who will probably just tell me to wait for the lab work again, or I could ask here and get accused of trolling... or maybe I'll just plug the hole with some gum so food doesn't get stuck in my palate...
I can see this is a forum where most people are experts on diseases and illnesses, and out of respect for everyone dealing with actual sickness, I wouldn't be making up these rapid developments if I didn't mean it. Honestly, I'd much rather not have ended up on this forum in the first place😢

I find it hard to believe they actually cut you open like that and didn't stitch it back up. 😕

I’ve been to a maxillofacial surgeon myself, so I have a decent idea of how these procedures go. Honestly, it’s tough for me to believe you aren't just messing with us.

I mean, I already said they hadn't gone in yet?
It was closed up until today, and honestly, I don't even get how a layer of skin could have just fallen off. Unless it dried out, but that sounds pretty stupid... And where did the hole come from if they cut it flush? I'm more confused than anyone else here, which is why I'm asking...
Whatever, it doesn't matter. I can deal with this for a month, it's just a small wart...
Lock it if you want

I figured you out—you didn't get them, and now you've just got a gap where they should be.

I also realized they didn't stitch it up and that the hole was just left like that from the start 😕, and honestly—sorry—you have to put yourself in our shoes for a second. I wouldn't resort to trolling or acting all "tough guy" either if something truly concerned me, especially when it involves my own health.

But wait, how did you not ask the doctors what comes next? Like, what should you expect, what’s the actual procedure, whether there's anything you need to do personally, etc.? Can't you just head over to a primary care physician, even if everything looks that bad? 🤷

I'm not sure how else I can be of any help here because everything seems to be happening incredibly fast with your situation—half of it doesn't even make sense to me—not to mention what kind of doctor manages to remove something that quickly even with your consent 🤷

Fine, lock the thread if that's how you want to play it
