Can money actually buy happiness?
in Psychology ·
If you’ve got $2,500, suddenly $4,000 feels like happiness. A few months later, once you get used to that, $8,000 is the goal. Then, after another stretch, you're chasing $15,000. People are constantly hungry for more, and money just gives them the fuel to keep chasing it.
On the flip side, if you’re totally broke—say you're stuck in some dead-end relationship and loneliness is eating you alive—you won't even be thinking about cash (unless you're actually starving 🙄). You'll be just as miserable regardless. 🤷
$4,500? Sure. If having a burger, some bread, and milk is enough to make you happy, then fine. 🤣 😬
