Hey, so we’ve run into this weird issue, and I’m really hoping it’s nothing serious. My girlfriend noticed this kind of bump on her left side, just under the ribs. It’s not even really a "bump," more like... I don't know, something else. It’s super uncomfortable for her; whenever she lies down or tries to sit up or get out of bed, it just pops right out in front of the ribcage and you can totally see it... honestly, it's pretty freaking scary. 😁
And man, getting her to actually go to the doctor was a whole struggle. So she finally sees someone, and they send her off for an ultrasound, but the guy doing the scan (according to her) basically saw absolutely nothing. He wasn't even listening to what she was saying and wasn't even scanning the actual spot where it happens...
Then, she goes back to her primary doctor to explain everything and ask what the hell is going on, and the doctor just brushes it off like it's totally normal...
Lately, it’s been hurting her too. She told the doctor about the pain, and again—get this—she was just told it's perfectly fine...
So now I’m asking you guys, has anyone dealt with anything similar? And what’s your take on doctors (in this specific case) and how they handle stuff like this...
Thanks, cheers!

Yeah, I’ve got something similar going on under my left ribs too.
She needs to run a biopsy to figure out what we're dealing with. The scan is pretty uncomfortable since they have to slide the needle between the ribs, but honestly, I don't get why my doctor didn't just suggest this from the start.
Most likely, it's nothing—just a cluster of fat cells or maybe a fibroma or fibroadenoma, which isn't exactly life-threatening anyway.
It hurts me quite a bit and gets in the way, but nobody wants to touch it. They're actually scared to remove them because mine is sitting right against the bone, and they don't want to risk poking the rib.

The doctor who did the biopsy told me that some people are just genetically predisposed to growing these kinds of benign lumps all over their bodies.

My grandma’s been dealing with the exact same thing for years now.
It’s basically just a massive, harmless growth.

Alright folks, thanks!
Man, I’ve seriously lost my mind over this—both her and those doctors at the clinic... good grief, you can't just mess around with stuff like this, but they all seem stuck in some indecisive limbo. So, I finally just told them, "Look, I'm going with her to get this sorted out once and for all." Couldn't make it happen earlier because work was killing me...
thanks everyone...
peace

So, I’ve had this hard, painless lump sitting there for about a year or two now. It’s movable if I really dig in and press it. It also shows up whenever I lean toward my right side or arch backward (even just when I’m 🐔 like).

On this diagram, it's located at the L2, L3 area on the left side => http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._the_trunk.png

It doesn't hurt at all, but it's an annoying distraction during workouts.
p.s. To the touch, it feels hard with sharp edges, but if I apply more pressure, it feels almost like it's attached to something deeper 🤔
p.s.s. Honestly, it feels like an extra rib 😒

Just wondering if anyone here has dealt with something similar or has any thoughts 🙂

Note: I don't have a doctor's appointment scheduled until the second week from now 🥱

And let me know what the final diagnosis was, because I’m dealing with the exact same thing
