There's no doubt about it. 😉
The real issue starts when you feel this desperate need to prove it to people who just don't get it right away... 😁 So you start grinding away, trying so hard to show them, but it's completely futile (because, let's face it, what can you expect from those types of people?). And honestly, if you're trying *that* hard, it kind of implies that your intelligence has already checked out on you... 😬
I’ve always considered myself pretty sharp. Actually, I’d go as far as calling myself a genius—though, to be fair, that was just Jack Harris3's take on me... But honestly, the moment I try to convince anyone else of that, the whole thing just falls apart. 🙂
Man, if we just reduce everything down to cold hard statistics, I guess it’s no wonder only a handful of people actually care... globally speaking, more women perish in plane crashes, right?
And when you think about what this does to kids... I mean, will these children suffer lasting trauma because their father murdered their mother, and then some poor soul grows up to become a killer of his own wife later on?
And yeah, sure, people love to claim women are to blame for getting involved with guys like that in the first place. But don't they deserve a second chance? Once they've finally made the choice to walk away from an abuser, what kind of twisted force is driving his mind to make sure he never lets that happen again? Why is everyone so eager to find excuses for him... while turning around and telling her it was all her fault?
I was just scrolling through USA Today and read this absolutely gut-wrenching statistic about how, in America, we see cases every single month where a woman is murdered by her husband simply because she decided to leave him... It really makes you wonder what goes on inside the mind of a man who chooses to solve his problems in such a violent, permanent way... Is it just the byproduct of a deeply ingrained patriarchal upbringing, or maybe a fundamental failure in how they were socialized to handle emotion? Or could it be a toxic cocktail of deep-seated fear, a total lack of self-esteem, some sort of underlying psychological disorder, or just pure, unadulterated malice... I don't even know where to start with it all...
I mean, at the end of the day, we’re talking about soccer, right? And it’s all leading up to this massive month-long carnival of nationalism! Look, I’m certainly no tactical genius when it comes to the pitch, and honestly, my support is purely emotional—I root for my own people out of pure instinct, but I also have a soft spot for the Germans just because they’ve always been likable... especially their coach, who I used to love watching back when he was actually playing... But as long as it stays strictly within the lines of the game, I think patriotism is actually a pretty healthy thing. It keeps the national spirit high and everyone in a decent mood. If only all these bursts of intense nationalism lasted for just a month and were fueled by nothing more than some cold Budweiser or a burger...
