Can spirituality exist without God? in Spirituality ·
mistybison said:Is believing in something greater than ourselves—a deeper purpose behind our existence—merely the initial spark that sets us on a spiritual journey, or is it a constant companion along the way? Can spirituality truly exist without God, regardless of how one defines Him? Is it possible to be spiritual without being a believer? Furthermore, if you feel you "know" something for certain, how do you distinguish actual knowledge from simply having faith in what you know?

Not really—you either live in awareness of God or you don't. We aren't self-made, after all. If spirituality is at the core of what a human being is, then it was given to us by God and originated from Him. So, the answer is no.

No.
*(I mean, sure, there are evil forces or demons that lean on Satan—but even that is just another form of dependency on God. Anyone acknowledging the existence of Satan is, by default, acknowledging God.)

No, because you’re always believing in something.

Based on my own specific experience.
It's a bit complicated to put into words—I've tried explaining it a few times before and it didn't really go anywhere, so I think I'll skip the effort this time.
FIBA World Cup: America vs. Norway 23:23 in Other Sports ·
There were plenty of mistakes there, but we still didn't quite crack the code. Did anyone actually track how many goals we scored from the wings? If I recall, Caleb managed two or three, but our other winger was completely shut out 😕
And how many did Vori end up with?

It felt like almost every single goal came from someone just standing in the middle and shooting from distance.
Heartbreak in Spirituality ·
Think of the heart as our window into the spiritual realm—it’s constantly shaped by the people around us, by God, and even by our own internal shifts. But really, the most vital part of this "window" is simply keeping it open and making sure the glass stays clear, so our vision remains sharp and unobstructed.
Iraq wins the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Soccer ·
Honestly, the quality of football was abysmal, and the officiating was just as bad—it’s a mystery to me how these two teams even managed to make it to the final.

I only caught the last 25 or 30 minutes, but man, I haven't seen this many mistakes in a long time. There was almost zero quality on display. You had the Iraqis from Saudi Arabia barely running—more like walking, really—just complete helplessness from both sides. The technical skill was lacking across the board; for instance, toward the end, the Iraqis had a 2-on-1 situation where one player broke free, but he ended up totally isolated with the ball, and even with those few seconds to decide his next move, he couldn't even control it properly. The whole attack just fell apart.

At this rate, I think the level of play in the USL Championship is actually higher than what we saw in this final.

Sophia Lee80 said:Good and evil are mere constructs of society; they don't actually exist in nature. What does exist are correct and incorrect decisions. It’s all about experience. There is no objective good or evil, only the lessons we harvest from the choices we make—whether they were right or wrong.

What makes you say that? And why do you think humanity "invented" the concepts of good and evil in the first place?
Resurrection in Spirituality ·
Sophia Parker8 said:The Madman gave you a pretty solid response. Spiritualists love to insist that everything we perceive is just a byproduct of internal vision—of the mind. Yet, there is no mental construct more plausible than God himself, considering He doesn't actually exist within the physical world.

Which spiritualists are we even talking about here? Even on this forum, you've got people acting like they're experts when they really aren't—and besides, the mind isn't some window into spirituality.

Just because you haven't personally encountered God doesn't mean others haven't. Remember, God doesn't exactly want to be on display for everyone; He reveals Himself to the few.

And this world? It isn't his kingdom.

I’ve already mentioned that I consider myself a Christian rather than a Catholic—and honestly, I also said there's really no point in us getting into a debate since it feels like a lost cause. For that reason, I'd appreciate it if you didn't quote me; if I don't reply, I don't want anyone thinking I'm just dodging the conversation.

Sophia Parker8 said:Well argued, I must say.

But where's the actual reasoning behind this:

"God is one of those rare entities that doesn't exist objectively on its own, but is instead just a product of the mind's imagination."?

Are you seriously claiming I'm the one who made it all up?

Of course you can't hide Him from anyone. You can only hide Him from yourself.

It feels to me like maybe you've just memorized these whole bunch of clichés—you know, God is the source of life, justice, love, blah blah blah—but it doesn't seem like you actually grasp what any of that means. And I think Sean Martinez4 was onto something; you've basically grabbed authority for the truth instead of letting the truth be your authority, and now you're trying to push that on everyone else. You don't really get it, and I guess that's why you feel insulted.
It insults you because the idea that "your" God is accessible to everyone is offensive, right? It hurts to think you aren't part of some special chosen group, or more valuable than others, or closer to Him than the next guy—that you aren't all that different from everyone else. The truth that God in you is the same God in someone else bothers you. Why is that? God is love, selfless love.

The doors to God's kingdom swing open the second you accept that you are in God and God is in you. There isn't some massive, complex wisdom to it. That's just what resurrection is.

So, is everything you're searching for—and everything you're trying to proclaim—just complete nonsense?

The reason it feels wrong to you is that everything I'm saying comes straight from my own lived experience.

Am I imagining things, or am I actually being insulted here?

Sean Martinez4 said:But believers aren't even real. They're just worms, larvae, or mold in God's backside. 🙂

But let's get back to that "Resurrection in spirit" thing—the kind the Catholic Church forbids in any form through their ten main propaganda hubs. 👍
And definitely not that "Resurrection in the flesh" stuff you Satanists seem to love so much. 👍

Here is how they define Resurrection through sin: "Sinning is just being human, so go ahead, brothers! Go out, multiply, and totally wreck the climate, the plants, and the animals. Just don't bother with holistic consciousness if you can help it! Forgiveness is divine! And it simply, don't care!" 😍 🙂 🙂

Honestly, I think Catholics are just hypocrites who don't actually carry the Resurrection within themselves.

So, what exactly does this mean to you?

I’m bowing out of this argument with Sean Martinez4—honestly, he’s one of the most reckless people on this entire forum. It’s just impossible to have a real conversation when someone refuses to use actual arguments or show even a shred of respect for anyone else.

Right, Catholics start with the result—with Christ on the cross... then come the miracles, and suddenly they're lost in the wonder of it all. 😬 🤣 🤣

Since when does being "Zen" give you a free pass to be insulting?

This is about spirituality, and everyone here has the right to say whatever they want😉 (regarding faith and all that)

And I didn't even offend myself, Bogo..😉

So, you're basically okay with being insulting here, then?

This isn't actually about spirituality. If someone were truly spiritual, they’d be beyond physical petty insults—they wouldn't be wasting time writing such shallow stuff.

William Reed said:But why not, though? I mean, what even is God if not that? Is He just some unreachable, perfect ideal that’s only allowed to be mentioned by these terrified, self-proclaimed 'believers'? Honestly, what does God even mean to you? Why do you think you get to act all jealous and gatekeep Him from everyone else, like you have some divine right to stop people from speaking His name, or hanging out with Him, or even trying to see themselves in Him? Like, where do you get off thinking you own that kind of authority?

I’m not calling anyone out just for bringing up God—it’s when they disrespect Him that I speak up, because frankly, that offends me too.

God is available to everyone; you just have to look for Him in the right way and the right place. There's no way for me to keep Him hidden from anyone.

God is the source of life, truth, justice, and love—He is our Heavenly Father. His kingdom is where those who belong to Him go after their time on this earth is done, while those who don't belong will be cast aside to face the father of lies.

You're dead wrong. 😉

No one in this country has the right to declare themselves God.

You made yourself pretty clear about where you stand—even if you did go out of your way to insult those who actually believe in Him—but let’s not pretend you’re part of the group.

Sean Martinez4 said:Well, it's because I'm not some mindless drone who blindly believes in "God"! That's how I stay spiritual, I guess. 🙂

I've already gone over this—it isn't really the deciding factor here. I even brought up Buddhists as a specific example.

The fact that you keep resorting to insults—well, that says quite a bit about you, doesn't it? But honestly, I don't get why you even bother showing up to talk about spirituality when you clearly have zero connection to it in the first place.

Don't you feel even a little bit of shame typing stuff like that? You clearly know how insulting this is to believers, and yet
you just have to go out of your way to provoke people—it's like you have zero empathy for anyone else.
