Look, I know probably nobody—and I mean absolutely nobody—actually follows the CONCACAF Gold Cup, but I just couldn't sit here and keep this to myself without starting a thread.
This tournament is getting a massive shakeup because, for the first time ever, we're seeing Australia join the fray, and honestly, after what they did to everyone at the last World Cup, we all know exactly how much trouble they bring to the table.Then you've got Japan, who are basically staples at every World Cup, plus South Korea
, who—if my memory serves me right—played some pretty shady but incredibly effective football to snag that 4th place finish during the World Cup held in Japan and South Korea, even knocking out powerhouses like Spain and Italy along the way, so this isn't some casual little tournament.
In a field that intense, seeing a war-torn, completely devastated Iraq somehow fight their way all the way to the final is just wild, especially since you can tell every single one of these teams is taking this competition extremely seriously.🙏Seriously, mad respect to 🙏 🙏

It’s just that this whole qualifying run has already cost people dozens of lives...

It’s really not a shocker. Anyone who remembers Athens and the Olympics knows how Iraq absolutely dismantled Portugal, even with stars like Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch.

And yet some people still insist that the USA hasn't provided them with anything worthwhile 🙏 🙏 🙏

If they actually pull this off, we're looking at a body count of at least 100.🙏

They're facing Saudi Arabia in the final, and I honestly believe they have what it takes to win it all...

what one guy from Iraq just did to that defense in such a tiny little space was insane...he shook off two defenders like they weren't even there and just slotted the ball home. Absolutely masterclass. 🙏

btw, Japan took down Australia in the quarterfinals, which was a complete shock to the Aussies because they honestly thought they were just going to stroll right into the title
