Casey Bennett said:As far as I can tell, that username is already taken.🤷

Ah, my apologies, I didn't notice that just now.

Could I perhaps use something like "Mark Perez32"? It doesn't appear on the member list.

"Mark Perez32" works. Please send the link to this message to Nica.
Nickname change (read first post!) in Forum Help! ·
Greetings. Would it be possible to change my username to "the beast"?
From what I can see, that handle appears to be available.
The reason for this request is that certain people know me by my current nickname in person, and I would prefer they didn't stumble upon my old posts from high school.
That said, I am not particularly active on here anymore, so I don't anticipate any issues arising from the change. Thank you.
What do you guys think? in Psychology & Therapy ·
I suspect this could be a symptom of depression, as I experience similar sensations during my own episodes.
I would strongly suggest consulting with a medical professional who can provide you with a more accurate diagnosis.

I realize this might sound like a silly question, but I honestly have no idea.
Suppose I’m experiencing some pain and I want to see a doctor about it (for instance, an earache).
Do I head to a local clinic or go straight to the hospital? Am I just supposed to show up, or is there a specific protocol I need to follow?

Please don't make fun of me 🙈
Feeling unmotivated/lazy lately. Any tips? in Psychology ·
People aren't inherently lazy; they might struggle with tasks they feel forced to perform—like a mandatory assignment for a class at Harvard—but it is widely recognized that long-term unemployment often leads to depression.
Procrastination frequently occurs when an individual cares so deeply about performing a task perfectly that they wait for the "ideal" conditions, such as a sudden burst of motivation, which ultimately results in endless delays.
If an organism successfully meets all its basic biological needs, it naturally possesses a surplus of hours to spend resting; consider how cats are elite hunters yet spend much of their time sleeping. Humans require roughly eight hours of sleep, which suggests our very nature is designed to devote a significant portion of our daily lives to being active and engaged in purposeful pursuits.
We tend to find people much more endearing when they exhibit genuine sincerity (or at least provide the illusion of it) ☕
For instance, individuals with highly expressive faces who occasionally betray a hint of nervousness or bashfulness strike a chord with us; they mirror those very emotions that we typically strive to conceal within ourselves, much like when someone simply approaches us with true friendliness.
