You think you've finally seen the bottom of the barrel, and then someone goes and digs a hole right underneath it just to prove a point. I'm sitting here thinking about it, and it's just ridiculous—absolutely absurd. Everyone acts like this is some huge, shocking revelation when it was clearly written all over the walls from day one if you actually bothered to pay attention for more than five seconds. But hey, that's just how things go lately, I guess. Everything is just a mess, and frankly, I'm too tired to even be surprised anymore. Just total chaos.
He honestly got lucky as hell that he didn't end up spinning out during that contact with Sebastian Vettel, because let's be real, in a collision like that, it’s usually the guy on the outside who gets absolutely screwed. 🙂

So, look, I'm telling you, Vettel was totally on the outside through that right-hand chicane.🕺

Man, I swear, it doesn't even matter how fast the Ferrari car actually is when they've got a crew in the pits and on the pit wall that clearly has no clue what they're doing 🤦

And that's in the number 5 car, too. ☕

Look, if Lewis Hamilton actually pulls off the title this year, it’s going to be his most legendary run yet because he’d be doing it in a car that isn't even the absolute class of the field. You see guys like Fernando Alonso come out the other side of a championship win and just absolutely crush their subsequent seasons, but Sebastian Vettel hasn't quite figured out how to pull that off so far. Honestly, if you give him a faster car right now, he’d probably just end up losing a wheel-to-wheel fight with his own teammate and watch the title slip through his fingers—I mean, he managed to scrape by twice before, but nowadays? It's looking pretty grim.

mellowtiger83 said:Oh, please, go ahead and hype up how Max was closing in on Valtteri Bottas and just happened to tap his tire in a way that was totally unnecessary and super sketchy!

Whatever, man, he was cutting the chicane even before that, and the stewards let him slide with zero consequences.

that upgrade at the local Ford dealership was actually a total downgrade 😢

Honestly, same question here.🕺

So, I was just digging through some old racing news, and man, looking back at how things used to go down really hits different. Remember that absolute chaos at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway back on September 2nd, 2018? It’s wild to think about how much the landscape has shifted since then. You had Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen basically fighting for every inch of asphalt, and honestly, the way Ford managed things on Saturday really set the stage for all the drama that followed. It’s one of those races that stays burned into your brain because of how intense the battle was between the heavy hitters. You’ve got Kimi Raikkonen out there being an absolute beast, and then you have the whole dynamic where the American first qualified in front of him and then just refused to let him pass during the Grand Prix itself at the start—I mean, talk about pure grit. That kind of defensive driving is what makes this sport so addicting, even if it drives us crazy watching from our couches. And don't even get me started on the technical side of things or how certain teams handled their strategy compared to how we see them running today. Everything feels so much more calculated now, whereas back then, it felt like a high-speed brawl sometimes. It's funny, I was talking to mellowtiger83 about this the other day, and we were both laughing about how much people underestimated the sheer speed of those cars during that era. People always forget how much raw power was actually on display before everything became so hyper-optimized. Anyway, just a random thought while I was falling down a rabbit hole of vintage race stats. Life is weird.

So, Sebastian Vettel is absolutely fuming about how Kimi Raikkonen handled himself during the Grand Prix, especially since the American first qualified right in front of him and then just refused to let him pass during the Grand Prix itself at the start. It’s honestly kind of ridiculous if you think about it, just total chaos out there on the track.

I’ve gotta say, I am seriously not feeling how Ford managed things on Saturday. It was just... off.

Honestly, I’m sitting here thinking it really should’ve been me standing there on that pole position instead.

Look, it’s pretty obvious to me at this point—I basically have to go out there and battle three different cars, and that includes my own teammate.

🤣

crimsonhawk23 said:By posting that, whether you meant to or not, you basically just went on record confirming that Hamilton is a better driver than Vettel. 🙂 Look, it’s fine, we all know he’s the better one. 👍

It’s just how it goes, honestly—there’s really no point in overanalyzing it.

Look, I don't care what anyone says, it’s just an objective fact at this point: Lewis Hamilton is hands down better than Sebastian Vettel.☕

Sebastian Vettel is stuck behind Lewis Hamilton even though he’s got the better car, so I mean, it’s pretty damn obvious who the superior driver is between those two, unless you're one of those stormbadger8 types

Henry Wilson34 said:All this talk about Ferrari being faster than Mercedes-Benz right now is nothing but pure propaganda. Honestly, Ferrari is just good enough to show up and be seen, but they aren't even close to being better. It doesn't matter if Ferrari has a stronger engine if they’re still stuck with these kinds of strategists, bosses, and pit crews.

And look, when you bring up Vettel and 2012, how old was Vettel back then compared to an established, seasoned champion like Alonso?
I mean, Vettel 2010 and 2011 basically tore the field apart; if I recall correctly, he only missed out on maybe ten pole positions over those two seasons.
Plus, unlike Lewis Hamilton who has a legitimate wingman in Valtteri Bottas—who clearly doesn't mind playing second fiddle to Lewis Hamilton—Vettel had to fight not just the other teams, but also Mark Webber and all those annoying team orders. And you're seriously trying to tell me he wasn't dominating?

At the end of the day, the geniuses over at Red Bull brought in Ricciardo and gave him everything he needed in 2014 instead of continuing to back the four-time champ who had been driving for them all along.

After the final race in 2010, Vettel was leading the championship for the first time in his life.😉

electriccanyon6 said:Look, I’m not even trying to argue that Kimi Raikkonen hasn't been the more accomplished driver over the course of his career—he’s clearly won more and actually grabbed a championship title, so no arguments there. But man, he just hasn't been driving with that old-school magic for a long, long time now.

but honestly, he's actually looking pretty solid this year, which is a massive change from those previous seasons where he was basically just stumbling through the race.

Lewis Hamilton > Sebastian Vettel > Valtteri Bottas > Kimi Raikkonen

putting Bottas ahead of Raikkonen? Yeah, definitely not happening this year.

Man, today's race absolutely blew me away; I was fully geared up for a total snooze-fest, but it turned out to be incredibly gripping. It’s honestly such a shame we didn't get some rain to fall, because then maybe Ferrari would have faced an even more pathetic embarrassment than they already did.
