Bottas is absolutely cruising toward that win
Looks like Raikkonen is actually showing signs of life
Bottas and Ricciardo taking the win
those absolute idiots over at Ferrari
I mean, if we get some light rain, that’s definitely not looking good for Williams, unless things go absolutely sideways and we see some total chaos on the track

Anyway, at least at Spa, grabbing pole position isn't exactly a guaranteed ticket to victory.

There's way more room for things to go sideways, which honestly just means more chances to pull off an overtake.
Jason Campbell70 said:I mean, sure, but let's be real, Lewis Hamilton totally choked when he hit the Talladega Superspeedway turn last time.

And honestly, watching him struggle this year? It’s even easier to watch him mess up than it was last season.🙂
stormybadger8 said:So now we're all supposed to believe that taking pole position is actually useless and starting second is somehow better? What a joke. 🙏🤣

Look, starting second in Belgium actually has some serious perks if you know what you're doing.

If you nail the turn at Talladega Superspeedway heading into that Kentucky stretch, you can easily slice right past whoever's sitting in the lead. It’s like you didn't even watch the race last year when Sebastian Vettel pulled that exact same move on Lewis Hamilton.

It’s a whole different story why Kimi completely blew it in the Third Quarter and how Alonso just pulled a pretty pathetic lap in the Third Quarter (basically, he flew off the track and still ended up sitting in P4...)

Only a total moron wouldn't see that Ferrari is the second-best car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, seriously, even Alonso made it obvious by saying so himself, but apparently, some people just refuse to get it.😍

It’s terrifyingly true that Mercedes-Benz is about 1.5 to 2 seconds faster than them, though they definitely have the edge at the front of the pack... even if Williams and Red Bull Racing aren't far behind.

“I’m really happy with this result. Securing a start from the first two rows is tough. We didn't expect this kind of performance during qualifying. The rain definitely helped us out, and maybe the car is handling a bit better with this level of downforce. We managed to put together a solid lap.”

Excuse me?

What kind of weather are we actually looking at?
stormybadger8 said:Are you seriously convinced they're actually going to validate those times after that whole shady stunt? 🤷
It's totally plausible they just wipe out the last lap times for both Ricky and Alonso at the end of the day...

Anyway, it's pretty wild how Ferrari—who has absolutely zero doubt they have the second fastest car on the grid—isn't sitting in P3 or P4, and even weirder that Williams, who should be right there breathing down their necks, isn't even remotely close to the front two rows.😕

Without a shadow of a doubt ☕☕☕☕☕☕☕

😂
Kimi didn't even come close to Alonso; if anything, he just drifted further away, and that was on his own turf—trailing by a full second at 😂

The Mercedes-Benz cars look absolutely terrifyingly fast right now, unless they’ve somehow stumbled onto some kind of wet-weather setup or just happen to be better in the rain than everyone else? 😁
Total garbage, I’m stuck working until 5 🙂
ruggedhawk20 said:So you're saying Chilton is actually a better driver than Bordeaux or McNish?

Hell no.
Chilton is tearing it up at the US Grand Prix. Looks like the cash finally hit the bank right during the first free practice session. 😁

So, get this—fresh out of the FIA workshop, we’ve got this new series hitting the scene called Formula E. And yeah, just like the name implies, it's basically high-voltage electric formula racing. The inaugural season kicks off in September and wraps up in June, featuring 10 street races across various cities, and you can even expect some big-name drivers who have previously cut their teeth in Formula 1.

The races are slated to run for about 45 minutes, and during that window, every driver is going to have to dive into the pits once to swap cars because, well, the batteries just won't last the whole distance. 😁🤣

The best part? Fans actually get a say in the action since they can vote for their favorite drivers to receive FanBoost. 🤣

For the first season, all teams have been supplied an electric racing car built by Spark Racing Technology, called the Spark-Renault SRT 01E. The chassis has been designed by Dallara, with an electric motor developed by McLaren (and is the same as that used in its P1 supercar), a battery system created by Williams Racing and a Hewland five-speed gearbox. Michelin will be the official tyre supplier. So far, 42 electric cars have been ordered by the FIA.

A little deep dive into the car...

A quick breakdown of Formula E:
Every ePrix consists of two practice sessions, a one-hour qualifying session (split into 4 groups of 5 drivers each, where each group gets 6 minutes to set their times; then the top five move on to the final round, Super Pole, to decide the top five grid positions) and the main race itself.

Snagging pole position nets you 3 points.

Throughout the weekend, each driver has access to two cars, both topped out at 200 kW.

During the actual race, a pit stop to switch cars is mandatory because the battery power won't hold up for the full duration, and the motor output is capped at 170 kW.

Fans can throw their support behind their favorites via FanBoost. The three drivers who pull in the most votes get to tap into an extra 100 kJ of energy in their second car, boosting their output from 180 to 200 kW for a few brief seconds.

Grabbing the fastest lap of the race earns an extra 2 points.

Points are handed out using the same logic as Formula 1 (25 points for the win, and the top ten finishers all score).

The official tire provider is Michelin. For every race, each driver gets 4 fresh front and 4 fresh rear tires, though they are allowed to reuse one front and one rear tire from the previous race.

You can catch all the practice, qualifying, and race action for free through the official stream here:

I honestly think there's a better shot at seeing both Marussia drivers on the podium than that happening...

well, he's the guy with the lowest expectations anyway, so who cares

Williams on the podium. ☕
3-4 Williams

Sebastian Vettel?
