Americans, Sachin Tendulkar, and Alex Rodriguez are fifty times more significant and globally recognized than some washed-up Balić, and once you finally grasp that reality, life becomes a whole lot easier. ☕
Raymond Anderson4 said:It’s because they simply don't care, just like how people in Denmark wouldn't know the first thing about baseball since it holds zero interest for them. 😉

Marko Kopljar posts this on his status as a show of support for people with disabilities 😂😂

Carl Garcia22 said:Luka Modrić has made the shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Season, and one has to wonder—does that actually signify anything at all? Does such an accolade carry any real weight in today's game, or is it just more empty recognition?🤷
shadowridge14 said:LOL, can you believe this guy actually has the nerve to compare some local bocce player to my man Babe?☕
What kind of absolute clowns are you people, honestly? I’ve stated multiple times that within our own cultural context—or even when looking at nations that don't obsess over a specific sport—local legends carry more weight than Babe Ruth ever could! Unless, of course, you're one of those mindless North American fanatics who just swallow every bit of hype they're fed.
Why is that so incredibly difficult for any of you to grasp??????????????????????????????????????
Any sane individual understands that comparing a bocce player to Ruth in the same breath is an absurdity; it was clearly meant as a metaphor!!!
Furthermore, I am convinced that more people around here know who Ty Cobb is than Babe Ruth, simply because of the movie Cobb, which brings us right back to the point Scipio made regarding the sheer power of marketing!
Between the Japanese, the nearby Latinos, and the folks in Philly, everyone seems to worship anything with an American label, which should be obvious by now. ☕
So, let me make this clear: not knowing players from the early 20th century in a country like America, where baseball isn't the primary obsession, is not some sign of being uncultured!!!!!!!
Adam Moore said:aside from the fact that he steered his squad all the way to the conference championship last year at forty years old—and statistically, if not just purely in terms of raw talent, he had a top-four season for a Hall of Fame career—I despise Favre from the bottom of my soul, yet the guy isn't overrated. I think perhaps a handful of people actually rank him ahead of Marino, Montana, Tom Brady, Elway, and Manning. And honestly? If they want to do that, fine.
Adam Moore said:I honestly believe the cost of gear is a much bigger hurdle. Plus, you have to consider that football didn't truly explode on a global scale until just recently, once networks in Europe and elsewhere finally started broadcasting the games.
By the way, if we're discussing athletes who are overrated in their respective sports, I have to step in and say Babe Ruth definitely doesn't belong on that list.
mistycyclist51 said:And yet, once again, the vast majority of students are preoccupied with football... if there is one thing we can say for certain, it's that it remains the undisputed king of sports in the USA..
and since we have wandered so incredibly far into off-topic territory😁
Adam Moore said:This is starting to look exactly like the same results I stumbled upon about a year ago. 🙂 Does anyone else feel like baseball only manages to stay relevant because they grind through 162 games a season, whereas basketball players get to coast through a mere 82? Is that really enough to sustain interest, or is the sheer volume of baseball games the only thing keeping the sport from fading into total obscurity compared to the NBA? 😬
Adam Moore said:I honestly have my doubts about whether this survey was even conducted using sound scientific methodology, let alone if it carries any actual credibility, but one thing is certain: hockey is undeniably more popular than soccer, the WNBA, IndyCar, WWE, or any of those other sports trailing further down the list. By the way, we are talking about viewership numbers here, not how many people actually step onto a field to play.I am certainly not convinced that cricket commands a larger global audience than American football, even if it happens to be the second most played sport on the planet. 🤷
Not to steer us away from the main topic, but😁
Raymond Anderson4 said:I find it baffling that hockey sits at number seven. Some teams struggle just to fill arenas that hold 16,000 or 17,000 people, and let’s be honest, even those aren't always packed to capacity.
