No clue? Honestly, it doesn't even matter—I was just wondering if anyone happened to have some actual data on how much commercial air travel has actually dropped
Thx Derrick. Well, that’s just how things work here—I can tell because I’ve spotted one plane in two days—but what I’m actually curious about is the US and Western Europe.
Looking at this map, you can clearly see there are flights running, but is this maybe only 20% of the total flight volume we used to see? Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue.
Does anyone have a rough idea of how much air traffic actually tanked during the pandemic? Personally, I’ve noticed hardly any planes in the sky over the last few days—even though if you look at this real-time map, it doesn't exactly look empty: https://www.flightradar24.com/41.14,16.61/2
Not that I really have any clue what things looked like normally before all this 🤔--it's hard to judge without a baseline, I guess.

It feels like a massive translation error or something, honestly, because there is no way in hell these results actually came from even 500 participants.
Fair enough, but if that's the case, it means the mortality rate is actually much lower. Which implies my numbers are closer to reality than that 10% death rate Branko was throwing around.🙏
That figure isn't just some random number—it’s actually the most accurate data point we have right now, given how things are looking. Though, honestly, I suspect the actual percentage is way lower when you account for the fact that the true infection count is almost certainly higher than what's being reported.
Or maybe you've got a different—and probably more precise—calculation going on? (And hey, I'm not being snarky here, I could very well be off myself.)
But honestly, that number doesn't mean squat—it’s not giving us the full picture at all.
The only real, accurate figure we have right now is that the mortality rate here in the United States is sitting at a fucking 1.4%... everything else is just the Golden State Warriors guessing in the dark.
We won't know the actual, definitive number until this whole epidemic is finally over, but it's going to be way closer to my estimate than to whatever nonsense Branko is peddling.

🤦
Honestly, some people on this forum really catch me off guard.

They say it doesn't matter if you're good-looking or persistent anymore—it's all about being married 😢
Look, I’ve said this more than once before, but at this rate, we’re going to see more people dying from sheer, unadulterated panic over this virus than from the actual flu itself...
It’s absolutely infuriating how they treat cancer patients like an afterthought, as if the only thing that matters now is catering to the handful of people who caught this bug
I was talking to a friend today who works as an anesthesiologist over at JPMorgan Chase's local medical center, and he says they haven't done a damn thing for two weeks. Everyone is just on standby because of the whole coronavirus and ventilator situation. Usually, they’re averaging about twenty surgeries a day, but now it’s strictly emergency cases only. They’ve shuffled everything around in the hospital; the staff is split into three teams of twelve, and once the hospital hits capacity with infected patients, they work for a week and then have to go into mandatory isolation for fourteen days.
Just imagine the fallout once this all blows over. You’ll have massive numbers of people passing away due to things totally unrelated to the virus, not to mention the absolute chaos when everyone tries to rush back in to make up for all the stuff they couldn't handle while being turned away. 🤦
By the way, this whole "everyone works 8 to 5" thing is just pure stupidity. I was out this morning and saw massive crowds and people practically shoving each other just to get to the bakery—I honestly don't see what they think they're accomplishing here. All they're doing is forcing everyone into stores at the exact same time. Plus, where are the folks who start their shifts at 7 or 8 supposed to go? 🙄
On top of that, the gas stations are staying open as usual, so you end up with these huge lines forming there right after 5 PM anyway. 🤦
Go ahead and find where I ever said—either personally or on behalf of the company—that we recommend anything like that to drivers, then come back and try to troll me. Honestly, I’ve forgotten more discussions than you’ve even posted, btw.

Look, if that's actually happening, and it seems more and more certain, why wait? Why not start tomorrow? Or Sunday? It's four days until Wednesday. By then, we'll probably have another 500 or 600 infections.
Personally, I'm all for isolating the elderly and those with health issues while letting everyone else live normally. If that won't work—and it clearly won't—then we need a total lockdown, not this half-measure we're dealing with now. This current setup is nothing.
And by the way, now that people in the city are heading out to their weekend homes, there could be quite a few cases popping up in the suburbs. I hope that doesn't happen, but I wouldn't be surprised.
+ footage from the hospital in Bergamo Pathetique 🙄
Pure Bergam Pathetique.

It’s just like how we sat around waiting three whole days to deal with those cafe closures—honestly, they could have shut the schools down at the exact same time. 🤷
By the way—I honestly think the most vulnerable people out there are actually the ones with the least discipline. I was out riding my bike today and the city is just absolutely crawling with people. Even the news sites are reporting that a group of seventy-year-olds decided to go out for some collective sunbathing and a dip in the Mississippi River today. Just wild. 🙏🤦 Honestly, people like that don't even need COVID—a common cold would probably land them straight in the ICU.
Got some info from a solid source saying that starting next week—most likely Wednesday—we're looking at a full-on lockdown. Basically, work, essential retail, and emergency services are the only things still running.
Here’s another piece that really says a lot if you actually look at it:
In Italy, the average age of death is hovering near 80, and almost everyone—nearly everyone—was dealing with at least one other underlying health issue.
By the way, I’m wondering why nobody is stepping up with the actual data to show how many people died from the flu this season in places like Italy, the USA, or even here, and then actually comparing those numbers to Covid.
I have a feeling we’d stumble upon some pretty interesting figures 🕺
Honestly, if you look at the global numbers—especially over in China where the epidemic is pretty much winding down—they speak for themselves. Italy is really the outlier here, mostly because they managed to make some incredibly boneheaded mistakes along the way.
A police curfew just makes zero sense to me—I mean, what the hell is the point of locking down a city at night? If you’re actually serious about restricting movement, just close everything down during the day instead.
