Bryan Adams6 said:Man, you’re just hating for no reason... if you’ve got beef with the mods, take it to their DMs. Posting here just makes you look pathetic, whining about how much detail isn't in the PDF when you could actually step up and write something useful every day to make this sub better instead.
stormyseal9 actually puts in the work. He hates the rules, sure, but he follows them and posts daily so people can grab those picks and make a quick buck since they don't follow the sport themselves. You and guys like you are just complaining. The mods aren't perfect, and the PDF sucks, but what are you doing to fix it? 👎

Bottom line: props to stormyseal9, he’s always someone I can actually have a real, reasoned conversation with.
Take Greco, for instance—even though he pushed back against the rules at first, he ended up becoming the absolute top contributor for tennis betting on this forum.

Anyway, I think I'm done posting in this thread. I'll wait for one of the admins to weigh in and give us their take.

Richard Morales79 said:I believe you. However, if you think it's acceptable for a moderator to conduct themselves that way, then we have a problem. I haven't seen anyone else acting like this besides you. Posts like that are a blatant insult to the community, and usually, they result in much heavier penalties. But fine. Whatever.

Look, at the end of the day, I'm just a guy on a forum, and I've taken my fair share of hits for controversial posts when they happen—but this? This has absolutely nothing to do with what we're actually discussing here.

Richard Morales79 said:Like I said before, moderation is fine—they probably turn a blind eye on other threads too. My point was more about your general vibe when you communicate—you tend to mock people, tell them to take it to private messages, or just straight up call them assholes.

I’ve actually taken plenty of cards myself for that kind of thing—mostly when I'm talking outside the main BetMGM boards—and I took them without complaining. 🤷
If you don't believe me, just ask Nica. 🙂

Look, if being sarcastic about a question that’s been asked twenty-four times already—when there's literally a dedicated megathread for it—is a crime, then go ahead and kill me. It doesn't deserve anything better than a snarky reply.

Richard Morales79 said:I have to chime in here too. I used to check that thread regularly and contribute, but I ended up getting banned for something that everyone else was allowed to do—just a bit of lightheartedness. It's funny how irony is tolerated now, yet a simple joke isn't. So, I just walked away from the Betting Shop topic entirely. On top of that, I actually dealt with some insults from the moderator Eric Fox7 when I asked a perfectly normal question in the chat thread.

The moderators might be doing their jobs okay most of the time, but there's definitely a double standard happening somewhere, and they're the only ones who know why. Like shadowgardener10 mentioned, they really need to decide if they’re going to lead with common sense or just blindly enforce the rulebook.

Richard Morales79 said:Just so we aren't always complaining about bans and strikes, let's have a thread where we can actually give the mods some credit for once.

As far as I'm concerned, a huge thumbs up for the mod team—Eric Fox7,STINGer,YELLOW ANTS and valsimot53.

Regarding those subjective opinions—claims that Eric Fox7 and Joshua Garcia8 aren't cut out for moderation, or accusations of laziness because they lack some "instinct" for it—I honestly don't even want to dignify that with a response. I'm not interested in sinking to that level of debate. 😉

Like I’ve said many times before, we’re all human, and mistakes happen—it's just part of life. No one is making moves out of malice here. If you see posts that you believe violate the sub-forum rules, just report them, and they'll be dealt with if they actually break the rules. I can't possibly read every single post across every single thread—I'm not a robot, after all, and I have a real life to attend to—so occasionally, things slip through the cracks. Also, dragging discussions about moderation into the University of California betting parlor sub-forum won't be tolerated. That's not how I want to communicate. If there's any confusion or if you have questions, use the PM feature.

As for those controversial entries over in the football this month sub-forum, here is a quick excerpt from the rules:

When posting a parlay or specific pairs, you need to include a brief explanation—the key reasons why you're betting on that specific combo. When we pick a parlay, the assumption is that it wasn't just a random guess; we should have actual reasoning behind it. Since we have those reasons, it shouldn't be an issue to list them out...

Engaging in a discussion (provided it's reasoned) about the parlays is allowed—in fact, it's encouraged.
Commenting on the events you bet on is perfectly fine, provided you stick to the sub-forum rules.

The only thing that doesn't surprise me is how the exact same names keep popping up constantly in threads like these. 🙂

I'm still waiting for aron49 to show up, and then it'll be official. 🙂

Fine then, maybe I'll just start posting my picks with a heavy dose of irony from now on since that's what's allowed!🤷",It's honestly hilarious how everything with him is always some excuse about irony, sarcasm, or whatever other nonsense, yet when anyone else does it, they get slapped with a ban🤷. I mean, I'm just sitting here wondering why he hasn't been promoted to admin yet, considering everything he's done for us

Look, if the issue here is failing to catch the irony—especially after a whole debate where people were basically begging for the return of those old posts where guys would drop fake slips with astronomical amounts and zero explanation—then honestly, screw it. Let it all go to hell.

So, Zalmonik got banned just because he pointed out some irregularities. Honestly, it’s becoming a bit of a pattern around here, isn't it? You try to call out something that doesn't look right—maybe a little slip-up in the system or a rule being bent—and suddenly you're the one getting the boot. It’s pretty wild if you think about it.☕

I’ve told you three times already—and I mean it—that isn't a valid reason for a ban.

stormyseal9 said:
George Barnes25 I can't even begin to tell you how much this is driving me crazy! Like, seriously, does anyone else feel like we're just spinning our wheels here? It’s like when you’re stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the I-405 in LA, just staring at brake lights and wondering where it all went wrong, right? And don't even get me started on the sheer absurdity of the whole situation because it feels like every single time we think we've made some kind of progress, someone comes along and throws a massive wrench in the gears! Is it just me, or is everyone else losing their minds too? I mean, come on! You’d think after everything we've been through, things would actually start making sense for once, but instead, we're just left here scratching our heads while the world keeps moving on without us! It’s absolutely ridiculous!
Man, it’s been over a month since I even thought about logging back into this account, but here I am, finally getting around to giving you an answer!

Why on earth wouldn't you bring up the clans when they’re staring us right in the face? I mean, look, I'm not even saying they're all out to get each other or anything like that, but let's be real here—there are certain people out there who just act like the rules don't apply to them, right? It's like they live in their own little world where the standard guidelines just vanish into thin air!

You’re totally missing the point here. Like, seriously, if you actually took a second to read what I wrote instead of just skimming, you’d realize the whole damn reason I started this thread wasn't even about my suspension! I wasn't out here whining about getting benched or whatever, but then these two "precious" moderators swoop in and steer the conversation toward my penalty just to dodge the actual issue I brought up. Isn't it funny how they always do that? They twist the narrative just so we don't talk about the real problem!

I’m still hanging around here reading all your nonsense, and honestly, I see people breaking every single rule and ignoring every request in the book, yet what happens? Nothing! It feels like the mods only step in to hand out penalties to specific individuals, and even then, it's only when someone gets pushed so far they finally snap and deserve the card. What kind of system is that, anyway?

For instance.
So, Titanoid just drops a bunch of picks without even a single shred of explanation, like we're all just supposed to take his word for it? Then Joshua Garcia8 jumps in to give him a heads-up, and what does he do? He claims he saw the results in a crystal ball or that his uncle's buddy told him! Seriously, is he for real asking if that’s okay? Then Joshua Garcia8 just goes ahead and throws in a smiley face like everything is fine. I mean, was that actually a moderator stepping in, or just some random person hanging out on the forum again? Honestly, who knows anymore!
So, Tsigi goes and breaks the rules in that SPAT thread—you know, the one where he’s acting like he’s part of the "board of directors" or whatever—and does he learn? Does he apologize? Hell no! He just keeps doing the exact same thing over and over again, and then, only after he pulls the same stunt for the millionth time, does he finally decide to actually take the penalty. Like, seriously, does anyone else find this infuriating? It's like watching a car crash in slow motion where the driver refuses to hit the brakes until they're already in the ditch!

It’s honestly hilarious how it always works out the same way, isn't it? You’ve got the exact same crowd pulling the same stunts over and over again, yet the rules somehow only apply to certain people! Like, why is it that some folks get called out and slapped with a penalty while everyone else just gets a little smiley face and a pat on the head? It’s total nonsense!

I’m signing off on that one right here—it’s just an absolute fact at this point, isn't it? Like, let's be real for a second, some people just walk around with way more rights than everyone else!🤷So people love to complain when someone doesn't drop a full-blown deep dive analysis, right? Like, "Where's the breakdown? Where's the data?" But then you look at other guys who get a free pass to post whatever they want without saying a single intelligent thing, and it makes you wonder what's actually going on here! It’s totally inconsistent! And don't even get me started on how Zalmonik got banned just because he had the nerve to point out some shady irregularities. Seriously, since when is calling out nonsense against the rules? It's absolute madness!☕Honestly, I think it’s just plain stupid how they're forcing everyone to do these analyses, like, seriously? On basically every other sports board out there dealing with the same kind of stuff, nobody's breathing down your neck to provide a breakdown—it’s always totally voluntary, you know? Why even make it a requirement here? It’s such a drag!

We’ve gone over this at least five times already—and honestly, I feel like I’ve had to write it out to you at least ten. 🤷

With just two rounds left in the qualifiers for the U21 Euro 2013 in Israel, here’s how Group 8 is looking:

1 England U21 6 5 0 1 21 3 +18 15
2 Norway U21 6 4 1 1 10 5 +5 13
---------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Belgium U21 6 2 2 2 11 12 -1 8

Round 7

Belgium-Norway
Azerbaijan-England

So, the top team in the group—out of ten total teams—plus the four best runners-up all punch their tickets to the Euro (not counting the hosts, Israel, who are already in). Honestly, the Belgians don't have much of a prayer at grabbing one of those runner-up spots—they'd basically need to win both remaining matches, including that final home game against Iceland. Then you've got the Norwegians, who have to face England away—a match they'll likely drop—and even if they managed a draw, it probably wouldn't be enough to secure a runner-up spot if Belgium pulls off a win against Iceland today. At this point, it really just comes down to motivation. They aren't exactly fighting for survival anymore, though they certainly have the talent—this group constantly churns out new stars, and a few players who could still help the U21 side are already being called up to the senior national team.

The odds on option 1 look more than decent; the betting lines are sitting at @ 2.15. Kickoff is tonight at 19:30 over at the Beveren stadium.

Justin Fowler29 said:So, what does 2.3/3 actually mean in this context? I feel like we're overcomplicating things, but then again, that's just how these discussions usually go—everyone's looking for a deep philosophical breakdown when it might just be simple math. Or maybe it isn't. Honestly, sometimes you spend more time debating the definition than actually dealing with the numbers themselves.

So, I was looking at this setup—running both a 2/3 and a 3/3 system on a single slip. Just a standard parlay, straight to the point.
So, looking at the numbers here—we’ve got four combinations in total. That breaks down to two where you're hitting 2 out of 3 tries, and then just one where you actually nail the full 3 out of 3.

I didn't even notice that Joshua Garcia8 had already jumped in with an answer. 🙂

We’ve got a massive slate of games hitting the field today in the Europa League... anyone else's brain feeling a bit fried trying to map this out? I'm currently staring at the schedule, trying to find some logic in the madness—any brainstorming sessions happening? 😕

It’s a total disaster—Dila Gori is sitting at 1 win and 1 draw, and they’ve basically wiped out Cipranin and Dance. Honestly, looking at their domestic form, it seems like they’ve completely checked out of the league just to chase an EL spot—I mean, three losses in the first three rounds? That’s a bold strategy, if you can even call it that.
The odds are looking pretty juicy—I’m talking 3.85 on the 1 (Parlay) and a massive 9.05 on the handicap (HL). Definitely worth a look.
They dropped that first one 1-0 over in Portugal.
Our guy Skender misliti is stepping up to guard the net against the Georgians. 🙂

Honestly, I think both Bordeaux and Newcastle deserve some credit here—they both managed draws in those first legs—and let’s be real, they’re significantly better sides than Zvezda or Atromitos. Then you've got Dnipro, featuring our guys Strinić and Kalinić; word on the street is they've actually put together a pretty solid squad this season. They really ought to be walking away with a win against Liberec, even if a 0-0 or a 1-1 draw would suit them just fine. The only issue is that the odds are frankly ridiculous—looking at 1.35, 1.35, and 1.45... it's just not worth the headache.

Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers
Just eyeballing the stats—and honestly, just going off a gut feeling about how the MLS plays lately—🙂
I’m eyeing a 2:1 scoreline (their last four matchups all ended exactly like that) (@ 7.15 at Lotto, though maybe we see a better price live on SS). Of course, you could go for the Over 2.5 goals (@ 2.05 at Lottery) if you're feeling slightly bolder, or just stick to the Over 2.5 (@ 1.5 on SS) if you want to play it safe. 🙂
I actually tried a double chance 2/1 (@ 28 at Lotto), even though my gut keeps telling me it might end in a draw. 🤔

Kickoff is in less than thirty minutes.

1:1

It’ll probably be the same story even after a third person weighs in, but whatever...

Just so we're clear: I truly believe that post was deleted for no reason. It didn't break any rules, wasn't offensive, or anything like that. It just got nuked because a moderator decided it "served no purpose" anymore. 🤷 Everything that happened after that was just a domino effect 😉 (including that warning I got—which was totally justified, by the way, since I forgot about the specific post Eric Fox7 was quoting. Like he says, I didn't get flagged for *that* post, but for the next one I already explained)

More: You posted part of a private message I sent you. 😉

And hey, my bad on that comparison. I thought I was hanging out in the chat room instead of this OI thread.

I'll read what the third person thinks (I can already guess how it'll go), and then I'm done. I'm stepping away from the forums, at least until things change around here. Don't bother telling me you'll miss me; I know I won't be missed.

Later.

It’s a shame to see you taking this stance, honestly. Regardless of this specific argument, you've always been a standout member here and have contributed a ton to this subforum. Walking away just because things aren't running exactly the way you think they should... well, it feels a bit pointless, 🤷

Your post lost its point once the Agent posted their explanation of the pairings. It was deleted—just deal with it 🤷.
I’ve already explained why it was removed (both in chat and now for the third time), yet here you are asking the same thing again.

George Barnes25 said:Just one question for the respected Moderator.
Where did that post go—the one where I was calling out how the Agent failed to explain the pairings?

Tominator said:It was deleted because they ended up posting an explanation in the meantime.
In the future, just report any post that breaks the subforum rules instead of replying to it.

Explanation number one

George Barnes25 said:I don't see why that would be a reason to delete it, but fine—you're the Moderator, you call the shots.

Messy business, commenting on the Moderator.

Tominator said:Because the post was in the wrong place. You don't comment on posts that break the rules; you report them.

Explanation number two

George Barnes25 said:Alright. It would just be nice if the Moderators actually reacted to a post like that, since they have in the past. And based on the replies, it's clear Joshua Garcia8 saw the post (even before me). Maybe this post will get nuked too under the "commenting on moderation" rule, and honestly, I don't care. See you over on Subforum 10 soon enough.

Commenting on the Moderator—something you clearly know you're doing. 🤷
But even then, you didn't even get a warning; you only got one after another explanation from our colleague Joshua Garcia8, which you then went ahead and commented on again.

EOD.

My posts were deleted for absolutely no reason!

Look, I didn't "ban" you from sharing your thoughts! It’s not like that at all. I just asked that we get a third-party perspective instead—you know, like getting a second opinion from someone outside the circle. 😉

Actually, they weren't. This chat isn't some town hall meeting where we debate the rules or nitpick everyone else's comments—I've already told you twice (okay, maybe three times now) 🤷

You're practically baiting me to make a clone just so I can drop some picks in the chat! I'm dying to see if you’re just going to act like a regular forum user or if you're actually stepping up as a Moderator. 🙂
Don't worry, I won't! 😉

I honestly don't even know if there's any point in trying to argue with you...
Come on, let's go!

Look, you’re a Moderator now, not just some regular user who occasionally steps up. You can't just flip a switch between being a casual poster and being in charge whenever it suits you. It’s like a referee in an NBA game—you don't just blow the whistle when you feel like it and then go back to watching the game like everyone else. If you have the title, own it. Keep this sub clean and maintain order consistently, not just when the mood strikes. Do the job right, all the time.

Look, what I told you about that cop still stands. Whether you like it or not, that’s just the hand you've been dealt.

Look, you know damn well who Zoom was aiming at. It wasn't some ghost or someone who doesn't exist. He was taking a shot at everyone claiming there were cliques involved—basically anyone siding with the crowd that’s unhappy with the Moderator. He got handed a red card regardless of what that specific post said. And get this: my post got edited (I was actually talking about the comment written right underneath it when I mentioned a "warning"), but his? His stayed exactly the same. That's just one example of how things are working around here.
Anyway, this is what shows up under my post after I've made the edits:
George Barnes25, please watch your language from here on out.
Last edit of the Mediterranean Sea: June 26, 2012, at 8:16 PM. Reason: Deleting an annoying comment.
(And now I'm paying close attention to the vocabulary:)

😉 )

I honestly think Zoom should’ve been way more careful with their wording here. Especially since he’s basically taking a subtle swipe at the Moderator after getting hit with that warning.
I didn't get a strike, and neither did Zoom. My post is just being edited and commented on while his stays live. Honestly, it’d be better if we both got flagged—keep things fair for everyone, regardless of which side they're on. 😬 )

You weren't even around between the First Post and the fourth one!
The conversation went like this.

First Post
Second Post
Eric Fox7 here: It’s because the thread is in the wrong section. We don't jump in to comment on posts that break the rules—we just report them. (It’s all laid out right at the bottom of the post.)
Third Post!
So then you just jump in like, "Oh, I'm practically part of the moderation team and the inner circle," blah, blah, blah!
Fourth Post
My posts keep getting deleted and I’m picking up warnings just because I’m commenting on the Moderator!

So, I either got flagged because of that coffee comment or because I compared you to Joe the cop. Look, if that’s why I got a warning, fine by me! But honestly, he basically baited me with that skinny little argument of yours: "I'm a forum regular first."
So if "contacting the Moderator" just means me asking where my thread went—since that was the only one they nuked—or me saying I don't agree with Eric Fox7, even though he had the last word, then what? 🤷 Look, basically, I don't see eye to eye with him on this one, but hey, I respect his call. So, I just dropped it. Period.

Here we go again:

Make up your mind! First I didn't get it because of the fourth point, then suddenly I did. And looking at the thread above, there’s zero moderator interference in posts two and three—unless you’ve suddenly developed a unique opinion on that. (So, what is it? Are you saying my post is missing, that I'm interfering with the Moderator, or are we going back over why I disagree with Eric Fox7 while still respecting his take?)

Here we go again: Look, I didn't start this thread just to whine about getting a penalty, and I'm definitely not looking for sympathy or asking for it to be wiped from my record. But when you start pushing my buttons like that, I've gotta say something back!

So, the header for this subforum says: "Your feedback, ideas, complaints, and comments. How can we make this Forum better and more polite?"
I started this thread because I want to help make this forum—specifically the betting subforum—actually better. This isn't the first time people have complained about how you and Eric Fox7 handle moderation. Look, I get it. It’s not exactly easy dealing with all the trolls who just show up to stir the pot, but it’s also not right when it feels like certain people get treated with kid gloves while others don't.

Can someone else weigh in here? And please, let's not have Tominator chime in, since this hits a bit close to home for him too.

Edit:
After digging through this a bit deeper, just one more thing:

Quote:
Tominator says:
Since the post was in the wrong spot. You don't comment on posts that break the rules; you just report them.

(I can't quote him directly because the post was deleted, so I'm just typing what it said)

Then Joshua Garcia8 says:

So, my post got nuked because apparently I commented on a post that "breaks the rules"—except there isn't even a rule to break, it's just a request! The bottom line is: it was deleted because it was a repeated request (your words), not because I was arguing with the Moderator or quoting rules or whatever.

The whole mess really started because they deleted that one post. That’s what triggered the second, third, and fourth posts.

🤷

I wasn't actually planning on chiming in, but since I got tagged (and since nobody was specifically asking for my two cents 🤔), I'll just say this: personally—and I think Joshua Garcia8 would agree—I don't coddle anyone, nor do I have any intention of starting. If people aren't fans of how I moderate (or how anyone else does it), well, that’s perfectly fine by me. If everyone agreed with everything I said, we might as well just shut the whole forum down. Of course, there are mistakes made during moderation—we're only human, after all—but we're actively working to fix them and trying our best to improve the subforum we manage.
Drawing massive conclusions based on a single outlier—especially one that isn't even a comparable case—and then building an entire argument out of "what ifs" is just misplaced, and frankly, I don't want to waste my time entertaining it.
