I was watching some highlights last night and it just hit me how much the landscape of top-tier sports has shifted over the last decade. It feels like every time a player hits their absolute peak, they are immediately vacuumed up by one or two massive organizations that seem to have infinite resources.

It’s getting harder to root for the "underdog" story when the hierarchy feels so incredibly rigid. I remember back in the day when a standout talent could stay at a mid-table club for years and just become a legend there. Now, it feels like if you aren't being scouted by the absolute giants by age 22, you've already missed your window.

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing the best play against the best, but I worry we're heading toward a future where the same three or four names rotate through the trophy cabinets forever, while everyone else just fights for scraps. It makes the league tables feel almost predetermined sometimes.

Do you guys think this concentration of talent is inevitable, or is there still a way for smaller clubs to actually disrupt the status quo?

I always feel like the higher the price tag, the less room there is for a player to actually settle in. It feels like one bad month and the fans turn on you instantly, regardless of the talent. Do you think huge transfer fees actually make it harder for new players to succeed?

Does that $645 include the room and board, or did you pay for that separately? Also, does anyone know how long it usually takes for the bill to arrive at your house?

They don't calculate it that way anymore. They aren't billing for the room itself, but rather the injury treatment. Like... the stay plus the surgery plus the meds... all in one. At least, that's how it works at the Mayo Clinic. And yeah, I had to pay right when I left because otherwise, they won't even give you your discharge papers. Maybe my situation is different since I was an emergency case... I guess I don't know. It might be best if you just call Medicare to find out what's going on.

I guess I need some advice from experienced surgeons or wound care pros on how to handle these stitches. They're incredibly dry, they feel tight, and the itching is driving me crazy. There's also this massive swelling right underneath them. It looks okay visually, I suppose, but how do I actually take care of them so the scarring isn't just a disaster later? Maybe I should be applying something like Aquaphor to keep the skin hydrated so it doesn't feel so taut while healing? I don't know, I'm probably being stupid here.

I broke my leg on August 14th. Had to have surgery to fix a four-part ankle fracture with displacement. I mean, what can I even say... I could still move my toes. It was painful, but I had some mobility. Honestly, I don't know why you're waiting. Just go see a doctor. Or maybe just head straight to the ER.

Fatty tissue. You can surgically remove it, or maybe it just... shifts. I had this on the back of my hand and it just sort of pulled away... honestly, I think I might have just hit my hand and it popped or dispersed or something...

I just don't get one thing... why on earth are people with issues like this seeking advice from amateurs? Since your last checkup (you said six months ago), anything could have happened. It’s honestly foolish and irresponsible to ask "people with similar experiences" to give you a prognosis or suggest medication. If something is wrong, GO TO A DOCTOR!!!!! Don't try to play doctor with yourself. Bleeding every two weeks is NEVER normal, period! Since this started last month, I sincerely hope you actually saw an OB-GYN and that the issue is already sorted out.
We women have this terrible habit of just brushing off our health problems and acting like it doesn't matter. We really need to fix that mindset!!! Especially when it comes to stuff like this.
