Go ahead and point out exactly where I’ve insulted anyone else in this thread.
I can critique the concept of this topic or criticize junk in general,
but that isn't a direct attack on any specific individual here.

The only thing I actually replied to was Edward Green's post regarding angels, Jesus, and the breaking of the second commandment and all that... 🤣

Like I already said, I don't go after users individually.

Actually, that’s not true. 😉 I know people who have struggled with addiction, but that was way before we ever met. If they decide to head down that path again... 👎 I’d try to help, sure, but I highly doubt anyone would actually listen to me. It's an impossible battle trying to save someone who has zero interest in being saved. 😉 So, no, I am not planning on spending the next ten years watching them spiral deeper and deeper into a hole. No thanks.

Edward Green said:Look, just make sure you aren't out there mindlessly preaching for some free ride like a gold-plated handout. 👍

Look, I already told you what they ought to be doing about it. Yeah. I paid it. Right then and there. Out of my own pocket if that’s what it took. ☕

Can I bring along clothes, makeup, newspapers, or books too? I could even grab the utility bills—electricity, water, gas—so we can just settle all those payments at once. 👍

Do you people even realize what kind of country we live in, or what?

Don't go acting like we're living in Sweden. ☕

No, I’m pretty sure we can handle that ourselves. 😉

You can take those kinds of mindless comments and shove them. I’m here to discuss the topic at hand, not to pick a fight with you personally.

Look, we don't have to see eye to eye on every single thing. 😉 ☕

amberorca192 said:You think I don't pay for things like heptanone or lately, Subutex, which they use to treat addicts?

Exactly...

It’s like taking an alcoholic and, instead of letting them drink a premium bourbon, you put them on a regimen of some cheap substitute whiskey and then foot the bill for that lifestyle for the rest of their lives. 🙏

If I had to sit there and watch someone close to me tear their own life apart right in front of my eyes, I don't think they'd ever see me again. ☕
If someone is hell-bent on destroying themselves one way or another, fine by me. I'm not going to stand in their way.

The only thing I’d be willing to provide for addicts at the taxpayers' expense is a dignified exit. 🥳

Hannah Davis18 said:So you actually think every addict acts the exact same way?

Look, I couldn't care less about some theoretical profile of an addict. We’re talking about anything from a filthy, lowlife bum to a high-society doctor who’s been chasing a heroin high for twenty years. 👎

Now you tell me: does that doctor need a supervised injection site? Does she do her business in her bathroom at home, or in a stall at the office, or in a public park, or just out on the street? Does she need clean needles? And does she have a bank account with zero dollars in it, forcing her to steal medical supplies from her workplace just to get by? 🙄
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
Yeah. ☕
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
I get it, I really do. That was meant to be sarcastic. 😉 Look, people don't just wake up and decide they want to be sick.
But let's be real—who exactly is handing out the needles to those addicts in the first place? 😕

That's the point I was trying to make.

The bottom line is that the government isn't going to cut checks for everyone.

So you end up in a situation where tax dollars are being funneled toward all sorts of people—like subsidizing bailouts for drunk drivers or whatever else—
while there’s absolutely no funding left for others, like a kid battling a devastating illness.
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
Edward Green said:Let them pay for it themselves. 🙂

Oh, I get it—it's because diabetics are just bad people who chose this lifestyle and diet specifically to earn their illness, so the government shouldn't have to cover their insulin strips 😍 since we should instead use that tax money to build a dedicated lounge for junkies where they can shoot up without a care in the world. 😍

Edward Green said:You're basically telling a parent whose child has cancer that it's perfectly fine for that kid to die just because the family can't afford the medical bills.

Right, because I've certainly never heard of a single charity drive, benefit concert, or whatever else where people raised money to send a child for surgery. 🥳

I guess that's because the government covers everything for them, right?

Edward Green said:Natural selection at work. If you can't afford it, you die.

Exactly. That’s precisely the direction this country is heading. Or did you just not bother to check what actually stays "free" under our healthcare system? Spoiler alert: not much.

Edward Green said:So you don't?

No, but I have my parents looking out for me while I finish my degree. And once I'm done, I actually have these wild dreams of living off my own paycheck.🥳

amberorca192 said:I can't speak for you, but in my small town, I see kids hanging out by the parks or wandering near fences all the time. It wouldn't take much for some curious kid to grab a vial of insulin just to play around, and then someone ends up getting hurt.

The solution would be simple: just set up a dedicated bin for medical waste right next to the standard recycling bins for glass, paper, and plastic. 😍 😬

But I really want to know—even if we had a secure spot for disposing of this stuff, would people actually bother using it? 🤔 Or would this only ever work if it were handled within those specific facilities?
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
Yeah, obviously, I’m always watching my step when I’m walking through the local parks. 😬

And honestly, I pretty much only hang out with former addicts these days. 😳 😬
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
Honestly, I’d just scrap the whole public system entirely and switch exclusively to private insurance; then you'd see how things really work—it'd be a pure "pay-to-play" scenario where the money talks. 😬 but that's just me. 🥳
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
Since I’m not working and I don't contribute a dime to anyone...
my mother handles all the bills. 😁

I get that people donate and all that, but this whole situation with Social Security is just peak stupidity, and if you ask me, that’s where we need to draw the line.

At this rate, we might as well start supplying them with drugs too. ☕
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
Let's just go ahead and set up designated safe zones for alcoholics.
Maybe we should build soundproofed rooms specifically for killers so they can take out their targets without accidentally catching some random bystander in the crossfire. ☕

By all means, let's do that.
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
Seriously, just go for it. If you ask me, they should just set up a private fund and let those wealthy Democrats or anyone else who supports them dump their cash into it.

Besides, we all know how absolutely stellar our healthcare system is working right now.

I mean, diabetics can barely get their damn testing strips, and you people actually want to raise taxes for these idiots? 🙄

Look, I have my own strong opinions about Democrats, and no, I wouldn't fork over a single cent for them if my life depended on it. 😠 😈
Drug Policy: Safe Injection Sites (SIS) in Health ·
I’m just sitting here wondering who on earth would actually foot the bill for this. 🥳
