Look, if I ever found myself in some left-wing Asian country, I wouldn't even trust their tap water! 😬 🤣

I'm not out here studying molecular biology. 😉

Look, there’s still a glimmer of hope here. Maybe one day you’ll actually sit down and listen to an introductory molecular biology lecture. 😉

By that logic, viruses wouldn't be responsible for causing cancer either.

But they absolutely are.

Laura Walker6 said:Do you actually understand what hypochondriacs are? You know how those types of people can practically manifest an illness just through pure autosuggestion... and then boom, they're actually sick the next day. So, what's your take on that? How do you explain it?

Psychiatrists exist specifically to handle mental health issues.

And no, I don't buy into this idea that there's some kind of virus that causes hypochondria.😬

Look, there’s a massive difference between arguing that modern medicine mostly just masks symptoms rather than tackling the root cause, and going off the deep end by claiming things like viruses don't actually cause disease.

Laura Walker6 said:Sure, people love to point fingers at microorganisms as the culprits when they're just looking at the surface level of things. But if you really dig into it, those bugs are only able to take hold because your body's defenses have become too weak to repel an invasion.🙂

Oh, so you think you're some kind of health guru now, huh? 😍 I could just inject HIV directly into your system if I felt like it. 😍 And you'll probably end up lecturing us on some obscure, incredibly tedious immune cell that even most scientists haven't bothered to memorize. 😍 What exactly isn't going to stop you from getting infected? 😍

So, let me get this straight: if my immune system is running low, the HIV virus is just going to spontaneously manifest out of thin air right next to me and launch an immediate assault, but otherwise, it would just completely bypass me? That's the logic we're working with here? 😍

I don't know about you, but I spend my time staring at microorganisms through a microscope. 😍

Absolutely brilliant. 😍 Go sign up for the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology right now. 😍

Clap.

So, I could basically just walk into my biology lecture and tell the professor I’m opting out of microbiology and parasitology entirely, because honestly, those subjects have absolutely zero relevance to actual diseases. 🥳 🙏

Oh great, now they’re going to start peddling some Herbalife shake or some "miracle elixir" that supposedly cures everything under the sun... 🥳 I might just head over to 🙂. 🙄

Like colloidal silver, for instance. 😬
By the way, you've got the wrong section. You actually need to be over here: http://www.forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=141

I just... can't... believe... this... 🤣
Richard Lewis16 said:ONLY THE CONTENTS OF THE BOOK CAN BE COPIED

Then why does it say, for instance, "this book is protected by copyright and may not be partially reproduced, stored in a reproduction system..."
?
Amanda Hernandez2 said:It’s essential reading, sure. But honestly, how many American college students can actually afford to drop all that cash on every single original textbook?

Well, look... nobody is forcing anyone to go to college. ☕

[I mean, I know from experience—my university library is basically a graveyard for those kinds of expensive books. 😠 😬]

Well, you certainly picked quite the role model... 🙏 😬
... she really ought to go take a look at the Higher Education Act for once. 😉
Are you talking about a J.D.? 🤔

A Juris Doctor and a Medical Doctor are fundamentally different beasts compared to

a Doctor of Science. 🥳

I mean, if you don't get that...
Just a quick correction here:

Justin Fox said:You only put "Dr." before your name if you have a PhD; otherwise, if you're a medical doctor, you write "dr. med." after your name (with a lowercase "d").

The capitalization doesn't really matter 😬, because if you hold a doctorate, it's listed as Ph.D.
[similarly, a Master of Science is M.S.] before the name.

So, for example, it would look like [ah, one day 😬]

Ph.D. Megan Reed, M.D.
specializing in psychiatry

heheeh 😬
Once again, I find myself agreeing with Justin Fox. That’s twice in a single week. 😲 😁

Saw this on TV the other day:

xxx yyy, MD
neurosurgeon

If that guy doesn't feel the need to overcompensate, then I don't see why anyone else should bother... sure, he's a neurosurgeon, but since he clearly hasn't earned a PhD or a research doctorate, there is absolutely no reason to tack that "Dr." title in front of his
name.

That's just plain wrong. 😁
No, it wasn't stitched up; it just healed this way... entirely on its own. 😬
If you're feeling the same way, I’m still dealing with a scar from a procedure I had back in October of last year, and it's still stuck being this bright purple color. 😬
