How to get by on less sleep? in Health ·
I’ve been doing quite a bit of digging into this topic lately. Take Nikola Tesla, for instance—the man famously operated on just about four hours of sleep a night throughout his entire life. There are plenty of other iconic figures who followed a similar pattern. However, they didn't just power through; they would incorporate these quick, twenty-minute power naps during the day to recharge.

I’m honestly not sure if that’s actually healthy in the long run, but man, I would love to have that kind of superpower.🙂
If that's the case, why don't they just manufacture cigarettes that contain nothing but nicotine? 😁
Forgive me if I’m overstepping here, but from what I’ve read, you should be about 99% nicotine-free after just three weeks.

So, just out of curiosity, what would happen if someone—say, me—decided to slap on a Nicorette patch after being smoke-free for two months or so🙂?

Look at it this way: if you finally make the call to kick the habit, it’s a whole lot easier to stay clean when you aren't constantly pumping nicotine back into your system.

Sure, they cooperate on the surface, but at the end of the day, they’re still sticking closely to their own community.

Christian Doyle3 said:Sure, but it’s more than just that—I’m constantly overthinking ways I can step up and help people. Honestly? It’s a mix of genuine empathy and a bit of selfishness, too—because, let’s be real, I feel a lot better about myself when I know I’m not just sitting around on my hands while someone else is struggling through it.

If that's the case, why didn't you just ask for advice on how to help that other person instead of making this post🙂?

Come on, please just take a second to read what I wrote to you!
I’m telling you, there is absolutely no reason to stress out about this—it is a completely normal situation.

I honestly feel like worrying about a bit of grease around your mouth or some paper stuck to a hot dog isn't actually OCD. I deal with those exact same "symptoms" myself, and if you ask me, they’d probably bother 90% of regular people without WHO issues too! 🙂
Are homophobes just closeted? in Psychology ·

I don't get it—are you actually rooting for more anti-gay hate?

Gerald Rivera60 said:Those aren't even really analogous examples. According to certain psychologists—specifically those from psychodynamic and related schools of thought—homosexuality involves deep-seated psychological roots. They suggest it triggers defense mechanisms, such as reaction formation, when someone encounters homosexuality. Essentially, you adopt the exact opposite stance as a way to defend yourself against your own impulses.
It’s similar to being excessively polite to someone who is getting under your skin when you aren't allowed to snap at them; the only difference here is that this reaction formation happens almost entirely unconsciously.
That said, I don't believe every homophobe is a latent homosexual. While some certainly are, I suspect the majority simply possess what is known as an authoritarian personality.

So, are these latent homosexuals actually aware that they're gay, or is it all happening subconsciously? That part isn't quite clear to me.🙂
