It’s because blogs and forums handle things differently.
We're using Codecademy here, whereas a blog would use HTML tags.
As for the angle brackets: CTRL + ALT + F = [ CTRL + ALT + G = ]

Once you're there, look for the circled BROWSE button and give it a click. You can then hunt down the specific image you want to upload to the forum. Once you find it, select it and hit the HOST PICTURE button marked by the arrow)
Just hang on a second while the window updates. You'll see a thumbnail of your uploaded image (marked with an arrow) along with four different lines of code. Pick the one labeled IMG (circled), copy the whole string, and paste it right into your post.
And there you have it! Your image should now be showing up in your post. 🙂 (My image ended up looking tiny like this, but that wasn't Imgur's fault—it's probably best to resize your images to about 500 or 600 pixels wide before you start uploading.)

Sure thing. If you check out the icons in the image above, you'll see there's a little indicator next to every thread. It lets you know right away if a topic is locked 🙂
