That’s just how the Windows indexing works, I guess. I don't really get why everyone freaks out about the hard drive running hot for the first couple of days—honestly, you probably won't even notice it because the heat actually slows down the indexing process anyway. It usually wraps things up in a few hours or maybe a day if you're actually using the PC. After that, you won't even realize it's running in the background.
I honestly just leave everything on default settings—Austin style. I’m not changing a single thing and I don't really plan to, mostly because my PC has finally been running like it's brand new for like six months straight now!😬
Maybe the drivers didn't install correctly or something. Give those a shot first—and if it still won't turn on, try going to personalize-->window color-->enable transparency.
I honestly think they’ve made the installation so straightforward now that even someone who barely knows how to use a computer could set up Windows. If you actually need a tutorial, then you’re probably 🙏

So, are you clicking on All Programs right next to the search bar? In my opinion, it’s probably like five times faster to just type part of the program's name into the search box than it is to go hunting through All Programs.
Honestly, I’m not even surprised and I’m definitely not complaining. If I give them 40GB, they can do whatever they want with it for all I care 😉 When I strip away the WinSxS folder, my Windows 7 installation drops down to just 7.02GB.

15.3 GB (16,445,300,736 bytes) 73,609 Files, 16,149 Folders that's "just" the Windows folder
Well, I'm running Windows 7 myself 😉 And on Windows 7, they call it the Pagefile (or paging file, or whatever xD) Look, it automatically creates shadow copies whenever you install drivers. Since you’re installing one, then restarting, then doing it again—like, xy times—it just piles up a bunch of copies. Then you've got your antivirus stuff and all that. Basically, after I did a fresh format and installed everything brand new, I ended up with like a gig and a half of shadow copies, which is why I suggested running d. Cleanup.
Does anyone know why the hibernate option isn't showing up in my Start menu alongside Sleep and Restart? I'm on Windows 7x64Pro
Man, there are just way too many files here, isn't there? Maybe try running a disk cleanup first—but like, before you hit that d. Cleanup button—to clear out everything except for the most recent shadow copy. Also, you should probably double-check how big your Pagefile is set to... just to be safe.

Honestly, I still don't really get this whole phenomenon. If some group of developers over at Microsoft decided that specific partition is necessary—well, I just don't see why people feel the need to mess with it. It's not like you're going to lose anything significant because of 100MB... I mean, it's basically just ten minutes less of junk cluttering up your drive, right? ☕
The minimum is 20, but I’m sitting here with 40. For me, it’s just enough for all the stuff I run—you know, media players, Photoshop, OCR software, drivers, backup copies, etc. I keep my games on a completely different partition, obviously.
