Go ahead and explain that to Paul Martinez73 😂

Around here, officials are wearing masks half the time and skipping them the other half.
Some cynical people might try to claim they’re ditching them just because there’s a shortage, thinking it’s a way to dodge public backlash against the government structures that demand huge sacrifices from everyday Americans while failing to provide even the most basic necessities. But honestly, those people are just being bitter.

The local politicians and Unknown are having these intense one-on-one chats, standing just two meters apart with their masks on. Total idiots.

Paul Martinez73 said:From the get-go, the claim has been that successful countries are the ones forcing everyone to wear masks. In reality, nobody is actually doing that—well, maybe in China. Most places are just suggesting you wear one if you're sick or if you're hanging out with someone who is.

And let's not even get started on how most people wearing them aren't even doing it right...

🤣🤣🤣

Fair enough.

So, what even counts as a lie?

Are these entrepreneurship posts just total nonsense, or did the Coronavirus actually fry his brain?
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
When are we actually going to start communicating sense instead of this absolute nonsense?

The countries that are actually winning this fight against the Coronavirus are telling everyone to wear masks and they’re running massive testing operations everywhere, meanwhile here, they barely tested 2,000 people and then have the nerve to send out messages claiming masks don't even matter.
(And please, don't come at me talking about how it's just cotton masks, because the article mentions surgical ones too, and besides, how is anyone supposed to even know they're sick if they aren't being tested before the symptoms even hit?)

Are we really trying to act like we're the smartest people in the room again?

So apparently healthy people don't need to wear masks? But those exact same healthy people are the ones facing movement restrictions and lockdowns. Who is actually being crazy here?

I mean, isn't it just basic logic that if absolutely everyone wore a mask, the contagiousness would drop by at least some significant percentage?
But no, we can't use that reasoning because apparently the sick person shouldn't know they're sick, and because wearing two masks—one on the sick person and one on the healthy person—is somehow better than any mask at all, or because wearing a mask means you're less likely to accidentally rub the virus into your mouth or nose with your hands, and so on and so forth.

We don't even need to bring "common sense" into the conversation, just look at the places that are actually handling this successfully. Over there, everybody wears masks. And they are doing massive testing.

brightpilot6 said:There is certainly room for criticism here. But let’s aim for constructive feedback rather than just mindless complaining because things have become slightly inconvenient. Look, you aren't going to ban travel altogether. So what happens if an even larger crowd from Washington, D.C. decides to head down to the coast, where capacity is already stretched thin?

Thank goodness we have dozens of examples surrounding us to use for comparison—across various countries, systems, and mindsets. Our inner circle has actually proven to be more composed and systematic than many others, and arguably more successful when you consider how much people back home tend to disregard state regulations.

Just imagine for a moment if all these operations were being run by the Krimilanov gang.

From what I've gathered through the media and various accounts, I have long held a certain level of respect for Dr. Markotic, and so far, she hasn't given me any reason to doubt her. Am I happy with my own personal situation? Not at all. But if swallowing that bitter pill means there's a slightly better chance that my parents or yours won't perish on the highway, then we'll just have to bite the bullet.

We don't even need to imagine it, because we're seeing firsthand how Horvat and Aladrovic are handling the economic situation right now.

Personally, once the quarantine kicked in over in Wuhan, I realized this was something incredibly serious, and it really grated on my nerves seeing all those comments under articles on American news sites claiming it was nothing, that everyone was just panicking too much, blah blah...

So, I don't think it's just a common flu and I don't think things are being blown out of proportion, but I do believe we are approaching a tipping point—maybe we've even passed it already—where the damage from all these measures starts outweighing any actual benefits.

And it makes me wonder why certain restrictions can be slapped on so easily, especially when they carry such heavy consequences for so many people, while on the flip side, people just casually wave away suggestions for mass testing. They claim it's a waste of resources or that tests are too expensive, which feels particularly absurd when every single day of this goes on, it's literally costing the economy billions upon billions of dollars.

And no, I’m not criticizing the American approach specifically; I’m criticizing the global approach. For instance, doctors in Finland recently stated that mass testing doesn't make sense because patients will only be treated if they show symptoms anyway. From their narrow perspective, sure, that's true, but you really have to look at the bigger picture here.
Let's just let the scientists decide. I mean, I agree, but which ones? If we leave everything entirely up to the epidemiologists, they’ll keep us under quarantine until the virus completely vanishes, simply because that's the most effective tool in their specific field.
They aren't economists, so they aren't going to be thinking about the economy.
The whole thing is way, way more complex than that.

rapidstag2 said:Well, credit where credit is due—you’ve managed to keep that little family farm of yours running out in rural Alabama all this time. One has to wonder, though: do the locals there even have the slightest clue what a proper gourmet meal looks like?

Oh, they definitely know, because it's easily the most iconic product from that whole region, and that tiny family operation basically scaled up into a massive crew of 200 workers on an assembly line, just packing up shamarelice that we ship out in huge quantities every single day.

Look, nobody is actually complaining about people staying in self-isolation for 14 days without getting tested, honestly, no one even questions that part.
The real issue is that about 5% of people just aren't following the isolation rules they're supposed to.

You go ahead and slap a nationwide quarantine and a movement ban on everyone, yet from the moment this epidemic started, you've only managed to run about 2,000 tests.
And yet, once again, nobody is calling foul on that.

Did we even bother to scale up the daily test production from that pathetic 200 we were doing at the start of the outbreak?
I haven't seen anyone even attempt to ask that question.

Don't get me wrong, I've believed from day one that our expert team is handling this operation perfectly, but if there truly isn't any room for criticism or questioning, then please, start using your brains—that’s why you have them in the first place. Assuming you actually have them.

nimblemarlin9 said:honestly, the administration is handling this pretty well 👍

And then Horvat chimed in too:

I mean, honestly, carrying around debt that’s actually larger than everything you own... it's just a heavy way to live, isn't it? It feels like you're constantly running uphill in a sandstorm while everyone else is cruising on a paved highway, and I'm not even being dramatic when I say it eats away at your peace of mind. You start looking at every little purchase, even something small like a coffee or a quick lunch, and instead of just enjoying the moment, you're doing this mental math in the back of your head about interest rates and how much more you owe than what you actually have in the bank. It's a suffocating cycle, really, because once you're underwater like that, the math stops feeling like numbers on a screen and starts feeling like a weight sitting right on your chest, making it impossible to breathe easy or plan for anything real in the future. $67 Honestly, if you ask me, when you look at what the IRS is doing, I really think those kinds of entrepreneurs need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and seriously question what all of this actually signifies for their own business models.

Right now, we’re looking at this massive wave of entrepreneurship hitting the scene, but honestly, I can already see what's coming this fall—it's going to be a total meltdown driven by all those bureaucratic parasites and government cronies who only exist to suck up resources. Once state revenue inevitably drops by 30 or 40%, things are going to get ugly fast, and we'll just see everyone turning on each other in a desperate scramble, which isn't exactly going to be some soothing balm for all the business owners facing bankruptcy.

Honestly, I wouldn't even feel bad about going personally bankrupt if it meant getting to see those smug faces fall apart once they finally realize the money is gone for good.

When you're trying to get an accurate read on mortality rates, you really have to look at the countries that are actually putting up a fight against the virus while staying transparent—and let’s be honest, China is definitely failing the transparency test there—so the real benchmarks are Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and now Korea, which is basically living proof that you can actually crush an epidemic without forcing everyone into total lockdown.

The outbreak in Korea actually kicked off a day or two before it hit Italy, and while Korea shot up quickly to 5,000 cases, Italy hit 3,000 at the exact same time. Now, Korea is sitting at 9,000 but they've stayed under 100 new infections a day for several days already, whereas Italy... man, God help them.

What’s going down in Italy right now is a straight-up collapse, just a complete systemic breakdown, and as tragic as it all is, it’s an absolute embarrassment for them, so I wouldn't be surprised if things get messy once this is over—I could easily see trials and even prison time coming down the line.

The scientist Rudan laid everything out so clearly in that recent piece about the two completely opposing ways to tackle this plague. Honestly, if you read that text and still find yourself stubbornly clinging to just one side of the argument, you’re being totally irrational. btw, Rudan is an Epidemiologist who clearly knows his stuff across multiple fields too, because if he didn't, he wouldn't have even bothered developing two conflicting scenarios in his writing; he would have just pushed one single narrative and claimed it was the only truth.

What even is Corona, honestly? If we managed to pull through the whole Tor situation, we can definitely handle Corona ☕

Tor and all those sketchy bases of his = Torona 😂😂

And now Vekjo is acting like some kind of genius, throwing out that 4% mortality rate like it’s some absolute, scientific gospel truth. Papi just stays quiet because, hey, scientists are obviously way smarter than you, right? And apparently, I have every right to just spout total nonsense and claim that 10 million out of 250 million people should just drop dead because "it's a fact." 🤦

Imagine walking down the street when the Corona virus just trips over its own feet and faceplants. It mumbles some "holy crap" under its breath... looks down, and realizes it actually tripped over Lionel Messi 😂😂

I mean, think about it, those viruses are freaking microscopic 😂😂

Man, I’m telling you guys, the mods are totally icing me out and won't let me use my permanent account, so if you see me getting quoted again, don't go coming for me, just blame the admins because I'm really not the one causing the drama here. 🤣
I’d totally jump in on that thread if I could, but since my ban finally wore off, I can't actually post there anymore, so I just drifted over here instead only to find out a massive debate has already kicked off, which is honestly pretty great because a good argument always keeps things interesting.

To kick things off, brightpilot6 basically said exactly what you’d expect him to say, which is pretty much his whole thing every single time we do this.
Honestly, man, I’m just completely fed up at this point because for months now, we've been letting certain people absolutely trash this thread with jokes that have the intellectual depth of a ten-year-old who just got his first vaccine, and it honestly only got way worse once those guys caught a little bit of a winning streak and let that whole dopamine-fueled adrenaline rush go straight to their heads. And then, out of nowhere, suddenly everyone starts acting like they're the freaking moderators or something.

Look, Walter Grant5, you really shouldn't be judging everyone else based solely on what you've been through personally, because if I hadn't been constantly popping in and out of this forum, I honestly wouldn't have any clue who was actually doing that. And honestly, this kind of doubles as my response to that little comment from ruggedjackal46 about why I’m even bothering to look for a permanent spot here instead of just walking away for good.
There was this stretch where I just completely vanished for like a full year, you know? But honestly, looking back at the last decade or so, it feels like the gaps where I don't post are actually getting longer than the actual times I'm hanging out here and typing stuff up.
Look, I’m asking for a permanent transfer for actual reasons, not because I’m throwing a tantrum or acting out, and I even went ahead and laid everything out clearly in my post, so let’s get one thing straight right now—what happened with Bryan Adams6 and his three disciplinary cards has absolutely nothing to do with why I'm looking for a move.
Man, I think my username has actually become cursed by its own reputation at this point, which is just wild because it feels like I’ve officially become the Sergio Ramos of this entire forum, if you know what I mean. Like, first off, I ended up racking up more red cards than anyone else here—and I don’t even mean lately, I mean just looking at my track record in general—but then I turn around and read all these haters claiming I’m getting special treatment from the mods, and finally, I’ve gotta pull a parallel like the one ruggedjackal46 always brings up regarding that whole Suarez vs. Ramos drama. You remember how it went with them in the big leagues where they used to punish Suarez so hard they basically kicked him off the pitch, while they punish Ramos by just leaving him out there to run wild, and honestly, that’s exactly the kind of sentence I feel like I’ve just been handed. 🤣🤣

Bryan Adams6, you asked me earlier why I spend my time trolling, and honestly, I’m not even sure if we’re using the same dictionary for that word, because in my book, "trolling" covers a massive spectrum of stuff, so when you look at people who don't troll at all—like Noah Roberts46 over there—they actually end up being the most boring ones around, just totally uninteresting, whereas most of everyone else here is out here trolling.
There’s a whole crowd of them out there who are just straight-up terrible at trolling, like that guy yellow-flagging everything, which is honestly just pathetic because at that point you aren't even being clever, you're basically just spamming the feed and wasting everyone's time.

Michelle Palmer6, look, I wasn't even trying to start any drama or report anyone, honestly, I just noticed that the moderation tools were feeling a bit more streamlined lately and decided to drop a post that fit the current vibe perfectly, only to end up getting hit with an instant ban. 🤦
I'm not exactly looking to be a total hall monitor like Walter Grant5 and go running to the mods to report every little thing, honestly. 🤦I mean, honestly, I think James Anderson5 really hit the nail on the head there.
So you actually went ahead and reported brightpilot6 and restlesssurfer97, and now you’re sitting here posting these massive essays like you're some kind of judge? Honestly, man, it never even crossed my mind to flag that absolute circus of a VB16 clone situation to the mods, I just sat back and watched to see how far that whole psychiatric meltdown would actually go.

I mean, look, if I see someone actually being straight-up abusive or hateful, I’m definitely going to report them, but honestly, reporting every single troll is just a waste of energy because then I’ll end up burning through my report credits way too fast and ruin my whole streak for when it actually matters.

Well, hey everyone, looks like we’re destined to cross paths here again because that’s just how the universe works, I guess, but I'm actually gonna head out for a little vacation for a bit, so let's just see where everything lands when I get back.
I’m honestly only gonna break my vacation if Real Madrid pulls off another Champions League title, because if they actually win the big one again, I'll just have to jump back online and vent about it, but man, looking at them right now, they seem like they're in such a massive slump that I wouldn't be surprised if we see a total blowout on the scoreboard, maybe even something like 1-3 after they face Ajax.

And yeah, just to wrap this up, I actually find myself agreeing with Robert Torres—which is wild because I rarely see eye to eye with him, though not regarding his little accusation that I’m just whining, since we both know that’s total nonsense, but rather on his point to Noah Roberts46 about how banning anyone who doesn't fit a specific mold is basically killing the soul of a forum, leaving nothing behind but a bunch of bland, boring drones. It’s something that Walter Grant5 and even Andrew Hayes2, which was a pleasant surprise if I'm being honest, pointed out too, and honestly, once you let those dry personalities and internet trolls take over the conversation, the whole vibe goes south fast, and it feels like that’s been the direction everything has been heading for the last few years.

Take Patrick Martin, for instance; the guy straight-up tore into me here, but he’s basically a staple of this community at this point, so you just have to give him a warning when he starts going off with those heavy-duty insults, which probably only happens when he's having a rough day at his job in Chicago, because usually, about 80% of what he does is just pure trolling. I mean, there’s no way someone can be that biased toward the Lakers without it being a deliberate joke.

Anyway, enjoy yourselves, everyone; I guess I’m officially the drama queen now, but whatever, someone’s gotta stand their ground every once in a while, just like how Coach Tomlin showed us during that intense matchup against the Steelers.
