Even Rudan wrote about how we haven't had a major epidemic in Europe for practically 100 years, not since the Spanish Flu, and that we should listen to the old-school epidemiologists. It's because being an epidemiologist isn't exactly a glamorous career for the younger generation when we haven't dealt with an epidemic in decades.
The only thing we know for sure is that social distancing and isolation are our best tools. I have no idea where you guys got "two years" from, and now it's "12+ months of quarantine."
As for monitoring phones, I don't believe that will ever really take off, aside from the tracking you already have enabled by keeping your location on constantly. 😁
Mexico has been in deep trouble for a long time; this virus stuff is just throwing gasoline on an existing fire. The President gives addresses like Mamara used to during her best days, and his prime minister and government are just as chaotic as that Assembly in Dinamo Chicago.
That's the level we're dealing with.

Getting some fresh air is actually healthy, especially for those of us stuck in tiny apartments. It’s good for both your physical and mental health, which is pretty crucial given everything going on right now. As long as people are following basic precautions, I really don't see why there's such massive hysteria about it.

Maybe it takes losing two or three thousand lives to finally wake them up.
We need strict penalties and public executions; there isn't any other way.
Matthew Young35 said:That’s because this isn't about politicians.
It’s about a minority that doesn't threaten the majority.
Politicians are the ones who actually threaten the majority.
Just imagine if you were an American in St. Louis and people were publicly burning an effigy of an American. How would that sit with you?
What kind of emotions do you think a gay person feels when they see something like this? Wouldn't they want to flee while they still have the chance?
Or consider how a child growing up in a same-sex household feels watching this unfold?
Matthew Young35 said:Exactly.
You caught my drift perfectly.
bluebison47 said:I hadn't heard about that, but honestly, even as an atheist, I find the whole thing just... revolting. It feels offensive to everyone involved, I guess.
Matthew Young35 said:Well, you obviously watched it, so you can testify to what actually happened.
And naturally, you don't see anything problematic about portraying the burning of homosexuals—or even an adopted child—as something positive and funny.
bluebison47 said:When and where did this actually happen for the first time? 🤷
ruggedjackal46 said:I highly doubt Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is cunning enough to play a game like that, and she’s certainly too vain to intentionally embarrass herself or provoke a loss. Honestly, the woman just snapped, plain and simple. And let's be real, this doesn't help Andrej Plenković either; the elections made it clear that the right wing would rather vote for Mirko Škoro or just stay home than cast a ballot for his Republican Party.
ruggedjackal46 said:The whole foundation of marriage is about supporting the lesser evil, as you can clearly see.☕ 😁
Fuck, did Kolinda really manage to lose an election she should have won against a political corpse like Zoran Milanović? You have to be a total genius to pull that off.🙏
brightpilot6 said:If Kolinda actually loses this, it’s honestly staggering to see how much people have been undermining her over the last couple of months, especially in these final few days.
Back in September, I was calling her a winner, predicting she’d take the runoff with a 60:40 lead against anyone put in front of her.
As far as her own future goes, perhaps it would be better for her to just step out of the spotlight and find some peace away from all this.

For years, I voted for the Liberal Party until they finally got a shot at power (helping bring the Democrats in) and then everything fell apart. Even my last vote for them felt more like a protest than actual support. I promised myself I wouldn't do that anymore.
Then I skipped elections entirely until the bridge party showed up and eventually helped the Republicans take charge before they also crumbled. If they can rebuild on some solid ground, maybe I'll give them another shot, since there aren't many other sane options out there.
I once voted for unknown just so I could feel good about supporting someone I actually considered honest, even though it was obvious he wasn't making it to the runoff.
Now, I couldn't care less if the president is some arrogant jerk or just plain obnoxious. I'm not showing up to this damn election. If I absolutely had to, I'd just cross out the whole ballot.
