I haven't heard a peep from him since yesterday, but I'm really hoping he didn't end up poisoning himself😕. Hopefully, this serves as a massive wake-up call for anyone out there picking mushrooms they can't identify. I mean, seriously, who goes for a green agaric, God help us🤦? Or maybe it was a white one, but the result is exactly the same since both are lethal. The real mystery now is just how much else he managed to toss into his basket🤷

Thanks!👍

For now, being able to log into my Chase account without any hiccups is a huge win for me. Honestly, I'm a little skeptical that using that specific cleaner would actually get the job done properly.🙂😁

I’m not sure if the screenshot is clear enough or if I actually did everything right, but I marked the steps with green checkmarks. Either way, I can now log into my Chase account without any issues at all!🤷

Thanks so much! 🙂

These security sites can be super finicky about that kind of stuff. Honestly, I’ve found that just running CCleaner usually does the trick and fixes everything right up.

Gosh, if I actually knew what a "cache" even was...🤷🙄.

How do I go about doing that?

It was just some stupid pop-up claiming their system was overloaded or whatever. Still, I’ve never dealt with the kind of constant headache you're describing. Maybe try switching to a different web browser and see if that changes anything 🙂 But let's be real, it's almost certainly an issue on their end...

I can't get it to work through Mozilla or Explorer either. Sometimes I manage one successful attempt out of ten tries. Using the mobile app works just fine🤷. Right now, my main priority is making sure I'm not in a FAIL state... I'll settle the payment tomorrow, assuming I can actually get logged in😁.

Luckily, my first big fail happened when I wasn't even drunk—I just forgot to put my glasses on!🤣

goldentrucker3 said:If it just says FAIL, then it isn't even a big deal. Just turn it off—I don't know which specific model you're holding or if they swapped it out for you recently—using that button with the arrow icon, power it back up, and just type in the correct PIN. That should do the trick 🙂. I'm not entirely sure how many times you can trigger a FAIL before the whole device locks you out permanently, but my guess is probably three. I haven't personally pushed it that far 🙂

Jo, thanks so much!👍

I actually already tried restarting it and entering the right PIN, but I didn't realize I had to hit the button again to clear the FAIL message from the screen first. Once I did that, it worked perfectly!🙄

The real headache now is just trying to get onto their website. Even when I manage to log in, it rarely lets me past the Chase (APPPLI 1) authentication stage to actually access my account. Could that be an issue with their server lines?

I think I messed up my PIN while trying to log into my online banking—or maybe I just had a total brain fart—but now my security token is flashing FAIL and 🤷. I can't seem to track down the instruction manual anywhere, and honestly, I’ve been using this bank for over a decade without ever hitting a snag like this before.

There's a support number printed on the back, 1-800-555-0199, but I really don't want to spend my afternoon on hold🙄. Since I absolutely need to get into my account by Monday to settle some bills, does anyone know if this is something I can fix over the phone, or am I looking at a mandatory trip to a local Chase branch?
Dunkin' card issues: Payment not going through? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
John Rodriguez60 said:So, does that mean I'm looking at an interest rate of 1.166% (14%/12) on that amount until next month? Since I'd be paying the whole thing off then?

I called Diners Club. Some old guy on the line basically asked me, "How do you think people wouldn't pay?"
We send invoices so they can be paid. It’s that simple. Pay them, or don't—but expect consequences. Bills aren't suggestions. Just settle up by the due date.
I didn't even get a chance to explain what I was actually looking for. The second I brought up non-payment...

If you aren't signed up for their online portal to handle e-transfers or cash advances digitally, here's a workaround: just hit up any ATM that carries their logo—like a Chase or a local branch—and pull some cash directly onto your Diners Club card to cover the bill.

If you're only short by about $333, just withdraw $333. There will be a transaction fee of roughly $20, and that amount ($333 plus the fee) will show up on your next monthly statement. In my opinion, it's much smarter to just bridge that one-month gap this way. It keeps your record clean so you don't end up getting hit with a late notice for $10 and extra interest charges.🤷
Chase Mastercard Standard card in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
coastalwalker74 said:Alright, so here's the thing—if I don't have one of those specific plans where I've already set up an installment plan with my Visa Mastercard, can I still just walk into a store that offers Maestro-style installments and pay in chunks? 🙂 Has anyone actually pulled that off before?

Nope, you can't. I personally hold both types of accounts with Chase. When I use my Mastercard, the full amount just hits my balance every month. However, at certain retailers that specifically advertise it, you can use your Mastercard for installments—provided they have a direct agreement with Chase—and then those monthly payments are billed directly to your Mastercard account.

A Visa Mastercard is tied directly to your checking account, so you need a pre-approved credit line for installments to make that work. From what I can tell, that's a perk reserved for people with premium banking packages. Stores will usually flag if this is an option. One big plus is that your first payment doesn't even kick in until a month later, which is when it gets pulled from your checking. It definitely works at places like 7-Eleven🙄😉. As for the minimum, I think it's around $33, though some shops require at least $150.

You should definitely look into upgrading your banking package to get those premium perks! Also, using a credit card is a fantastic tool for anyone who knows how to manage their budget effectively.🙂
Avoid State Farm at all costs!!! in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
irongardener18 said:Thanks for the reply! I have one more question if anyone can help me out. Is there any rule saying my collision coverage and my liability insurance have to be with different companies?

Not at all! In fact, it’s usually much better to bundle them together. You often get a nice little discount on your collision premium if you use the same carrier for both your liability and full coverage. At least, that’s how it works for me with State Farm.🤷

placidjackal36 said:To actually lose hair like that, you’d practically need to be hit with a massive dose of ionizing radiation, which just isn't happening here. However, heavy metal exposure? That’s a whole different story. Definitely don't rule that out.
I’ve been turning this over in my mind, and honestly, I can't think of anything else that hasn't already been brought up.

We have already combed through every single possibility under the sun🤷. There isn't even a single patch of hair the size of a quarter$1.75 to speak of; it's just bare skin. Luckily, otherwise, they have hair like a movie star🙄

placidjackal36 said:Look, once you take over the care of a cat and start treating them like a true member of the family—getting them to the vet for their shots, giving them parasite prevention, and keeping them clean and protected from pests—that’s just the baseline. It's standard procedure. Only then is it really okay for them to be running wild around the house.

Is there any chance she was exposed to heavy metals? It seems unlikely, but if she’s already been through a battery of tests that came back clear, it might be worth digging deeper with some more specialized screenings. Are there any other symptoms popping up? How do her teeth look? Any discoloration near the gum line? And how are her nails looking?

Everything with her seems perfectly normal🤷. She even went to the dentist for some X-rays, and everything checked out fine. There’s zero chance of heavy metal or radiation exposure. I do know she’s dealing with a lot of stress, though; she spends hours every single day commuting to and from work. What other tests would you recommend we run?

So, my sister finally finished her round of doctor visits. Turns out, it’s not microsporosis—though she’d honestly prefer if it were, just so there was a clear answer for why her hair is thinning. There’s no inflammation, her swabs came back clean, her thyroid is perfectly fine, her dentist gave her the all-clear, and her bloodwork looks normal too. It’s all still a massive mystery, which brings us right back to our original hunch: intense stress is likely the culprit.🤷

Man, just thinking about that gives me the chills even now.😢

How wild😲. Do you happen to know what they did with the cat after that? I'm wondering if there was any risk of infection or if it could be contagious?🤷 😕

Hannah Cooper69 said:The causes for patchy hair loss, like alopecia areata, can vary quite a bit. It could be triggered by different inflammatory processes on the scalp, or even something related to dental issues—like an infected root or wisdom tooth problems. If it were just pure stress, I’d imagine she would be seeing thinning all over her head rather than just specific spots. She should definitely check in with a dentist and maybe browse some US forums dedicated to circular hair loss. Sending good vibes, hope everything turns out okay!

Thanks so much for the advice.👍

It looks like she's going to have her hands full🙂... we're all pretty worried about her. Honestly, I think she's already scoured every corner of the internet looking for answers, and she's only just 😕 now. Instead of heading to the beach for vacation, she'll be bouncing from specialist to specialist. Once we finally pin down the cause, I'll post an update here. Hopefully, knowing the answer will help someone else facing the same thing eventually.

silverpuma542 said:Well, my first suspicion would be the cat. You see, alopecia areata—that patchy hair loss in circular patterns—is pretty common with them, especially if they’ve been living outdoors or scavenging around dumpsters. 🤷
Your doctor will be the one to give you the final word on that.

I'll make sure to tell her to definitely steer his attention toward the cats!👍.

She’s constantly in contact with her, to the point where they even sleep in the same bed! Look, she isn't some rough-around-the-edges street kid; she’s still just a little thing, practically raised on a bottle. She was found abandoned, and honestly, who knows what kind of germs or illnesses she might have brought home with her?😕🤷I know this isn't really the right thread for this—it’s probably better suited for the pet lovers group—but if anyone happens to know, what exactly could a cat pass on to us? Is we talking a virus, a bacteria, or something else entirely? I’m just speculating here, but I’m honestly a little worried about the rest of the family. It might be a smart move to take her to the vet for a preventative checkup just to be safe.🤷

melloworca6 said:It’s possible she’s just looking for a dermatologist referral so they can run some tests. It could be anything—hormonal shifts, a fungal thing, maybe even heavy metal exposure.

Oh my goodness, 😕she's heading to the doctor first thing Monday morning, no matter where she can get an appointment. Our cats are practically climbing her head because of it... She hasn't been near any radiation, and while poisoning seems unlikely, you never know. Stress and hormones are definitely on the table.
Maybe there's some kind of internal inflammation somewhere, too. 🤷

Thanks so much to everyone for the advice!

One day, my sister woke up to find an entire patch of hair had just fallen out from her scalp😕. She went to see her primary care doctor, who basically brushed it off as just being stressed🤷 and handed her some topical cream. He didn't even suggest any blood work or a referral to a specialist. Now she’s absolutely terrified that this is going to spread. It’s especially scary because she usually has incredibly thick, naturally curly hair that she barely touches with chemicals—aside from getting highlights done at the salon every few months.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share their experiences or insights. Are there other potential culprits for hair falling out in patches besides stress? Could it be a hormonal imbalance, a lingering virus, or something else entirely?
