What the hell? Why can't I see any threads? in Forum Help! ·
redmarlin3 said:Oh, right! For a little bit recently—just a few days—the site's search function was totally MIA.
The sysadmins had basically pulled it offline to get it fixed. 😁

So, mystery solved!😁

redmarlin3 said:Well, if I’m following you correctly, you just head over to the tražilica, select the specific sub-forum you're interested in, and then filter for the posts or threads involving that particular user. 😕

Honestly, I'm at a loss for how to even explain this🙄. It feels like this all stems from that period when the forum was acting up and wasn't performing quite right—that's exactly when I ran into this issue🤷. Basically, the "Find all posts by..." feature on wasn't showing everything due to some privacy settings, and I genuinely thought I had figured out a workaround on my own.

It never worked that way, and honestly, it would be pretty silly if it did. A forum is a public square. Its whole value lies in the fact that anyone can drop in, join a conversation, and share their perspective. That’s the soul of a forum! To make that happen, usernames stay anonymous—your identity isn't found in a bio, it's built through the posts you write. On sites like LinkedIn, your profile defines you, but here, your "profile" is how you interact and debate with others. It’s a much more objective experience than something like Instagram, where everyone just follows a curated vibe of being "perfectly fit" or "deeply spiritual." (I don't even have a profile over there...😳)

Around here, you're considered "spiritual" if you don't post in the religion section, a "wild child" if you aren't hanging out in the nightlife threads, an "IT pro" if you stay out of the tech forums, and a "coward" if you won't start a thread in the grievance section after getting banned.

By glancing at someone's post history, you get a snapshot of who they are in seconds, and you can form an opinion based on that. And that’s perfectly fine!

Oh, I haven't😁...all my threads are open for anyone to read.

So, you might have misremembered. It’s not that your memory is bad, maybe it just hits the "delete" key a little too fast! 😬

Just kidding, just kidding! No need to get worked up. 😍

Why would I be mad?🙄 I actually tried doing that a while back. Once I realized I couldn't see which subreddits someone was active in on their profile, I got curious about how that worked. I tried toggling the setting so my activity isn't public to everyone, just my friends, and it worked perfectly! The only snag was that then even I couldn't see them anymore.😁

And trust me, I definitely don't want to be invisible!🙂

Honestly, it’s no wonder they didn't include that feature on the forum. Imagine trying to follow a thread only to find out 75% of the posts are hidden! 😁

I think we're talking past each other🙄. This isn't about hiding anything; it's just how the search engine works on Statistic. For example, if I want to check out someone's profile—like yours, for instance—why would I need to know if you've also posted in a debate about whether ducks are actually geese or something? 😁 If I'm chatting with you right here, why should I care what you're up to in another corner of the site? 🤷 It’s not some grand conspiracy to hide posts

redmarlin3 said:Alright, I am willing to stake my reputation on this: there is absolutely no way on this forum to make your posts invisible to readers or to hide them from search engines. 😬
HOWEVER, if someone adds you to their Ignore list, they won't see anything you write.
It works both ways, too—you won't see any posts from someone you've put on ignore either.

Well, if you say so, I guess I’ll take your word for it🙄👍. As far as I can tell, I don't have anyone on my ignore list, and nobody has me on theirs. I must have just been seeing things for a while there😁.

Well, I couldn't exactly check if I don't even own one! 😁

redmarlin3 said:Are you trying to tell me you actually sat there deciding which posts stay public and which ones go private? Yeah, right. I don't think so. 😁

Well, then I honestly have no clue what happened🤷. It was a while back when I toggled the setting so my posts would only show up for my contacts, and that’s exactly how they stayed. I know this because when I checked the Statistic page to track down my own history, even I couldn't find them! It was the same deal when I tried browsing someone else's profile to see their activity—I just got an error message saying the content wasn't visible.
Obviously, any post I make directly within a specific discussion thread is visible, but I’m talking specifically about visibility on the Statistic page—you know, under that Find all posts by...
section.

On another note, I'm trying to pay this other bill online, and it keeps telling me the model doesn't match the authorization code... the model is set to 01, but if I type in 00, it actually works...

🤷😕

I use the "01" model for both my AT&T mobile and internet bills, and it works perfectly every time. I just double-checked all my other templates, and they’re all set to "01"—except for my Goldman Sachs account, which uses "63." Have you thought about checking in with your bank?

It’s mostly helpful when you're trying to ease a specific condition or perhaps speed up the healing process—though, I suppose, one really needs to be consistent and persistent with it; otherwise, you probably won't notice much of an effect at all.
Now, I don't necessarily want to badmouth the brand, but for instance, it wasn't particularly useful for my mother when she was dealing with those intense bouts of back pain from her spine issues (it's a long story).

As far as cellulite goes, it’s almost entirely ineffective—I mean, anything the device is meant to do, you could just do to yourself manually, so you might see some fleeting improvement, but that's about it.

For me, it was a lifesaver for severe neck pain right at the base of my skull—especially when I had already exhausted other therapies like ultrasound or laser treatments. When I went for my follow-up with the neurologist at the Mayo Clinic—since I deal with a few other health issues, I asked her about potential side effects or safety concerns—she actually gave me a glowing recommendation to use the Light Therapy Device to help manage the pain. You absolutely have to be disciplined about it. I use it every single day for about ten minutes, and after a month, my pain dropped by at least 80%! My mom even used the light to treat gum disease that was threatening to leave her toothless; now, all her teeth are rock solid. It helped with ear infections, sinus issues, and even stiff toes... I could go on forever, but those are just the experiences from my family. Of course, it probably depends on the severity of the damage or the specific type of inflammation or pain you're facing.🤷 I haven't tried it for cellulite.🤷🙄

Jessica Diaz said:Yeah, I’ve got the token on me, though I haven't actually gone through the trouble of trying to fire it up or anything... so it should work. Fine. I'll go take a look later. Thanks.

I’ve been using Chase online banking for over a decade now, and honestly, I’ve already forgotten the activation process! There’s usually a support number printed right on the back of the device. Since you already have the physical token in hand, you might be able to skip the trip to the local branch altogether.🤷

Jessica Diaz said:I’ll start by asking here before I dive into that whole token ordeal. Since I’ve never actually messed with one, I’m wondering if there’s a way to check my current checking account balance through it—or honestly, just anywhere online—so I don't have to trek out to an ATM.

If you don't get a token, you won't have access to online banking, which means checking your balance online becomes a no-go. You could use a mobile banking app tied to your phone, but honestly, you still need online banking set up first to make that happen🤷.
It’s really not that complicated👍

! I’m feeling a bit shaky about this. Honestly, I’m just nervous, so hearing from people who have dealt with similar issues really helps me find my footing. When you're this anxious, it feels like you're just shooting in the dark. One person tells you one thing, another person says something else...😕Thanks so much!
👍

Don't mention it!👍 My family has had wonderful results using various methods for pain relief and healing—there are so many success stories to tell! But since you're feeling uneasy, the absolute best move is to get a direct answer from the specific doctor you're seeing.😉

Adam Brown64 said:I was wondering if I could use my Philips Light Therapy Device on my shin? I’ve got some screws and plates in there right now, and I'm hoping it might help things heal up faster.
It's been about 8 weeks since my surgery.😕😕

Based on this link, it looks like you might be able to, but obviously, I'm not a doctor, so please don't take this as medical advice🤷. I can only share what my own family and I have experienced👍. We have a large Philips device at home, and honestly, it’s worth every single penny. In Austria, people even use them for medical purposes through their health insurance plans quite regularly

Alexander Thompson said:There's really no harm in touching them. I've picked and handled dandelion mushrooms plenty of times... even just the other day, mostly just to get the right shot for my photos...

And then there's this part above: 'Here you go, honey, I brought you some lovely mushrooms...'

Personally, I prefer to just watch them from a distance.🙄

It’s like the old saying: 'Hey, honey, look at these beautiful mushrooms I brought home for you...'

I really can't bring myself to laugh at that one!🙂 👍
Alexander Thompson said:I remember seeing that article right when it dropped... honestly, you'd have to be pretty out of your mind to mistake a toxic lookalike for a common dandelion

That should serve as proof he wasn't poisoned just by touching it. Now, whether he actually knew what he was picking—assuming his wife was the one who actually ate it—well, I suppose the medical examiners will have to dig through his other organs to find that answer.🙄
Alexander Thompson said:Not really... I mean, touching a Jack O' Lantern definitely isn't going to poison anyone... I guess carrying one in a basket mixed up with edible mushrooms is a terrible idea, sure... but I'll stick to my guns: if he didn't actually eat it, he didn't get poisoned.

Besides, the Jack O' Lantern is basically the one mushroom you should never even taste just to identify it...

And yeah, they've been popping up everywhere this year... honestly, if you don't know your mushrooms, you really shouldn't be messing around out there.

I'm on the same page—you can't get poisoned just from skin contact. He mentioned he tossed all his finds and didn't eat a single thing. The only way he could have felt sick is if he skipped washing his hands after foraging and had a little cut in his mouth.🤷 . We won't know for sure until he checks in.🙏

Also, looking at that first link about Jack O'Lantern poisoning, it says the husband gathered some and brought home a Jack O'Lantern that his wife ate, which ended up poisoning her. So how is he perfectly fine? 😉🙂
