Charity Action - Booster for those in need in Soccer ·
So, who actually ended up with the highest bid? Where did things stall out? Is everyone just stuck at the exact same number?🤷
Jbte, out of all the "brave" souls over at Biti Kutak, not a single one from Kutak Glas has said a word... ☕
Andrew Hayes2, absolute legend, seriously, no need to waste breath on Feen.

Based on what Feen suggested, the cap is $662. So whoever gets snapped up, the Action runs until Feb 15th or whenever the highest bid hits.
Nicholas Phillips23 said:That’s 400 if you throw in a Republican Party t-shirt too.☕

$9 for a vintage "Republican Party in my Heart" t-shirt from 2007, though it’s seen better days... ☕
Requesting photo and contact info ☕

@ZZ, we’re sending some love your way this offer is dead on arrival, try again
Auction Start: $33

Regarding the soccer subforum, I’ve got a proposal since Cuchito completely ignored my last request to push for Palcic, so hopefully this gets everyone else interested too...

I want to organize a charity Action. Soccer fans have always been the biggest donors and philanthropists anyway, and besides, it might be a fun way to bring some unity here instead of just constant Kavga. I also want to see if MLS players or Europa League players turn out to be better people.

The Prize:

Basically, I'm auctioning off a Biti Kutak t-shirt that I scored in a trade involving some heavy debate with Torcida Makarska

-"The more they break him, the more I love him"

It's an XL (jbte, I'm a pig). I'm also offering my own membership in NH—with proof, obviously—and I'll personally donate an amount of my choosing to the Hajduk Split children's foundation (the exact amount between me and Chukite stays secret)

All proceeds from the bidding will go toward a family in need in a rural area like Banovina (we can find a contact through any forum member who knows a family that lost everything) or toward Palcic at the local hospital, depending on what the winner chooses.

P.S. I'll match the highest bid myself to add even more to the pot. Let's see how far the Nogometas, Offsides, Vickas, Kutasi, Rijeka residents, Osijek residents, Varaždin residents, Premier League players, Serie A players, La Liga players, Leftardi, Ognjistarci, Neutrals, Jajare, Pickare, and everyone else are willing to go... don't make me boost you all.☕
"He who doesn't bid, damn his soul and bones"

If this violates any rules, just give me a permanent ban, jbte. We really need to unite; there's fighting in every single thread.🤷
Two users banned? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Dear Moderator and Administrator,

First off, I’m asking you as a human being to please lift the ban on Pamper. He’s been on my block list for at least a year now because I can't stand his style or his ego, but a fellow user who actually knows him personally told me that I was the one who reacted poorly first, which then triggered the mods. His post wasn't even about the late mother of the user Bijes; he was just asking where Bijes had gone. We all know the kid is young and maybe a bit impulsive, so please, just let him back on Offside so he can apologize to Bijes... I think Bijes would probably agree if he could. I'll be the first to admit I messed up; I deserve ten penalties because my temper is absolutely trash.

My second request concerns our colleague Bijesprvi. He tragically lost his mother, and honestly, I have no idea why he got banned. Maybe someone was trying to bait him, because holding back your emotions during times like this is incredibly hard—it's fucking tough. I know the guy from talking and seeing him out at games and community events, so please, bring him back. He needs an outlet. Sometimes venting here on Offside is the only way to deal with a moment like this... seriously, what is wrong with you people?

I’m probably the biggest moron on this forum; I’m an idiot who picks fights with everyone. If you could just do these two things for us, purely out of decency...

It’s not about money or anything, it’s just that everyone needs time to cool down, reflect on their actions, and step back for a bit. Even I need to. To make up for my own bullshit, if you show some humanity here, I’ll donate $150 toward Thumbs on behalf of Offside by February 15th. Consider it a peace offering and a wish for better times, especially since this year has already brought so much bad news to us here on Offside.

I hope you can find it in you to be understanding,

Your booSter

Even when I make a decent burger at home, I’m looking at least 20-$8.25, so I honestly can't complain about paying 50 plus—quality ingredients aren't cheap these days. Honestly, though, Kebab is the one fast food I just can't stand.

Now I'll have to explain to Amanda Evans2 that there actually is a killer Kebab out there that won't break the bank... $27Basically, food rankings are all the same, especially here where they just throw whatever mystery ground meat they have into a kebab...
Either I'll have to explain to Ziza exactly what you actually know about Kebab quality... or maybe you just don't get it.
A burger just hits different when you make it at home... $8.25Can you give me the breakdown, please? I’m actually really curious to see how you layer everything inside that burger...

So, where and what are you actually picking up for...

Just one pastry...
Just 150 grams of meat...
Just one slice of cheese...
Two tomato slices.
Just one loop of onion...
Just a bowl of green salad...

Needs to be... $8.25

Whenever someone starts a sentence with "Well, back in Germany..." I just tune out immediately—otherwise, I'll end up wanting to gag.

Just like a true local, you think you're the ultimate authority, and now you're labeling me a gastrist too? It’s pretty funny how you jump from insults to labels like you own the place, just like a typical local would.

You honestly don't have a clue about anything—just so you know, I was born and raised right here in Washington, D.C. Just because you saw a flag on Reddit doesn't mean you get to act like an expert on everyone else's life.

I've mentioned several times that I work for a German firm, so I'm on their VPN for work, and I actually travel there at least once a month. And it's not just there; I'm traveling all over the US and Europe.

So, go ahead, keep talking whenever you get shut down here, but you've already taken enough hits from me lately to know you should probably just crawl back into your hole. Bye now.

The way Jankovic shut down those Q&A questions in the podcast yesterday was something else. And if you do just a little bit of digging online, it becomes pretty obvious that not every single chef is the big deal that Paul Martinez73 claims they are.

I can already hear you, Paul Martinez73, trying to argue that Michelin is just some pretentious, overhyped trend and that "real" chefs are only the ones who agree with your nonsense about burgers being garbage. It’s honestly no different than how lawyers try to twist the law to suit their own narrative.

Oh, and while you're at it, take a good look at those prices too...

🤦

I'm not even going to bother responding; there's really no point in arguing with you. Yet here you are, trying to lecture everyone and act smug, only to end up crying when someone uses your own logic against you to pull a fast one...

I'm just going to go ahead and block you. You're an incredibly irritating debater, probably using those cheap provocations to compensate for having zero clue about how the world works, and then you wonder why McDonald's parking lots are always full. Just my two cents. Peace.

restlesssurfer97 said:Come on, Paul Martinez73, quit whining already, you're acting like such a total drama queen. Just take it like a man when someone talks back to you the exact same way you talk to everyone else. Bark bark bark.

If you can handle taking thirty cents in some shady underground deal without shedding a single tear, you should be able to handle a few slaps on this forum.

Where exactly was I whining? Find me one post where I did. 🤷

Look, I enjoy a good debate, and I don't cry when I get insulted, nor do I try to bail out of an argument with cheap provocations. Kmectivo was the one who started throwing shade first, which is why I’m talking down to him... 🙂

My point was that burgers in America are pretty much mediocre everywhere, so if someone tries to sell you a burger for $9 in Washington, D.C., and you fall for it, that’s just pure stupidity. Some of the best burger joints in the World have prices two to five times higher than that. Maybe it'll click for you now... 🤷
Besides, any actual chef would agree with me on this burger thing, but if Amanda Evans2 thinks she's somehow smarter or better than everyone else, that's her own issue. She accuses me of being condescending, yet every single one of her posts feels that way—plus, she adds insults on top of it. It doesn't bother me when people do that to me, but the second it happens to her, she starts crying and calling people out here.

So, since you’re clearly the resident expert on private property laws, why don't you enlighten us? I'd love to hear your take on how your client attempted to twist and misinterpret those very laws using their "expertise" and clever wording to justify such a blatant violation...

You clearly don't grasp the concept of private property, nor do you understand a single word I’m saying.
Your issue is that you take offense like a total coward and start whining the second someone disagrees with you. Then you try to talk down to me with insults like "well, why don't you explain this," while crying about things that everyone else is doing on an even worse level.

The guy above is basically saying he'll head over to Steven's underground sandwich shop, but when I call him out, he'll be right back here sobbing about how I'm lecturing him... Just look at the posts from people like you and the others who just love to whine.

steelharbor9 said:Wait, where did I actually say that? 🤷

I guess I just meant that a Submarine or Brewbites burger tastes better than a McDonald's one—just enough to justify the extra couple of bucks, you know? That’s really all I was getting at.

And yeah, I suppose being condescending is when your whole "argument" relies on making fun of millennials or fashion trends. Not to even get started on that whole situation in Karlovac.

My apologies, steelharbor9, if my caricatures and exaggerations hit a nerve.
As a peace offering, I’ll sacrifice restlesssurfer97 to the Gods, though I might toss a few verbal slaps his way first.

With the hope that you'll accept my apology,
Cheers,

The fact that you don't want to do that is totally fair, and honestly, it's your right. I'm definitely not an expert on high-end dining myself—I know I don't get it all—but I try not to act like I know more than the food critics or whatever.

It’s kind of a gross attitude, though, when you try to force your opinion on everyone like it's some absolute truth. In reality, maybe you just don't get it because it doesn't fit into your own little bubble of beliefs.🤷

But sure, I bet you're gonna go off again about how "millennials are just obsessed with X, Y, and Z," so I don't even know why I'm bothering...

You're comparing fine dining to a burger 🤷

I'm not trying to lecture anyone; I'm just standing by my own take. Just like you're standing by yours. If you're actually interested, I could talk your ear off about high-end restaurants for days. The difference is, I can back up my opinions because I've actually been there. If your main argument is that "YS Burger is the best deal ever" but you haven't even eaten a decent burger outside of small-town suburbs, then of course you're going to resort to those insults when we sit down at a real restaurant for some Cevapi.

Try starting a debate about burgers with any world-class chef and they'll tell you exactly what I'm telling you right now—except they'll be the ones in the know, and you'll be the one guessing.

Anthony Wright30 said:I suppose for Paul Martinez73, the fee would just be a mixed drink and about a pint of draft beer.

Paul Martinez73 only cares about finding where he can get a decent bite for his money, regardless of how many people try to market a basic burger as some high-end gourmet experience. Burgers are mostly just a trend that hit inflated prices because millennials need something pretty to post on Instagram.
A burger will always just be fast food crap, no matter how much you try to package it as "trendy." And $33 if you think paying those prices makes sense, you're bordering on insanity—just look at what actual top-tier burger joints in Europe charge for comparison.

Patty and Bun is easily one of the top five places to grab a burger in Europe, and you can eat there for about $11. So, compare a spot in London to one in Chicago and then tell me again that I'm the one who doesn't get it.

ambertinker41 said:They skimped on everything—three slices of cheese, three slices of meat, that was it. 🤣
And honestly, God help the people who actually had to eat there. 😛

Whenever I'm on the road, I usually just grab a Subway... their sandwiches are actually pretty tasty and a nice little change of pace.

They’ve got a daily special where you can snag a 30cm sub for $5, plus you get a soda refill, and if you go for the double meat it's only about $2 more... so for around $9 you're looking at a massive double-meat sub. Cole, just take it...

I'm just talking about prices over in Germany... if we actually had that kind of selection here for like five or six bucks, it would be incredible...

But they'll show up here with the exact same prices, and honestly, nobody's even going to be crazy enough to hand over cash for a sandwich... $23

But based on your references, it's pretty obvious to me that when it comes to food, you always go for the cheapest, most mass-produced option.
"Opium for the masses"—that should be your middle name.

LP,
Burggeliere

If you actually bothered to read what I wrote, you'd see my point: all trash is essentially the same. You just seem to think that if you pay a premium, the garbage you're eating is somehow superior to the garbage everyone else gets for less—mostly because yours comes in fancy cellophane with a label claiming it was sourced from some pristine farm in the Midwest where even the manure is supposedly better than what they have in Brazil.

I lumped McPerks in with Kremenko because they actually offer a decent variety of fast food; you can grab anything from chicken wraps to pizza or various burgers at a reasonable price. Meanwhile, over at YS, you're stuck with five burgers and that's it, all while swallowing the marketing hype like everyone else without ever stopping to think about what kind of nonsense you're actually paying for.

But hey, there's a market for everything, including shrink-wrapped garbage.

If I absolutely have to eat crap, I’m going to pick the option that doesn't break the bank. I refuse to drop more than $13 on a burger, pizza, or side, but feel free to spend a hundred on your precious choice.

LG,

The connoisseur of garbage

steelharbor9 said:Look, there’s a massive difference in meat quality when you compare a McDonald's or Burger King burger to something from Subway or Brewbites (which hasn't been mentioned yet, but I think they're awesome!)—it's honestly night and day. 🤷

I’m not saying whether it's "worth it" or not, because I guess that’s not really what we're debating here, and I basically agree with GQ that everything is fine and you get what you pay for, but man, the difference is definitely there.

And if you’re getting "bite-sized" portions at Subway, then I really don't know where else you're supposed to go to get full, because their burgers—especially the double versions—are like twice the size of what you get at McDonald's (which usually serves those tiny little things, unless it's a special deal like the Big Tasty).

If you can actually feel full off a single YS burger that costs about $17, I honestly don't know how big you are or how much food you can actually put away.
If you opt for the double version, though, you're looking at roughly $22, and once you add in some French fries and a soda, you're hitting $33 just for some ground beef and bread. You could market that as whatever you want and still make a profit.

It's usually just pure fashion statements, because once someone jacks up the price, everyone just accepts it as the new norm...

Domino's Pizza is absolute garbage; it’s like buying that Dr. Oetker stuff at Lidl and just tossing it in the oven. That’s basically their whole business model. And Subway? They barely made a dent in Europe—that's not even an exaggeration. In major cities, you might find maybe five locations, and they kept their prices just as high in Berlin as they did in Washington, D.C., so they're headed for another collapse...

I never doubted for a second that Sportivo - Burggeliere belongs to that category of "elite burgers," where they grill a patty right in front of you 🤣, but let's be real: it's just that pre-ground meat from Walmart that everyone uses for cheap patties—basically scraps of scraps. They pretend to make them themselves because it's cheaper to shape a patty and slap a "handmade" label on it than to actually buy quality meat; they get the ground beef for $6.75/lb, turn it into a patty for $10/lb, and then serve it to you like it's some Subway sandwich meant to be eaten on the run $13. To actually get full at YS, you have to drop $23 on a single damn Burger
.
I eat at Kremenko, MekPers, and places like that myself, but purely just for the variety...

And then you have people talking about marketing geniuses. They can tell the difference between a $20 burger and a $13, but the only thing they really feel is the hit to their wallet 🤣
Sportivo - Burggeliere 🤣

Elizabeth Mendoza said:The burgers at Megic are way too dry for my liking, and the fries? Totally salt overkill. You honestly need a whole tank of water after just one serving of those fries. It’s basically just a pile of salt with traces of potato, not the other way around.

Personally, I think the Big Tasty is actually great, which is pretty much the only reason I even bother going there... the sauce is spot on, not dry at all, and the size is solid. Plus, I actually like my fries salty, so I can't say I ever get enough 🤣, though I guess I'm biased since I love everything covered in salt.
