In any case, when you realize that the local pub you frequent has become overrun by idiots—or more specifically, groups of people you personally deem to be idiots—isn't the most sensible move to just find a different bar?
Look, I’m over 30 now, so maybe it's me... but reading restlesssurfer97 feels like watching some 15-year-old post on Facebook. I get it, though; the guy grew up on this forum and social media, so I guess this specific brand of rhetoric just became his default setting. All those emojis, the dumb jokes, and that "your mom" stuff he throws at anyone who disagrees with him...
You're a decent forum user, and ruggedjackal46 is alright too, but maybe I’ve just aged out of it. His brand of constant sarcasm is exactly the kind of crowd I walked away from, even if you're still enjoying it. For instance, look at the current thread—Real Madrid just lost, and he’s busy mocking three different threads at once. There isn't a single actual post about the game itself or the other match playing simultaneously. It's just nonstop laughing and mockery. On sites like ESPN or Bleacher Report, it’ll stay like this until Barcelona loses, and then the whole other side will jump in. If you aren't a die-hard fan of one of those two teams, there's basically no room left on this subforum to actually read anything worthwhile.
Take user 60ms over in the Bundesliga section; now that's someone worth reading. Generally speaking, the discussions in the Bundesliga section have been great lately. Even on the Premier League board, you can find plenty of useful stuff, except when everyone starts obsessing over which manager is a total flop. It's exhausting...

Like Robert Torres says, if we stripped away all the sarcasm, trolling, and nonsense, this place would be as dull as death and die out in no time... The only line I draw—and the reason I’ve actually spoken up publicly instead of just DMing the mods—is when things get personally abusive. That kind of stuff shouldn't have a place here...
I totally get where you're coming from. Just imagine if you found out later on that Robert Torres was Jewish... everyone would be giving you a hard time about that camp... 👍
After Robert Torres gets passed over for a promotion at Goldman Sachs☕
Let's be real, if you didn't catch the sarcasm in half of that post, there's really no hope for you. Between Robert Torres, those guys acting like they're from the Bronx, and the rest of this mess, all we're missing is one more chaotic element before someone triumphantly shouts, "Did somebody call for me?"
I’m not exactly a regular contributor here; I spend most of my time lurking and reading rather than typing. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the whole Yankees versus Red Sox rivalry, and I don't really have a favorite team in the MLB. I drifted over to Robert Torres's circle because his writing actually had some charm, but then I saw the likes of Prcijas and Klobucar hanging around and lost interest... Madrono is Mexican, so the local crowd hasn't exactly won me over yet. I’d much rather pick fights on Reddit and collect bans ☕
restlesssurfer97 had some solid points and I genuinely enjoyed our debates, but man, he could be absolutely exhausting sometimes—he just didn't know when to quit and would push things way too far. But hey, whatever, life goes on without him. The rest of the crew puts up some decent posts, but there's just too much mindless trolling about whether Rambo is a villain or a victim, or if Sukija's bite is 2 inches or 6 inches...
He even laid out the whole breakdown of how he didn't pick up a single yellow card while playing for the national team, which basically means the refs over at Madison Square Garden have him right in their sights. 🤣
But hey, we aren't surprised he'll be back, especially given an ego as thick as a Timberland boot. I’m positive he finally snapped after Kitty read him the riot act more than a few times.
Anyway, let's not get too far off topic.
How's the progress on the series looking before the new season of Game of Thrones drops?
Hold on, you’re actually talking about the guy who was defending Rambo? 🤦 Basically, they're cut from the same cloth—he’s the first one in line when it’s time to commit a dirty foul, but the second things get physical, he's running straight to the referees to complain...
There’s an old legend that on January 6, 2018, a thunderous scream echoed through Beautiful NASA... supposedly, on that day of the Lord, Aaju was anticipating the announcement so intensely that once Kutinjo finally signed with Barca, he spent the entire day riding a massive high, only to experience an orgasm of unprecedented proportions upon reading the official news—letting out a roar that sounded like a sonic boom breaking the sound barrier.
Some people take it even further, claiming the sound was heard all the way in Mexico.
In America, journalism isn't really a profession anymore. Most news is just recycled content translated from international outlets... they literally just take foreign stories and posts and run with them. Only a tiny, tiny fraction of journalists actually do the real work. It’s honestly not surprising when you see the state of the colleges churning out these reporters and the quality of the professors teaching them, only for them to turn around and lecture you on how to do your job.
Patrick Martin said:Look, I’ve watched The Sopranos and they’re killer, no doubt, but I just haven't gotten around to The Wire yet—even though my brother won't shut up about how good it is.
I guess I’m just a bit of a skeptic when it comes to these "prestige" American shows.
I've got this nagging fear that after finishing Gomorrah, everything else is just gonna feel like total garbage.
Gomorrah isn't actually all that great—it's just okay. It’s definitely a step below The Sopranos and The Wire.
brightpilot6 said:Man, Amazon is putting together a docuseries about El Capitan San Salvador Sergio Ramb Ramos. Honestly, just having that one incredible project to watch makes the entire annual subscription worth it.
🤣.
Seriously, once you start looking at Netflix, Amazon, and HBO, you’d gladly drop $100 just to watch shows without dealing with sketchy piracy sites or terrible quality... 🤦
brightpilot6 said:It's worth remembering that Netflix doesn't just host its own original productions.
I get that, but this specific one isn't on there. It definitely isn't on Amazon since they have Prime Video, and NBC is all over the place, but this just isn't available anywhere. No biggie, thanks for the suggestions though... I'll find something else to dive into.
The Expanse is on Amazon Prime, but what about The Good Place on NBC? I'm looking specifically for stuff on Netflix because I honestly can't be bothered dealing with downloads or sketchy streaming sites... and I already pay for the Netflix subscription.
What’s actually worth bingeing on Netflix that hasn't been hyped to death? I’ve checked out maybe 30 decent shows, but everything seems to be screaming for attention from the thumbnails... After that, I start wondering if there’s even any point in keeping up the monthly membership.
And please, spare me the usual suggestions like Sex Education, 13 Reasons Why, or other nonsense like that.
Checked it out because someone suggested it, and honestly, what a letdown. I have no idea who actually finds this stuff funny. 🤷
There are maybe two or three "concepts" spread across three whole episodes. After Zizu's recommendation, I was expecting to be rolling on the floor laughing. Like Byron says, it’s just predictable way too often. And the episodes don't even follow a coherent thread? Hmm...
Just thought I'd ask here too—is anyone playing Football Manager 2019 who would be willing to upload their files to Dropbox or Google Drive? I'm offering a virtual beer in exchange...
I’m not entirely sure if this belongs here or over in the Apple section, but whatever. So, I’ve got this older iPad running Android 4.2.2 (Point of View 1030s Mobile). I love using it to wind down with a movie before bed, but I keep running into this annoying issue where the audio and video aren't synced up. Basically, the sound kicks in way ahead of the picture—it happens sporadically, too. I also tried switching browsers, but on any other one, the movie just stutters like my connection is absolute garbage (even though my signal is maxed out and I'm getting 50mbps). Sometimes the player just shows static with a green line running along the bottom.
I’m guessing it’s just because of the ancient Android version and all that, but I’d really love to find a fix since I still use this thing on the go and don't exactly want to drop cash on a new one.
