I mean, there are hundreds of incredible sequences in that movie—like when the guy is hooking up in his car, or that part where he talks about what the neighbors would say if they went to a therapist, or even that creepy moment where the kid gets given sleeping meds 😁 and so on... but this specific part is just so powerful 😁

It’s honestly hard to pick out one standout moment because the entire film is so damn impactful. You've got those urban scenes with the streetcars, then the crowds relaxing on the beach, and specifically that shot of skipping over the driftwood using prehistoric techniques, or people opening their windows in the morning, and all those little details... but this segment stuck with me because it's unbelievable that he edited this as a silent film, yet with this music, it plays out like an incredible music video. It’s wild! You just don't see editing like this anymore. When I think about everything the Soviets might have captured if Stalin hadn't been around... man, what a tragedy.

And now we have this guy, the patriotic businessman and legal expert... some nonsense in broken English 🙂))))

I still remember how much that hit me when I first saw it—the way she moves, those eyes, all of it... but once death starts creeping in with that tilted camera angle... man, it completely chills you to the bone.

So, just speaking generally here, I’m looking for those scenes that really trip you out—whether they're purely positive vibes or just leave you completely spaced out. 😁 You know what I mean: powerhouse moments, weirdly beautiful sequences, heavy hitters, or those iconic scenes that basically define a movie or transcend the film itself entirely.

What an absolute joke of a movie. Honestly, what really gets under my skin is this: imagine you're sitting there writing a script, throwing in some tired cliché about Merlin and Morgana slaughtering each other, giving them apprentices, setting up two rival magic schools—basically good versus evil—and then "bam," you serve up a plotline so incredibly shallow it’s practically non-existent. Then, after a thousand years of nothingness, you deliver a resolution that's basically at a third-grader's level. What I can't wrap my head around is how that writer walked away with a massive paycheck. You've got Cage and Bellucci, who are actually solid actors, surrounded by a bunch of nobodies, and when you crunch the numbers, a production like this isn't cheap. Who is the absolute moron willing to sink serious cash into such a garbage pile of a project just so they can throw some expensive special effects at it? How does anyone come up with these brainless scripts, and where do they get the nerve to try and sell this trash? Seriously, did that screenwriter write this on a napkin for a bag of peanuts? I genuinely want to know who is stupid enough to invest in this, and how any major studio—even one out of India or Turkey—could let themselves be associated with such a total disaster. I don't even have a word for it.

Hollywood is a complete circus. I get it, there are people whose entire job is just reading market trends. They see that some mindless garbage might actually turn a profit, so they find a few idiots to whip up something incredibly simplistic—something so basic that even the most brain-dead viewer can watch it without having to think for a single second. It’s just a group of greedy suits looking for a quick buck, filming this junk, and then raking in the money from the sheep who fall for yet another "teenage-sorcerer-good-vs-evil" trope.

Since when did this become how movies are made, and why does the public keep swallowing this crap? Actually, how much further is this going to go?

Hadžihafizbegović and his whole "I'm a tough guy" persona—both in his roles and his actual outbursts—is so incredibly grating that I can't even put it into words. Setting aside the fact that it actually fits the vibe of the movie, I just can't stand seeing him act so stupidly arrogant, ever since that monologue during the first audition. He’s constantly puffing out his chest, and honestly, I think he has every reason to be insecure... those are some pretty hollow boasts.

I’ve got Divine Intervention blasting through my car speakers at full volume, and Raja is just sitting there staring at me like I’ve completely lost my mind. 😁

Oh, and honestly? I would pay through the nose to see Slayer live.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are worth every single cent I can scrape together... and honestly, if you aren't going for Kraftwerk, at least go for them just to lose your mind to "Boing Bum Chak" or whatever that track is called 😁

In any case, it’s an Odyssey. Luckily, I stumbled upon a Flash page right here on this forum that breaks down some of the motifs Kubrick uses quite simply; since I hadn't quite grasped them or fully understood them before, it really helped me finally wrap my head around the story being told. I read the novel by Clarke that the movie was based on a long time ago, and there aren't actually many connections between them. To me, it's a top-tier art film, but of course, a film like that isn't going to leave a mark on today's fast-food cinema, just like it didn't leave one for Tarkovsky 🙂)), if you know what I mean—I'm talking about Hollywood, right? -.- Blade Runner is your typical blockbuster with a strong plot and high production value. But still, since so many people are obsessed with Blade Runner, I guess I'll have to watch it again; I think there's a certain charm to it, especially since that kind of storytelling and noir atmosphere are so rare these days. There's just almost no good, "human" Sci-Fi left nowadays...
