I feel like you're already retreating into your own little bubble with these niche takes on the genre—views that maybe only you really hold 🙂. It’s the same deal with everyone mentioned here; they all have a signature sound that belongs solely to them, and it isn't just Sweet. At the end of the day, if you want to actually make it big on the main stage, you pretty much have to be different—more unique than everyone else.

Then again, I get where you're coming from. I have my own specific ways of looking at certain things in music that are hard to explain in a debate—even though they make perfect sense to me.

I actually mentioned "New York Groove" before as a perfect example of that sound—maybe even a slightly more polished version of it.

I honestly think it's the fashion, rather than the actual music, that gets tied to the term Glam rock. I don't know how else you'd group Bowie, T. Rex, Kiss, Roxy Music, Sweet, Queen, and Bon Jovi together if it wasn't for that "campy" style and look they leaned into for at least part of their careers. It's not like they were all playing the exact same kind of music.

analoggull52, you've got a point there, because it all really started with Marc Bolan, who everyone pretty much considers the pioneer of Glam rock.

Both bands are top-tier, though I’d probably give a slight edge to T. Rex—they just feel more unique, I guess. A bit more distinct from everyone else. I haven't listened to Slade quite as much, maybe because their sound feels a little more standard, so they didn't stick in my head as much. They actually remind me a fair amount of Status Quo, which I'm pretty fond of.
As far as their songs go, aside from their massive hit Cum on Feel the Noize—the one Quiet Riot covered—I'd pick these two

Wait, didn't Queen (and maybe even Kiss or Jon Bon Jovi) also get categorized under glam rock? I think I saw that mentioned somewhere once.

Personally, if we're talking about this genre, Bolden would probably be my top pick for favorite band—and Bowie is definitely my favorite performer. I guess I also have a soft spot for Susie Q (didn't realize she fell under glam rock), and a few others have some good tracks, but I haven't listened to them enough to really say much. 🙂

It's just that classic condescending attitude of yours, though. Acting like your struggles are somehow bigger than everyone else's. Like some "start of a war" moment back in the old stadium in '91. I mean, sure, it only counts as a "war" if the Bad Boys are clashing with certain groups, or if someone burns a flag during a derby... otherwise, it doesn't count, I guess.

And you aren't messed up? Well, following that logic, anyone sane wants George Steinbrenner out of Real Madrid. Is that even worth pointing out? Now that things have calmed down a bit after the game, I wanted to bring up something that’s been on my mind for a while. I wasn't sure if I should say anything—honestly, this match kind of confirmed my thoughts—but it comes down to the songs. I love seeing us win, but I feel like the crowd would respond even better if we cut out the middle section of certain tracks. The music is incredible, really, but it gets lost because it’s just too long, so it doesn't hit as hard as it could. I don't want to sound like a know-it-all here—this is just some well-meaning criticism, because the melody and lyrics are killer. I just think it could be even more powerful...
And since I'm already chiming in, I want to back up what cosmictinker46 was saying. Beyond just knowing when specific songs are coming, the actual selection at any given moment can be off. You can't get the crowd fired up with a high-energy anthem and then immediately follow it up with something depressing—man, that just kills the mood...
It’s also important to read the room. It's much easier to rally the fans if you pick the song that fits the exact vibe of the moment... though, obviously, the cheering mostly depends on how the Kansas City Chiefs are playing...
I really don't want this to come across as an attack on the new group leading the cheers, especially since I remember how things used to be when Steve was in charge. Again, please take this as constructive feedback.
Anyway, I hope nobody takes offense to me speaking up since I'm just a fan, but I just want the North Stand to look and sound its absolute best.
