Low iron and ferritin levels in Health ·
placidmarlin15 said:I clearly neglected to mention that we are discussing a male patient. While his diet might be somewhat lacking in iron—which is often the case for many vegetarians—it remains perplexing that his levels stay low despite both medical therapy and dietary adjustments.

Thank you all for the recipes as well. We have already tried the one with beetroot, apple, and carrot, but he cannot consume it until after his next blood test to ensure the results remain accurate. Everything remains unchanged for now. He also provided a stool sample for the lab, which came back clear with no signs of bleeding...

How old is he? Any other underlying health issues going on?
I'm a little confused by the bolded part, though—is he a vegetarian or not? If he is, he should probably try taking some Vitamin C or drinking fruit juices, since those help boost absorption (just like eating more fruit does). If he isn't, then sticking to red meat and fish is usually the way to go, since the iron in those is in the best form for the body to actually use.

Hmm, they actually just played two shows over in Greece about ten days ago, 😕 🤷

I can't tell you how many times I've sat through movies where some guy wanders into the middle of nowhere only to be met with a bunch of narrow-minded locals—once, maybe? But honestly, the whole point isn't really the plot; it's more about the characters and how they react to things. It’s genuinely witty, and one of those rare comedies that actually manages to be funny.
I mean, most of those mainstream American quasi-comedies pack the theaters just because they're "hilarious," but really, it's just gross-out humor and cliché piled on top of cliché.

I'm right there with you regarding American comedies; I'd much rather head to the theater for something British, French, or maybe a quirky indie flick from Europe. 🙂
The movie itself is clever, and there were definitely moments where I was practically crying from laughing so hard, though I felt like the script leaned a little too heavily on that "Chicago Cubs" accent joke, which—for someone who knows a tiny bit of the language—didn't land quite as well for me.

Yeah, that's the official American title.🙂
I actually caught this movie a few days ago, and I have to agree—the experience is night and day depending on whether you speak French or not. For me, the movie was just alright; there were a handful of scenes that were genuinely hilarious where the whole theater was cracking up, but for most of the runtime, it felt like only a few people were laughing—likely those French majors in the back who actually understood the dialogue, since the rest of us were pretty much lost.😁

Some people are just living in a total fantasy land. 😉

There are six of us hanging out at my place right now and not a single one of us is watching Big Brother; honestly, most of my friends don't even touch that show. There are actually plenty of people who would love to dive back into a series like Alaska, and I really don't see the logic behind why NBC would wait so long to air it. Trust me, you'd be surprised by how many people are still looking for something with actual substance on TV.

I honestly feel like a show about life up in Alaska should probably launch in its 20th or 21st season already; it would definitely pull decent numbers because there’s such a massive audience out there looking for an alternative to things like Big Brother, which—let's face it—isn't everyone's cup of tea. It seems pretty obvious that FOX is prioritizing sheer viewership numbers over actual quality this fall.
I went through this exact same thing about seven years ago. It was the whole routine: B vitamins, massage therapy, and those little electrical stimulation sessions. I did 20 sessions over the course of a month or so, and honestly, I bounced back completely. Now, I’m not acting like Francis, where you can't tell anything's wrong, but I feel great. The real secret is just staying on top of your solo exercises; if you do that, you'll be fine. I still laugh thinking about when I first showed up for my appointment, feeling all proud of myself because I actually managed to close my eye at home. I tried to demonstrate it to the physical therapist to prove I could do it, but it just wouldn't cooperate. 😢😁
