Hehe, I definitely want the 2.5''. That single inch makes such a huge difference—mobility is everything to me.
I don't have 3.0; I'm rocking an old Dell Latitude 4. 🙂I figure by the time I buy a new laptop in a year or two, they'll either have plenty of internal storage built-in—meaning I won't need massive external capacity for a while—or I'll finally have the cash for a better hard drive with 3.0. 🙂
Hey everyone! I'm circling back to this old thread. 🙂 Since I didn't end up buying an external hard drive a few months ago, I've been keeping an eye on prices—and I just stumbled upon this:
Seagate Expansion 750GB, USB 2.0 ADATA ADATA offers the ultra-slim NH92 portable hard drive. At only 12 millimeters thick and weighing just 152 grams, it's actually one of the thinnest and lightest aluminum portable drives out there. It even comes with a custom leather pouch, which might appeal to those who care about aesthetics. It’s available in three pretty colors: light silver, cherry pink, and ocean blue. Manufacturer: ADATA Model: HDD 750GB Seagate Expansion PN: ANH92-750GU-CSV Warranty: 36 months Gross weight: 0.333 kg
It seems like a decent deal for 750 GB. It doesn't have any rubber coating or extra drop protection, though I suppose the little pouch should offer at least some basic shielding. What do you all think? I don't know much about ADATA outside of their memory cards, so I'm really not sure what their drive quality is like.
Good morning! A few of us have been chatting about starting an LLC, and I’ve got some questions—I've read through the previous pages, but I'm still feeling a bit turned around regarding how this all works. 1. Is it possible for a part-owner to remain anonymous? Like, can we keep their names from being visible anywhere in the public record? 2. Could we draft an internal ownership agreement among several people, where only one person is officially listed as the voice/representative (to address my first question)? 3. Can a company operate without actually having any employees on the payroll? 4. Can the director be a college student? Someone who isn't working anywhere else right now, but also isn't registered as unemployed with the labor office? 5. Is a company required to hire anyone else besides the director? 6. Could a company with just the owner—or the absolute bare minimum number of people required—hire outside contractors? 7. Can such a company hire someone directly without needing to go through public job postings or making changes to the articles of incorporation with a notary?
To give you a clearer picture: let's say the company is registered in my name—I'm a student, so I'd act as the director if that's what's necessary. And if it's required, I'd be the employee too. But in reality, the business would be owned by five people, all of whom have various conflicts of interest regarding co-ownership. They would essentially function as outside consultants or advisors... something like that. Is there a way to structure it like this? Thanks!

You know, someone who looks you in the eye, says hello when you walk in (🙂), really listens, offers solid advice, and doesn't play games when it comes to issuing referrals or prescriptions. I just want a conscientious doctor who takes the time to check my medical history... basically, a decent GP in the Central Park area, or maybe somewhere in the eastern part of town heading toward Downtown (as long as it's near a tram line). If you have any recommendations from doctors you actually trust, please let me know—I really need to move on from my current doctor, because honestly, I never know if I can 😲 or 🤣 .
It could be anywhere from Downtown, Queens, Borongaj, the bus terminal, Central Park, or even Dubrava... basically anywhere within walking distance of a tram line. Is it really too much to ask for a good doctor?
I’m on the hunt for a general practitioner—someone who actually enjoys what they do and takes a moment to look up and say hello when you walk in (🙂). I'm looking for someone who truly listens, offers solid advice, doesn't play games when it comes to writing necessary referrals or prescriptions, and actually takes the time to check your medical history in your file... basically, just a conscientious, decent doctor. Ideally, I'd love someone near Central Park, or maybe somewhere in the eastern part of town heading toward Downtown—somewhere within easy reach of the light rail. If you have any recommendations from doctors you're actually happy with, please let me know. I really need to move on from my current doctor, because honestly, I never know if I can 😲 or 🤣 .
Noah Sanchez39 said:... USB 3.0 is way faster than USB 2.0 (we're talking 5 Gbps versus 480 Mbps), and even though there aren't quite as many devices supporting the newer standard yet compared to the older ones, they are still "backward compatible." So, if your laptop only has a USB 2.0 port, the transfer speeds will just drop down to match that older standard. ... 🙂
Thanks for such a detailed breakdown. 😉 That’s exactly my thought process—I want the most storage possible for the lowest price, but I don't want to sacrifice quality. The options out there are so varied, isn't it? It makes it really tough to judge what's actually good and what's junk. I've been browsing Amazon and a few other sites, but I figured I'd come here to get some real opinions first. 🙂 One more thing—if I end up getting a drive with USB 2.0, is that basically becoming obsolete? I tend to hold onto my tech for about 4 or 5 years. Right now, I'm using an older laptop, but if I upgrade to a new one in a year or two, am I going to have to toss this drive because everything will be USB 3.0 by then? I mean, I could still use it, right? It would just be limited by those slower speeds?
darkowl72—was your comment referring to Noah Sanchez39's point about USB 2.0 and 3.0? 🙂
Hey everyone! I have a question for you all. 🙂 I’m looking to pick up a 2.5" external drive to move some stuff off my computer and my old DVDs—mostly photos, books, documents, and movies. I found a couple of options with 640 GB capacity for around $167 bucks, and I was wondering if there are any specific brands or models I should definitely stay away from? Honestly, I’m just trying to find the cheapest option with the most storage space possible without buying absolute junk. I'm eyeing these two specifically, so what do you guys think?
Transcend StoreJet 25 M3 640GB Hard Drive External Mobile HDD 640GB, 640 GB, USB, 8 MB, 2.5", 5,400 rpm, Dimensions 134x80.8x18.8mm, Weight 206g, Rubber Case-Anti-Shock, Model StoreJet 25 M3 Mobile PN: TS640GSJ25M Warranty: 24 months Gross weight: 0.450 kg Cash price: $176
Am I right in thinking the main difference is that the second one has a rubberized coating, so maybe it won't take damage as easily? Do you have any better suggestions within this price range?
Also, a quick question since I'm a total newbie here—is USB 2.0 slower than USB 3.0? And can you plug a USB 3.0 external hard drive into a laptop that only has USB 2.0 ports? If it works, does the speed just drop down to USB 2.0 levels, or does the transfer become even slower because they aren't fully compatible?
I’ve got a Pixma 3300, and honestly, it was working just fine over Wi-Fi until it completely lost its mind. Now, whenever I try to swap out ink, it tells me it can't recognize any of it. I went in to clean some dust off the print head and realized—oh boy—that some black ink has been leaking inside for the last few months and made a total mess. I tried cleaning everything up with Q-tips, and the chips themselves didn't look dirty, but now the printer is claiming it doesn't recognize any of the four colors. Sometimes it even acts weird and says there are two black cartridges registered instead of one. It even threw an error code 6502 at me. I’ve already tried all the standard cleaning cycles, which did nothing. I even uninstalled all the software from my PC and did a fresh reinstall, plus tried those little tricks where you hold down the resume button... At this point, I think I'll just buy all new ink and new chips in case the old ones got mixed up.
Should I try taking the print head out and soaking it in distilled water? Or is it better to just take it to a repair shop like Best Buy? What do you guys think is going on here? (Both my computer and the printer are acting totally haywire right now) I would really appreciate any suggestions you might have. 🙂
Rebecca Scott3 said:I can see so much more clearly when I step back and just analyze things from this perspective... honestly, there isn't a single day in my life where I feel any need to be a man. ...I am completely content being a woman.
The only thing that really gets under my skin is how women are treated in this society... you know, the whole question of what our actual role is supposed to be. But maybe that’s a whole different conversation... or maybe it isn't.
I really love everything she wrote—that’s why I felt the need to quote her. 😁
Most of the struggles that come with being a woman are manageable—except for the whole childbearing thing. Honestly, I’d love to have kids, but I’d rather skip the actual labor part. So, either you have to be a man, or someone needs to invent an artificial womb that handles those nine months outside of a woman's body...🙂
Jamie Jackson3 said:As for me, I voted for the permanent route, even though those who opted for the three-month trial seem more sensible—assuming they find they enjoy it and decide to extend the term.😁 After all, there is no guarantee we would actually like it.🤷 I previously mentioned my choice in the main thread, but here is the breakdown of my motivations:
The ability to walk around shirtless during the summer Having zero cellulite Never having to deal with hair removal again Being able to commit traffic violations to my heart's content without being dismissed as just another incompetent woman behind the wheel Not having people constantly pestering me about when I plan to get married Being able to have children whenever I choose (perhaps in my 40s😁), rather than being limited to my youth Eliminating periods entirely, which means no ruined vacations due to cramps, no nausea, no pain, no bleeding, no messy discharges, no pills, no injections, and no swollen breasts Avoiding pregnancy and childbirth altogether, so I don't end up physically wrecked and needing stitches after labor No one taking offense if I stay late at the office Finding a female companion willing to pick up my laundry for free—without it being my mother😁 Finally understanding what makes beer so appealing Hearing the actual conversations that happen in men's locker rooms and restrooms Securing a higher salary No longer feeling the constant need to prove myself Not having construction workers turning their heads or catcalling me Being able to retain my maiden name after marriage without facing societal judgment Gaining a greater level of respect Walking like a normal human being outdoors without destroying my hips, spine, and feet by wearing high heels The freedom to do absolutely nothing all day except jerk off and complain about how hard life is Being able to completely let myself go, look terrible, and still charm the most beautiful women, given the widely held belief that women are attracted to personality and soul rather than mere aesthetics😛
So, those are my reasons.😁 If I recall any others, I shall list them accordingly.
I second everything in that last part! 👍 If I had been given the choice from the start, I would have chosen to be born male. Now, I just wish I could pick my gender based on the situation. 😁
Rainbow Lady Asks: Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid dentist here in Washington, D.C.? I’m looking for someone who accepts Medicare—it would make things so much easier—but more importantly, I need someone who actually treats people like human beings. I'm talking about a doctor who isn't stingy when it comes to anesthesia or numbing injections? You know, someone who won't try to cut corners just to save a few minutes. I really need someone who understands what it's like to deal with major dental anxiety. If you know a practitioner who is patient, gentle, and truly empathetic toward people who are terrified of the chair, please let me know. Any leads? 🙂
I'm open to chatting via DM if that's easier. Thanks!🙏
I’m dealing with the exact same issue. Honestly, if Medicare doesn't cover it, I wouldn't mind going to a private clinic—as long as they don't charge an absolute fortune. I'm looking for someone in either downtown Washington, D.C., or maybe over in the East End. What I really need is just a little bit of humanity, you know? I want someone who will actually administer anesthesia properly and won't snap at me just because I'm shaking from nerves. I just want quality work. My last dentist was a total nightmare—my teeth are basically ruins now because of her. She never even finished drilling out my cavities, let alone completing the actual treatments... and she spent the whole time getting frustrated with me because I was scared and in pain. It was just constant tension. Is that too much to ask? 😢
I scheduled an appointment at Mayo Clinic for ten days from now 👍
Man, those doctors! I try to follow up with them whenever it crosses my mind—but honestly, eye exams are easily the least painful checkups I’ve ever had. To make matters worse, the nurse didn't even seem to realize what kind of exam I actually needed... I don't think she'd even heard of pupil inequality before. 🙂
I really need to schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist soon—my pupils have been looking different sizes lately, along with a few other symptoms, so I should probably get my vision checked out while I'm at it. I was reading up on it, and apparently, having unequal pupil sizes can be something you're just born with—anisocoria, I think it's called—but it could also be a sign of something more serious, like a tumor or whatever. Honestly, I tend to get pretty anxious about doctor visits, so I was wondering if anyone could walk me through what a full exam actually entails? It would really help me prepare myself mentally. 😢 Also, does anyone know of a good medical center or a large hospital system where I could just get everything handled in one go? Thanks so much!
I’m looking for some recommendations too. My main issue is that I am TERRIFIED of going to the dentist. I somehow forced myself to see my former dentist, but it was an absolute disaster—she would schedule me twice a month just for five-minute appointments, she refused to even look at a second tooth until the first one was completely finished, and she was just so tense and rude... especially when I’d admit I was in pain or feeling scared. In the end, I just stopped going altogether after three months of trying to fix one single tooth, only for her to decide the treatment was "too complicated" and tell me to just get it pulled. Then, she suggested I pull the neighbor tooth too—which she hadn't even attempted to save! To make matters worse, her associate took over the case, but wouldn't continue because they couldn't move forward until that first tooth was dealt with... honestly, it was a nightmare. 👎 Now my teeth feel like they've been through a war zone, and I'm even more anxious than before 😢😢 it's clearly time to start a rescue mission.
Can anyone recommend a dentist who actually knows how to handle patients with anxiety? Someone who genuinely wants to *save* teeth rather than just pulling them? It would be amazing if they could handle a few things in one visit—like two or three fillings, or at least part of a procedure and a filling where possible—so my visits don't turn into years of five-minute traumas. Does such a person even exist who takes Medicare? Private clinics are my absolute last resort, because I think I'd go broke just trying to cover $10000...
Every single time I check my blood pressure—which usually runs on the lower side of normal—my heart rate ends up being higher than my bottom number. For example, if I’m at 99 over 70, my pulse might be sitting at 80. Or if I'm at 120/80, my heart rate jumps to 93. A few doctors have actually asked me about this and wondered if I've been tracking it, but honestly, nobody has given me a straight answer. What could this actually mean? Is there something specific I should be looking into? Aside from that, I’d consider myself pretty healthy—no known heart issues or major illnesses. Plus, there isn't really any history of heart disease in my family... At least three different people have expressed concern when I mentioned it, but they wouldn't really explain anything even after I told them it's always been this way. One doctor did mention something about a pre-infarction state, though. 😢 Does anyone have any thoughts or maybe a similar experience?
